- eyepatch100, on 11/16/2008, -1/+24Stem cells -- is there anything they can't do?
- jgtg32a, on 11/17/2008, -0/+21This is a PSA, the TFA states that these stem cells are from the patient they are not Embryonic Stem Cells.
For the love of God please don't start that foolishness.
That is all. - scoottie, on 11/17/2008, -0/+19maybe on his palms and ankles
- haikuFU, on 11/17/2008, -0/+10If we harvest the babies for this, it's going to drive up the price of deep fried baby chips, baby ice cream, and babypfeffer.

- Hale, on 11/17/2008, -2/+10This remind anyone else of Futurama? Where Professor Farnsworth grows younger by rubbing stem cells on his face?
- serif69, on 11/17/2008, -4/+12Help you type an em dash?
— - rald84, on 11/17/2008, -0/+8develop into a girlfriend?
- TexasShiv, on 11/17/2008, -1/+9Can we stop this "human baby" *****. It is not a human, nor is it a baby until it is born. I'll even give you third trimester, but until then, STFU.
- ginestony, on 11/17/2008, -3/+11Stem cells can't run Crysis
- snea, on 11/17/2008, -1/+8Sweet. I have a buddy that could use some stem cells on his foot after an unfortunate basketball incident.
- 4321234, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6FTA - Scientists at Bristol University have now managed to heal cartilage tissue in a laboratory with stem cells taken from a patient's own bone marrow
- martinezmic, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6Reverse their own ban?
- hammer310, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6Hopefully they can help my torn MCL and Patellar tendons. Ultimate Frisbee is no joke.
- theOster, on 11/17/2008, -1/+7...yet
- groo68, on 11/17/2008, -1/+7well actually some quantum computers use DNA processors and as such stem cells could be probably persuaded to run crysis.
- jgtg32a, on 11/17/2008, -3/+8Read you comments back to you before you post them
- 4321234, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4I'll leave this one alone. Knee injury jokes are lame.
- fuzzlog2, on 11/17/2008, -1/+5I need!! ...got a torn ACL and both meniscuses in my right knee.
- jdpwnsyou, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4They can make a Shaky's pizza
- DanBoodro, on 11/17/2008, -1/+5Stem cell male enhancement?
- wedges, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3am i to understand that you just rub stem cells on things and they heal?
- scoottie, on 11/17/2008, -1/+4i'll be first in line for that
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+4bail you out?
- haikuFU, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3Just wrap one of these bandages around your Kipp Winger.
- Culero, on 11/17/2008, -3/+6*eats aborted fetuses and gets stronger by the minute*
- ohearn, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3Yes, I've seen some research on the topic, but don't know if anyone is actually using stemcells for breast augmentation commercially, still I would imagine that silicone is probably cheaper.
- Cryptecks, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2You win.
- supaklaw, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Help you move out of your mom's basement into the van down by the river?
- goober1473, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3This doesn't sound much different to micro-fracture surgery, basically the surgery is a procedure to repair damaged cartilage by drilling through to the bone marrow to get the stem cells onto the knee. All I can say is that there may well be a suggestion of pain for a while after.
ACL and MACL are similar procedures. - jgtg32a, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1It has been, for years
- AaronCo, on 11/17/2008, -2/+3Yes but can they grow a Shakey's pizza?
- ASSASSYN360, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2Will this fix effect my V.A. benifits?
- DanBoodro, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1last I heard DNA processors, although the fact that they're awesome, couldn't yet compare to today's silicon processors. hope that technology pushes it though. would be nice to have a semi-organic computer.
- danj484, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2a) FTA: they used cells from the patient's bone marrow.
b) Embyronic stem cell research uses embryos from in vitro (i.e. test-tube) fertilization. So that cute baby has maybe a few hundred cells.
c) Other sources: umbilical cords.
Contrary to popular belief, where here, popular = ignorant and ***** retarded, they're not skinning live babies. - Gemfinder, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1There's pain now, 15 years after I tore up my synovium and meniscus and had them arthroscopically removed.
Pain we can take! I want my knee back. - majinboy, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1My rudimentary understanding is that when stem cells are exposed to areas of the body where there is damaged tissue, these stem cells will differentiate into the cells which make up of this tissue. However, nobody knows what exactly causes the stem cells to differentiate into the specific cell type.
Anyway, the more research scientists do into this kind of stuff, the more it can benefit humanity. - Gemfinder, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1That's about 21 years too late for me... :(
- scoot2006, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1I honestly didn't expect an intelligent response to that question. Well played.
- rugl, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2it about time stem cell research will be founded and supported all over the world.
- Gemfinder, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Dibs on second place in line!
- nurbsenvi, on 11/17/2008, -2/+2Anything they can't do comment -- is there anything they can't do?
- Jill333, on 12/03/2008, -0/+0There is a web site that can help you repair torn MCL and Patellar tendons.
It really does work.
