- joeslice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2When I was about 8, I started to hate reading because the books didn't have goofy sketches on every other page. I think I'm used to reading books now with no pictures/illustrations. However, on the web I guess we expect something different. I think this is incredible technology and am disappointed that some people can only complain about no pics (although they would be cool).
- sohlemac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They complain about no pics because "Reading is HARD. You have to, like, use your brain or something."
- chrisc2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wonder if they can find Roanoke now.
- mage1129, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Awesome I was looking for pictures. First step Mayan ruins, next step El Dorado
- szelij, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I knew about the method used and was wondering why someone hadn't adapted it to search for valuable materials...like Uranium or gold and such.

- rawsteak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1it's like someone working at NASA said after watching Alien vs Predator...."Oh snap, we could totally do that!"

The resolution used is in the order of meters. Its not very often you can find a 1m x 1m square of gold on the surface of the Earth. - vector66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Digg the story but, where is the picture?
- JCDenton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1article from the french site

Brain sees mayan pictograph of cross-legged man smoking something ...
Decide I haven't had enough coffee ... and that cross-legged man's has better life than me - rogersj3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If lost ruins or cultures is your thing, check out http://www.1421.tv. This guy presents quite a compelling theory that the Chinese were actually the first to discover the Americas and Australia. There is a remarkable amount of evidence to support this idea.
- toomuchgreentea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Where? Where? Can we see it on Google Earth?
- rjg1021, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I was looking for information about the discovery of a "new" site of Maya activity. There are Maya ruins scattered all across the Yucatan peninsula, Guatemala, and into Honduras. We know of several hundred.
What makes this article digg-worthy except the catchy title? - chrisc2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"If lost ruins or cultures is your thing, check out http://www.1421.tv. Yeah, the advanced, sea-faring Chinese left so many ancient Chinese artifacts around. - redrighthand, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No Photos?
- chosenone-, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1LOL @ title. I was actually waiting that they found Mayan ruins on the moon or Mars or something...
- colebarnes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"w00t! Positive press for Alabama (for once)!"
Huntsville's a pretty awesome place, LOTS of tech industry. - m4ff3w, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@ chrisc2 "Yeah, the advanced, sea-faring Chinese left so many ancient Chinese artifacts around."
Actually, it is pretty much accepted that the Chinese were the first to master trans-oceanic travel. Though it has not been proven they visited the Americas. Chinese oceanic vessels were lightyears more advanced than those of Europe. - krewemaynard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Sever and Irwin conduct research at National Space Science and Technology Center in Huntsville, a joint science venture between NASA’s Marshall Center, Alabama universities, industry and federal agencies."

Oh well, civilizations come and civilizations go... - Ryosen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This just seems to defeat the purpose of looking for them in the first place.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"Yeah, the advanced, sea-faring Chinese left so many ancient Chinese artifacts around."
Hey, smart guy. Why all the pyramids all over the world?
Not saying the chinese did this, but some people really need to shut up. - I8PP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0If bloody NASA had their way "Mysterious Cities of Gold" would only be one episode. Bloody NASA.
