- MrFisty, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34Think about it shinynew: someone asks you "What did you do with your life?". You respond, "I skipped all my grammar and punctuation classes."
- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Ok so where does the "on camera" come in?
- TheWorkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Undigg by going to your profile page. Default page will show you Stories you Dugg.. There is an "undigg" option. :)
The other way around this is to just RTFA before digging. But I have to admit sometimes I have premature digging clicks.. Thank got digg provides a cleanup towel in my profile. - motbob, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Think about it, account, what did you do with your life?
You wrote unpopular comments on digg that got buried. - kaje, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Think about it, motbob, what did you do with your life?
You caused me to continue the pattern and get my comment buried. - Toon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Finally! My family has been having an argument (some would probably call it a blood feud since there have been a total of seventy murders back and forth over the past 250 or so years) with another family who lives near me over this very subject. Now that the answer has finally been proven, the hundreds of years of bickering and lost life can finally be put to rest.
Our two families will go back to working on our farms together in harmony--unless those ***** think the egg came first. - Schwecke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Yeah, does anyone have a video of it?
- jerrysizzler, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13shinynew, don't hate. it's sometimes the simplest discoveries that lead to the greatest breakthroughs.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Is there no actual video with the article? :(
- jguerry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3where the hell is the video? i wanna eat popcorn and watch this!
- Shivoa, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9That's a fascinating read, despite the possibly justified claim that the money might have been spend on more important research. Always good to see theories borne out in experimental data.
Link to original university research page (in Japanese): http://www.kobe-u.ac.jp/info/topics/t2005_07_11_02.htm - DellMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4only if there mexican
- cpirate, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Now all you have to do is learn how to use the "reply" feature.
- jguerry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Think about it, unicyclelarry, what did you do with your life?
for jumping eggs' sake, what did YOU do with your life? - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Need a video clip in slow motion. :) I know there are photographs.
- Unicyclelarry, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Think about it, kaje, what did you do with your life?
You made me digg your comment just so you would be wrong. - acorn22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Think about it JGuerry, what did you do with your life?
You confused me.
ok wtf is this all about.
really. - DellMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3i actually saw this thing on discovery channel where some college students set up a rig to test how many licks it took with prosthetic tongues. it was somewhere around 350
- DellMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i thought that too
- spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Only if they're home to moth larvae.
- Takteek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Cool article.. i guess.
However am I the only one who is dissapointed that the submitter didn't even take the time to remove the "1" from the copied description he submitted? - Tyler.H, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7I wonder if beans can jump.
- surfing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2he was probably in a hurry to be the first one to submit the story...
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And just how much grant money goes to paying those guys, to do this kind of experiment?
"Now the researchers hope to investigate whether jumping also happens for raw eggs, where the motion is complicated by the sloshing about of the liquid yolk."
They will find that a raw egg just doesn't spin nearly as well as a hardboiled one, for preciesely that reason...the sloshing factor that dampens the motion.
There! And I am no egg spinning expert. And it cost nothing to determine that....just a simple observation, for free! - DellMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i want to see a video
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I propose that a digg review board is established, from the membership, and that a digg2 site is made, consisting only of diggers who are approved by the long standing members, based on the intelligence of their comments and stories dugg.
Then I can just go THERE.
'Cause it seems this current 'modding down' system gives censorship power to too many idiots who have recently come to the site.
It's supposed to be a site for tech related stories, with intelligent, adult level discussion, and lots of humor....but not just a site of dumb things and slapstick comedy!
There is ebaumsworld and other such sites, for those who just want that. - yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no video? no digg.
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3dad?
- fuzzboxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What, no video?
- presserkun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why do we care?
About the egg, and also about the comments on the article?
Are we "just a bunch of geeks" who delight in highlighting spelling and grammatical mistakes instead of worthy conversation?
(Can't wait to see what you all say about this.) - protocoI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of course, I was the fool who didn't go for the "straight to the center" technique, but rather the "get ALL of the candy off" technique. 4357 licks. Talk about a sore tongue.
- nullmind, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What pays for "2 years of study" about jumping eggs?
- julianrod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0From the page:
"Remember: your iPod has more storage capacity than everything in this room." LOL - jeznav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@spectre and dellman
Spencer's Gifts were selling mexican jumping beans one time and I bought one.
Too bad they only last for 3 months.

- Bostonsox, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Is this an Onion article?
I expected the last line to be
"Next the scientists hope to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop" - VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -7/+5Wow...an amazing waste of money. WAY TO GO GUYS...you proved an egg can jump. If only that money was used to HELP FEED SOMEONE
- stevieB, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Dude, everyone knows it's 3. No need for science to waste (more) time on that.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I just have one question.
