- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -1/+40Brain hacking !
Warning : don't do this while driving - sotopheavy, on 11/11/2007, -0/+37Caution: doing this while taking an exam may cause you to be accused of cheating. Kep your eyes on your paper, the side to side thing looks suspicious.
- airwalkery2k, on 11/11/2007, -1/+34Cool. I just remembered I have two walls on each side of me.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -1/+32It worked! I just remembered that I left my remote on the right arm of the couch. Errr, maybe I just saw it there. Well, regardless I think they're onto something.
- gavintlgold, on 11/11/2007, -0/+16I thought it was a way to increase my RAM ... :( I guess I'll have to wait 'till black friday.
- pintomp3, on 11/12/2007, -0/+12or when being questioned by the police. shifty eyes might get you tasered.
- KaiUno, on 11/12/2007, -0/+12.... and?
- spoodigity, on 11/12/2007, -0/+11Its funny, most people look up when they're trying to remember something.
- geneticlemon, on 11/11/2007, -0/+10Whoa. I just remembered my brother's birthday.
- corkster, on 11/12/2007, -0/+10I guess tennis umpires would probably have the best memories then.
- Eallan, on 11/12/2007, -0/+9You're in a hexagon?!?
- qwertydvorak, on 11/12/2007, -0/+9she's an albino with shifty eyes and a memory like rainman. what do you think ?
- Aindrea, on 11/11/2007, -0/+8my eyes hurt now.
- corkster, on 11/11/2007, -0/+8Is she hot?

- darkphenox, on 11/11/2007, -0/+7Move the paper with your eyes ....problem solved, that can't accuse you of cheating with that
- silverchrysalis, on 11/11/2007, -1/+8STUPID QUESTION: so then do albinos have better memory because of their nystagmus? my albino cousin's eyes go side to side all bloody day long and she has the best memory for phone numbers that i've ever seen. dollar figures, too. she can balance her checkbook to the penny- from memory
- thedarkrabbit, on 11/11/2007, -0/+6Wow! I... Uh.... damnit... forgot what I was going to say.
- silverchrysalis, on 11/11/2007, -1/+7hell no
- postitnote, on 11/11/2007, -0/+5People look down to look at boobs.
- wallcloud111, on 11/11/2007, -0/+4that's a good trick but damn... i'll never remember it
- chillfaktor, on 11/12/2007, -0/+4Have you ever noticed how you look in different corners of your field of vision depending on what type of information you try to recall? eg. left upper corner is usually visual, right lower corner is audio (eg. a song) and right upper corner is a sign of liying/making something up (creative)
- SKick, on 11/12/2007, -0/+4Shifting eyes are also common for your typical top-hat, mustached villain. Usually its a sign that a damsel has been tied to some railroad tracks.
- sophiaperennis, on 11/11/2007, -0/+3What if you forgot to move your eyes side-to-side?
- yingjai, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3taser to the eye
- nikstar, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3People look down when they are trying to remember something they know, they look up when trying to think of something they do not know.
- rickygw, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2my wife has epilepsy. if moving your eyes horizontally for 30 seconds increases communication between the two hemispheres of the brain, and communication/activity in the brain (when generalized to some degree) is basically just electricity to begin with, then one could hypothesize that some people's epilepsy may be caused by much more subtle outside "triggers" aside from the obvious ones like flashing lights for some people, heat, hunger, stress, sleep deprivation.
I mean, what if that faulty neuron in you brain that causes your seizures only goes nuts when, say, you tap your fingers against a wall for 30 seconds, or you move your eyes back and forth for 30 seconds. my wife's seizures are semi-far apart (1 seizure approx every 1 to 3 months), but some people have multiple seizures every day. and through MUCH reading and investigation into epilepsy, ive learned that 9.5/10 epilepsy is idiopathic, meaning they never find out why someone has seizures, doctors just try to control them with medicine. what if someone is having 20 seizures a day and its because every time they move their eyes left, then right then down and then tap their index finger...a combination that is impossible to tie to an event because those things unto themselves are very mundane...but could be just the right sequence to "increase communication" (read electricity) in the brain...increasing enough to trip that one microscopic faulty neuron.
im really interested on other people's thoughts on this. - Trax91, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2Just look side to side! My 512 was instantly increased to 4GB!
- Trax91, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2Geek-gasm!
- Dabellah, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2That's the bud talkin.
- essjay, on 11/12/2007, -1/+3Why are you with your teacher on the weekend? Illicit affair anyone?!?!?
- chubbybubba, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2Shifting eyes are also a poker tell for a weak to moderate hand. Usually its a sign someones calculating something in their head (pot odds/ hand odds) and are usually open to a aggressive bluff.
- khyberkitsune, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2In other words - READ.
- aiten, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2Hahaha, dugg for saying exactly what I was thinking!
- darny, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2what is balance checkbook?
- pintomp3, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2or do like Data and tilt your head to the side.
- nakp88d, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2I'm afraid this could become a habit and people will start thinking I'm some weirdo.
- Leo21k, on 11/11/2007, -0/+2Does this work with your eyes closed?
- arono, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1So does it work? Or have you forgotten?
- b3mus3d, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Noo, by the point that the damsel has been tied to some railroad tracks the mustached villain is usually laughing manically. The shifting eyes are a sign that they are *intending* to tie the damsel to some railroad tracks.
A minor detail, but one that can save lives. - Durrok, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1"E.M.D.R. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing" - Good episode
- mashw, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Citation needed.
- nibble128, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Actually, I would suggest a good long pause before driving anywhere... I once searched a department store for a friend, frantically looking back and forth.. over and over as I walked the aisles... and when I found them we went straight to the car... I ended up getting on the wrong side of the median... thats right 3 lanes of traffic all heading my way... and this is an area of town I visited daily...
Careful with things like this, it messes up your ideas of right and left for a bit. - darksydxx, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Will this work looking straight and just moving your head left to right ?
in need another bumo of tthe ya-y0 - chirox901, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but if she was a decent cook... Let's just say the pros might outweigh the cons.
- jbrevik, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1I just remembered where I left my wallet. At the bar.
- Spog, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1whoa, that's strange. My boyfriend used to look at me funny and wonder what the hell i was doing when i would start shifting my eyes side to side and i would just tell him "I'm thinking" never really paid attention to the habit, or even noticed it, until he mentioned it :P
heh funny to read now that it actually does have a purpose. (maybe) - Sirlolalot, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1ok ive been moving my eyes side to side for an hour now, wonder if i have an extra gig of ram now.
- thepxc, on 11/11/2007, -0/+1I look up for both cases. Woo, sneaky.
