- panah100, on 09/17/2009, -0/+4It's disappointing that we don't invest more in space exploration. So many cool places to go if we tighten up our technology. But we can't even find money to go to the moon or mars according to NASA
- D4RK354B3R, on 09/17/2009, -1/+5Jupiter has a solid surface we can land on?
- Keitosha, on 09/17/2009, -0/+4In fact, Ganymedes is the biggest moon in our solar system. Its diameter is around 5500km which is even near Mars's diameter (around 6000km).
Ganymedes is bigger than Mercury and Pluto. - Liam000, on 09/17/2009, -0/+4Science is the very best of humanity. It was responsible for most of the wealth generated in the last 100 years and yet if you choose to major in a hard science physics, astronomy, chemistry. you will be earning peanuts for 10-15 years and when you finally get an opportunity to do research you have to spend most of your time scrambling to get funded by submitting proposals to get grants.
Can you think of any practical problem that more science and more technology won't help? Energy, Hunger, shelter, Medicine, psychology.
Sigh i hate the time i live in. generations from now they will look at us and laugh for not recognizing and investing in the one thing that is clearly the most important. - RatherBKayaking, on 09/17/2009, -0/+3Dugg up. Blatant trolling but made me laugh.
- bsdavey70, on 09/17/2009, -0/+2Now all they need is a giant speaker system blasting some Pink Floyd and we'll be all set.
- Cararan, on 09/17/2009, -0/+2Impressive, the first one looks like a lava lamp
- DeskFlyer, on 09/17/2009, -0/+1According to the Augustine Commission*
- panah100, on 09/17/2009, -0/+1@DeskFlyer: yes. you are right.
- slochewie, on 09/17/2009, -0/+1When the magnetic moon passes over the gas giants poles, that's when the bee like energy creatures get agitated just like in the SG-1 episode I saw yesterday called "Prodigy".
- TheInformer, on 09/17/2009, -0/+1There they go, blaming Ganymede for everything!
[/grin] - acid_jazz, on 09/17/2009, -1/+1Last time I saw a light show in the sky, it turned out to be urine. I'm not falling for this again!
- JessicaWinters, on 09/17/2009, -12/+2We should send astronauts here instead of planning trips to the Moon or Mars. These images are very pretty. I'm sure astronauts can find even cooler stuff once we land them on Jupiter's surface.
