- HeizeusX, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9Science? Balderdash! Animals are just better at praying.
- Truedirt, on 11/09/2009, -0/+7If only at the end of the day, I could regenerate half my brain cells after spending most the time on Digg just so I can actually get some real work done.
- BigBambino, on 11/09/2009, -1/+8If humans could regenerate limbs I could only imagine what viral videos would stem from that....
- MissDeFacto, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3I freaked out when my friend picked that lizard up and it's tail snapped off. For a few seconds, the tail was wiggling around on the ground \on it's own accord, detached from the body. Life is extraordinary, isn't it?
- fragomatik, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3The wiggling remnant distracts predators, and the lizard gets away. Brilliant defence mechanism! Reptiles have been around for a *long* time. Can you imagine how long it took to evolve such a complex adaptation?
- Gonthim, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3I don't think we'll get to the point where a new limb explodes out of the wound, but damn that would be cool to watch in real life. I'd totally cut off a finger every now and then just to see it.
- weister42, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3I paid an arm and a leg to be able to regenerate.
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2...Or read from a different site where you don't.
- pilot3033, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2A great science article, and very interesting. Glad to see content like this coming back to digg.
- PsychoPNut, on 11/09/2009, -1/+2John Wayne Bobbitt: To bad my dick isn't a tail.
- epiphaniesjux, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1a few sentences before the article got to it i had to guess enzyme blockers were going to have something to do with this all - having recently read about enzyme blockers being utilized in 'detaining' the regeneration of cancer cells and in aids. And i came to that info when researching precisely, the function of enzymes and enzyme blockers as they relate to the paleolithic diet's suppositions concerning grains, beans, and potatoes. i have some skin issues and i'm researching varying lifestyle/diet changes in correspondence. I plan on doing a fiber cleanse in a few short weeks and then observing an increasingly 'refined' or 'moderated' diet/lifestyle. So i'm beginning to become acutely (relatively speaking) interested in biology and by in turn, of course, ecology to say the least. this is all so very fascinating. I was also interested in precisely which enzymes are in Kombucha and how and what they effectuate specifically. of course, there are tons of enzymes so the entertainment is far reaching. at any rate, this is a fairly good example of a biphasic situation i think (though this might be a definitive stretch nevertheless,) in so far as our popular - fed through the media conception of enzymes extenuates, enzymes are all good and yet we can see upon closer examination - that they are like a juggernaut army who can be hijacked, directed by varying entities whose interests are potentially wholly independent or in complete disregard of the human host's health, so to speak.
- Speedy7, on 11/09/2009, -1/+2Remember Dragonball Z?
Piccolo could regenerate and *****.
Man, that stuff was cool B-) - andyb747, on 11/09/2009, -1/+2Them are trick animals.
