- piptheminkey, on 12/27/2008, -0/+51Ted.com is so amazing... I've learned so much from the videos on that site
- msaleem, on 12/27/2008, -2/+39I've been reading his book, The Areas of My Expertise, and it is hilarious.
- Checkerd, on 12/27/2008, -0/+37No, that's the correspondent from The Daily Show.
- jtbell04, on 12/28/2008, -0/+22What are you talking about? It's the card company exec from Flight of the Conchords.
- Brak710101, on 12/27/2008, -6/+25That's the PC from the Mac commercials, yeah?
heh! - Brassbud, on 12/27/2008, -0/+16There's a reason more people identify with the PC guy than the Mac guy.
- joshfossgreen, on 12/27/2008, -0/+16Excellent comedian. Great dry delivery and relaxed rhythm.
- petebot, on 12/27/2008, -0/+15Got the Muppet Show season 3 for Xmas. While watching it, I realized that John Hodgman is totally ripping off Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.
- Egroh08, on 12/27/2008, -1/+16That was top-notch story telling, and I find this video particularly serendipitous, as today I started reading a book titled In Search of Lost Time.
- TrevorBelmont, on 12/27/2008, -1/+15I remind you that it's Apple that signs his pay checks.
- nato64, on 12/28/2008, -0/+13It's nice to see something on digg that doesn't require a punchline :45 in to the video
- IpwnZnoobs, on 12/27/2008, -1/+14you call that full screen?!
- CesarSolomon, on 12/27/2008, -1/+12This is pretty old, I've seen this several times months ago, but still today, all I can say is: amazing.
Mirror to the video on TED Channel on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W51H1croBw - jballer, on 12/28/2008, -0/+9The audiobook is excellent - it's presented much like this monologue, except it's about 8 hours long. Like listening to an extended stand-up routine. Best part is that it's listed in iTunes under "Self-Help."
It features Jonathan Coulton as his "troubadour" and there's a lot of audio-based material (my favorite is the recordings of his fake Food Network profiles on Lobster joints, with the obligatory soft music in the background). - ElGubrush, on 12/28/2008, -0/+9John Hodgeman's Daily Show parts are some of my favorite ever, right up there with Stephen reporting on the British monarchy gay sex scandal
- inkswamp, on 12/28/2008, -0/+9John Hodgman has been making guest appearances on MacBreak Weekly and This Week in Tech with Leo Laporte. He was on one of the recent shows with his long-time collaborator Jonathan Coulton and it was incredibly entertaining. It's on twit.tv, episode 174 for anyone interested. I highly recommend it.
- bonk2k, on 12/28/2008, -0/+8Also read his next book "More Information Than You Require"
- johnroth, on 12/28/2008, -0/+6It's the Hoboverlord!
- AManWithNoName, on 12/27/2008, -0/+5He was also 'The Deranged Millionaire" from the They Might Be Giants venue songs videos:

Genius guy, some of the driest, most intelligent humor today. - Starshope, on 12/28/2008, -0/+5That last minute or so tied everything together so well it was amazing.
- wgasa, on 12/28/2008, -0/+5TED rules!
- RobotBuddha, on 12/27/2008, -0/+5His delivery makes areas of my expertise one of the few books that are vastly better in the audio book format. I like the book, but love the audio production.
- johnroth, on 12/28/2008, -0/+5Aw, the end of that was really touching.
- armakaryk, on 12/28/2008, -0/+4dugg for tmbg.

- Hanny26, on 12/28/2008, -0/+3Excellent story telling.
- sylvanknave, on 12/28/2008, -1/+3how many eras did it take for this to hit front page...
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -3/+5That was an unsually long Daily Show segment.
- Techwid, on 12/28/2008, -0/+2I would like to thank this video for sending me on a frenzied dead pixel hunt on my brand new laptop. See: http://tinyurl.com/6tyfxd
Turns out it's something wrong with the video (hence the ability to screen capture) so *phew* On topic, considering how annoying I find the Mac ads, Hodgeman is actually pretty entertaining. I just may have to check out more of his work. - OneLess, on 12/28/2008, -0/+2I love seeing the ratings cloud for Ted Talks. Beautiful indeed :)
- lintmonkey, on 12/29/2008, -0/+1Uh, no. He was the doctor on Baby Mama.

- darkstorm777, on 12/27/2008, -1/+2This guy has great delivery towards this subject for an entertainer. Sad that it came out in Feb anf this is the first time seeing this, but thats what Digg is for :)
