- Takfam, on 06/03/2009, -8/+138An increase appetite? You mean a man with a lot muscle mass requires food to maintain the muscle tissue? Wow. Also in the news: Grass grows, sun shines, birds fly, scout hurts people.
- CoreyHalliwell, on 06/03/2009, -3/+88No fat people don't get screwed at all.
- wesleyzero, on 06/03/2009, -2/+75Why don't all men look like He-Man? The answer is obvious: there is only one Sword of Greyskull.
- DarkBlueAnt, on 06/03/2009, -1/+73I look like He-man. Dress like him too. I find that it gets more attention from men than women...
- TwwIX, on 06/03/2009, -8/+73Another useless study.
- mojorrison, on 06/03/2009, -3/+54"Sex costs you $150 no matter where you get it from, wife, girlfriend, hooker... doesn't matter... I'VE DONE THE MATH!! IT'S $150!!" -- Quoted from a drunk old guy at bar.

Always remember...what has been seen cannot be unseen... - evilregis, on 06/03/2009, -4/+35Most fat people could just... y'know... not be fat.
/ex-fatty fatty boombalatty - inactive, on 06/03/2009, -1/+30"Such evolutionary costs could explain why males of our species do not all look like He-Man"
or we're fk lazy... - holyskeleton, on 06/03/2009, -2/+26im sure the world's skinniest man gets more sex than the world's fattest man.
- DarkBlueAnt, on 06/03/2009, -0/+22The world's fattest man had sex with his caretaker and now he's getting married to her.
- PsychoticX, on 06/03/2009, -0/+21I just watched every episode, He-man never gets laid. This is clearly a scam brought forth by big agriculture. Buried.
- hasahugedig, on 06/03/2009, -3/+23they do, but they gotta pay.
- Mootabolife, on 06/03/2009, -0/+20Research has show that thin people have a tendency of buying smaller clothes.
- DankBuddz, on 06/03/2009, -3/+23Fat people screw themselves. Don't be fat.
- DankBuddz, on 06/03/2009, -0/+18Oh dude, and attractive toned men also get more sex than fat people. Surprise!
- Takfam, on 06/03/2009, -0/+12Looks like someone needs to "Meet the Scout"
http://teamfortress.com/scout.htm - OptionalPirate, on 06/03/2009, -2/+12"scout hurts people."
Huh? - jinster, on 06/03/2009, -0/+10I bet none of the scientists who did this study were ripped.
- ByteMeAHole, on 06/03/2009, -3/+12Coming soon...
"Men with money get more women"
and of course the surprising fact that
"Men prefer babes, that put out." - CoreyHalliwell, on 06/03/2009, -5/+14This kind of annoys me, just last week there was an article on here from another science article that said that having good muscle mass decreases your chance of getting cancer by 40%..
here it is
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/53714 ...
Maybe the less active immune system won't go nuts and start producing a buttload of white cells?
Either way i'll take the muscle mass and fitness over being scrawny. - TwwIX, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9By the power of Gayskull!
- e36wheelman, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9I see what you did there.
BONK! - topcat5, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9Did a skinny guy write that article?
- joecomputerguy, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8Pics or it didn't happen
- Kaiosama, on 06/03/2009, -3/+11Not necessarily lazy.
I've found getting out of college and getting a job sitting on my ass 8 hours a day just as 'fat-inducing' as say sitting on my ass 8 hours a day and watching TV (which I would never do on my own).
... Hence my newly minted gym membership card :-) - Smokeydabear, on 06/03/2009, -1/+9Fat guys like me are lucky we're even getting any.
- MattB123, on 06/03/2009, -3/+10Big guys are also more likely to get fat later in life when they can't maintain all that mass. A lot of the bigger guys I knew in high school are now pretty fat 20 years later. I'm content being thin and lean and my immune system seems to work great (I get maybe one cold a year, sometimes I go a couple of years without any sickness).
- TomK88, on 06/03/2009, -2/+9Seriously. Did this study tell us anything? We already knew everything it "found".
- whahaa, on 06/03/2009, -0/+6is this you?
http://findheman.com/ - cawfee, on 06/03/2009, -2/+8Zing!
- BoneStamp, on 06/03/2009, -0/+6I wonder if that was in today's dollars, or old man at the bar dollars?
- altgeeky1, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5iskin - The poster may not be as articulate as you might like, but I got his point just fine.
I'm 39, except for a small pot belly I am, in the best shape I've been in since just after High School... and I never go to the gym.
Even if exercising doesn't seem to lose you any weight, it's ALWAYS good for your heart. Most fat people think they are fat because of genes. Most of this is self-delusional, and is really because of improper dieting (skipping meals), losing track of daily calories, eating "packaged" or fast-foods every day.
I just eat a lot of home-prepared cooking, and exercise by hiking and helping family with landscaping. Helping others is a lot cheaper than the gym, and a hell of a lot more gratifying.
I know I will get buried to hell for this statement (and this isn't aimed at you personally), but most overweight people who downplay exercise and good nutrition ALSO tend to suffer from depression which, which is a vicious circle as they both contribute to making the condition worse. Watching more than 2 or 3 hours of TV a day, or eating chips/crisps and soda pop... that just pours gas on the fire.. - Clark, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5It's kind of a shallow victory for us extremely thin people...,
- temsi, on 06/03/2009, -1/+6I've got a poor immune system and an increased appetite, but I don't have the brawn.
WTF, I got screwed! - inactive, on 06/03/2009, -2/+7HELL YES
- TwistyMcFister, on 06/03/2009, -9/+14"Fat girls need love too, but they gotta pay!"
"Giggity" - ApokalypseNow, on 06/03/2009, -4/+9There's nothing delusional about evolution - it is an observable, repeatable fact.
- kingmanic, on 06/03/2009, -1/+61- A depressed immune and a bigger appetite is not mutually exclusive from a lower chance of cancer.
2- Getting health information from the telegraph is like turning to Jenny McCarthy for advice on Vaccination.
3- Being fit is good. Being a body builder may not be. Many heavily muscled men have health complications in mid life. Possibly due to steroid use. - reecon, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4But remember, you have to have He-Man and Skeletor's swords combined to open the door...
- Astark, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4"Would you like to go out sometime?"
"No way, you skinny nerd!"
"B-b-but I have a healthy immune system and a sensible appetite!" - Kaiosama, on 06/03/2009, -1/+5Women look, but they pretend they don't :-)
- xjeffx, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4I'm ripped and don't get laid. I'm screwed on both accounts it appears.
- xjeffx, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Surprised you haven't been contacted by a hundred digg'ers yet.
- pstroll, on 06/03/2009, -4/+7hunks get to have kids with the womens. geeks get to raise the hunk spawn after they are trapped into marriage by the single mothers.
- norman619, on 06/03/2009, -1/+4No way! I think your research has placed you in the running for a Nobel Prize!
- EvansHall, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Everyone on Digg is so smart. Much smarter than those academics in their ivory towers wasting money researching things. Never mind we only read an article summarizing an abstract summarizing a paper.
- immatellyouwhat, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Such bs, if you maintain your body, workout and eat the right foods, ( not junk ) you build up your immune system because your body is a lot healthier, there is a reason why this body type is so sought after, not because it's desired but because it's necessary.
- Shogun213, on 06/03/2009, -15/+18Fat people get screwed again
- JinxCrow, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Really muscular guys, especially where you see their veins on their muscles, make me nauseous. Also too dense to cuddle up to.
