- DoctorPeptalk, on 10/21/2009, -1/+17must be ***** to be called a baitfish :( it's like a porkpig, or a steakcow
- prisoner24601, on 10/21/2009, -1/+11They're very rare. They are mostly bred for their skills in magic.
- IvenomI, on 10/21/2009, -1/+10Is it a gayfish?

- martsmithuk, on 10/21/2009, -0/+5It looks like a magic eye picture...
- executex, on 10/20/2009, -1/+5That's pretty crazy.

- GorfTron, on 10/21/2009, -0/+3I always associate Capt. Picard's ready room with anal rape.
- ladfrombrad, on 10/21/2009, -0/+3Much better wallpaper. +1
- Awwzm, on 10/21/2009, -0/+3I always associate the Lionfish with Capt. Picard's ready room.
- Balanced, on 10/21/2009, -0/+2There's no notes about where the picture was taken. Any idea if this was in the Lionfish's native seas or was it off the Atlantic coast where lionfish have become a serious pest? (And, coincidentally, good eating?)
- dumbrit, on 10/21/2009, -0/+2I think that fish should have been named Peacock fish
- ChocChunkOaties, on 10/21/2009, -0/+2Atlantic? holy *****. They are native to Indonesia & Pacific. If they've been introduced to the Caribbean or the Atlantic then these ***** would cause massive devastation to all kinds of defenceless fish species. They don't stop eating - greedy ***** and any poor little fishys to put up a fight will be fish food *pun intended.

- Awwzm, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1That's one brutal association
- ChocChunkOaties, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1I'm all for hunting them although i wouldn't like to be stung by one whilst catching them. The only equivalent we have here in the uk are called Lesser Weaver fish which also pack a nasty sting but they aren't greedy like lion fish are and generally aren't a threat to ecosystems.
- Balanced, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1It's a big problem, actually. It's believed they either got hauled in binges or are refugees from aquariums released either intentionally or by storms. It's become a problem off the Flordia coast, I hear.
As you said, they have no real predators, are vicious predators themselves, and breed like crazy.
There's organized dive trips encouraging hunting them, and they're being marketed as a delicacy. East coast restaurants are adding them to the menu. - gkiltz, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1Oh Batfish!
- dhughes, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1 It's a good thing he's got camouflage so they don't see him.
- wolfing, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1Those spines look deadly beautiful.
- knol, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1They either misspelled the photographer's name on the copyright, or the nat geo blurb. On the copyright it says Tatterall, and on the blurb it says Tattersall.
- a2z22a, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1Saw so many of these in Egypt. Absolutely breathtaking. Small ones, and then one really big one near the shore!
- DecoyQ, on 10/21/2009, -0/+1I would like to go fishing and catch a fish stick. That would be convenient
