    I can agree with the author's suggestion that we should focus on the health effects of doping. The suggestion that athletes with the right genes have an advantage is... a fact of life.

    From an economic point of view, can everyone afford to take performance-enhancing drugs? If not, then I'd argue that allowing everyone to use them won't level the playing field.
