- genericcynic, on 05/03/2008, -0/+4You have technical/science interests and still read newspapers and watch TV?
Disclaimer: Personally I follow NY Times and the BBC for quality and my local media to laugh at the clowns writing/reading it. - Cglass, on 05/03/2008, -1/+5No but seriously that pic you even linked is from a different article, and this article is ABOUT a picture wtf?
- inactive, on 05/03/2008, -1/+3Main stream means lowest common denominator.
These people wouldn't even understand what the article is about. They like general words like "scientists", they need an obvious result and they need to be affected by the result to even care.
This is HUGE news. But it's not shocking or sensational so the MSM knows people don't want to hear about it. If they had made an outrageous claim, something like "we finally know which race is the best" or "we've proven there's no such thing as a race", then it would be all over the MSM.
It's like the dumb city paper. Every city has a very popular paper and it's incredibly dumb. Big pictures, big letters, short articles. It's made so that a person with 9th grade education can go through it in less than 30 minutes. - BearinG, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I am positive that you and me are different.
- GIACOMOSAN, on 05/03/2008, -3/+4It's great to read about this on sciencedaily.com, but seriously this should get more mainstream media attention. These are big breakthroughs and could lead to marvelous outcomes such as the curing of diseases and lenghtening lifespan. How come I have to read about silly Barack Obama and another affair between jessica simpson and some random guy when i open a newspaper or watch TV.
- gdonald, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1Buried for lack of "Picture" as the title clearly (mis)states.
- davidlow, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1If it says picture there should be a picture right?
- Andysan, on 05/04/2008, -0/+1Never, ever, under estimate the power of political correctness. To a huge portion of society, PC is the truth -- damn the science and common sense.
- FMWatkins, on 05/03/2008, -1/+1Cue the next generation bio-weapons.
- gabrielg01, on 05/03/2008, -1/+1I see bad news for African Americans and for Africans in this. There is a great chance that once detailed data sets become available, it would become obvious that some groups are "less equipped"...Society attacked and trampled James Watson for saying this. But then society does not understand that you cannot morph scientific truth along politically correct lines.
