- HisNoodly, on 04/20/2009, -0/+20You want buy genuine skull of Cleopatra? Only 20,000 dinars?
20,000 dinars? That's far more than I can afford, sorry.
In that case, effendi, maybe you buy this little one, only 5,000 dinars.
Well, that's certainly more affordable - what is it?
This the skull of Cleopatra when she just a little girl... - Halgy, on 04/20/2009, -3/+22Yes, that is her skull. I'd recognize it anywhere.
- zenserve, on 04/20/2009, -1/+16If it only contains sand and dust it's probably the skull of the smartest person currently writing for the Daily Mail.
- hongkongjapie, on 04/20/2009, -3/+13What a nose!
- zombiecarlin, on 04/20/2009, -3/+13DailyMail != Onion
It's a far less reliable source of accurate information. - ChristBehemoth, on 04/20/2009, -2/+11DailyFail Schmuck!
- doctechnical, on 04/20/2009, -0/+8Let me help you with that whooshing sound:
"You know, if I were a single man, I might ask that mummy out. That's a good-looking mummy" —Bill Clinton, looking at "Juanita," a newly discovered Incan mummy on display at the National Geographic museum - ZincSaucier, on 04/20/2009, -0/+7Is this Cleopatra's Skull?
Dailymail=no - phosphite, on 04/20/2009, -0/+6Daily Fail!
- TyrannousDotNet, on 04/20/2009, -1/+6im glad i could resolve this digg.
- raggles, on 04/20/2009, -8/+13Dugg for a 'digg'.
- zekolas, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5Well I am not sure on the exact linage but Cleopatra was a Greek, a decedent of Alexanders General Ptolemy who took over Egypt after Alexanders death. I doubt there was much inter-breeding between the ruling Greek classes and the native Egyptians. Cleopatra was also the first ruler to actually learn and speak the native Egyptian language (as opposed to Greek) and take part in their Egyptian religious ceremonies and adopt not a Greek god as a patron but an Egyptian.
So although she might have been queen of the Nile, she probably was white and mostly Greek. - hitkaiser, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5What?! But her body is displayed in the British Museum?!
http://www.flickr.com/search/?ss=2&ct=6&w= ... - GavinZac, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5A daily mail article being dugg by "Media Insight".
Ugh. Digg just lost the game. - skintigh, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5If it is, a lot or people are going to be disappointed with the reconstruction. Hollywood tells us the reason she was so alluring and irresistible must have been the only way a woman can be like that -- through looks. Reality was probably that she was homely, but extremely intelligent and creative.
- Spo8, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Well she doesn't look that hot.
- hadak, on 04/20/2009, -2/+6Neat. When can we get a picture of the coins?
- metateck, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4How the hell would I know?
- Dumbledorito, on 04/20/2009, -2/+6I don't know about you, but the second I start seeing skulls on my radar, I'm heading for the bomb shelter.
- nmoulana, on 04/20/2009, -2/+5idk I'm not an anthropologist.
- goatomatic, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4No.
- doctechnical, on 04/20/2009, -3/+6Show the picture to Bill Clinton. If he pops wood, it's her.
- inigomntoya, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3You are right. She's no Queen of denial. I KNOW the Queen of denial. She raised my wife!
- iDiggr, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Cleopatra
- iDiggr, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3I found that hilarious. Mostly because I pictured the Family Guy version of Bill Clinton.
- spaceyraygun, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2cleo rocks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxM0qHoL8Cw
- TyrannousDotNet, on 04/20/2009, -6/+8yes.
- Buzzbean, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2That is Cleopatra II. The famous Cleopatra is Cleopatra VII.
- vagrantwade, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Well considering this is Daily Mail, it is probably the skull of a migrant worker from the early 20th century.
- FOR3MAN, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2I'd hit that in the eye socket, get the lube!
- hakluytbean, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2"That's because, Hawass insisted, "when you draw a face on a coin you cannot draw the beauty of a queen, and therefore I think that the lady who captured the hearts of Julius Caesar and Marc Antony cannot have been ugly."

Well, those coin-engravers must have had quite an off-day:

/LoL - inigomntoya, on 04/20/2009, -2/+3Well, its hard to say.... She's no Elizabeth Taylor, that's for sure...
- mikebritton, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Right on.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1Mark Anthony was from a noble Roman patrician family that did not bury their dead. The were cremated. It would be incredulous to believe that the conqueror of Ptolemic Egypt, Ceasar Augustus (Octavian), would not have followed Roman tradition and had Anthony cremated and his ashes returned to his Roman wife. This was the Roman way and Augustus had fought the war, in one sense, to preserve Roman values, something a decadent Anthony had clearly not done in his time with Cleopatra. One should also consider whether a cold manipulator like Augustus would have allowed a tomb for Cleopatra to have exsisted as a martyr's shrine in his newly conquered Roman province of Egypt.
- reyoo30309, on 04/20/2009, -2/+2No, not beautiful enough.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -2/+2I'm sure you would hit anything that has a hole in it.

If so how many heads did she have and was it 2 mouths that made her popular back then ? :O - hosteltrail, on 06/06/2009, -0/+0not so glammed up when she's dead. Shakespeare wrote "...age cannot wither her nor custom stale her infinite variety..." I beg to differ.

- crazy0, on 04/20/2009, -3/+1Sorry take your anglocentric myths elsewhere, she was black, Jesus was black, get over it
- crazy0, on 04/20/2009, -4/+1I think you mean, Elizabeth Taylor was no Cleopatra......The Queen of the Nile wasn't white....
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -5/+1Probably the dumbest and most irrelevant comment I've ever read on the internet, and I've lurked moar than you can imagine.
