- RSAgent007, on 10/10/2008, -2/+36Microsoft's Live Maps has better imagery of the same area. Check it out for yourself here:

(Bird's Eye view)
Lastly, it's not Google's satellite. It's GeoEye's satellite -- they just have the rights to use imagery from that satellite. - NCSD, on 10/10/2008, -2/+36Now all Google needs is an underground lair and they're that much closer to becoming the umbrella corporation
- Balladofbron, on 10/10/2008, -2/+32Yay... Now when I'm getting directions I can see them more clearly and not go down the fuzzy looking street..
- Remmiz, on 10/10/2008, -2/+28Gonna be a while before they can get 2in clarity.
- Scottievm, on 10/10/2008, -0/+21They take pictures when there isn't cloud cover?
- stevejobs, on 10/10/2008, -2/+19"In fact the images will be so precise that only the U.S. government will see them at full resolution - clearly showing objects just over 16in across." - Great, cuz we trust them.
- Sonan, on 10/10/2008, -1/+14I'm anxious to see how far Google Maps lets us zoom in when the new images are available. The supplied image is actually about two "clicks" zoomed out compared to what Google Maps has today.
- uiguy3, on 10/10/2008, -1/+14Google satellite picture promises clearer view of Earth -Yay
Google will have exclusive right to low-res images for Google Earth- Meh - quomen, on 10/10/2008, -1/+13Here's the original, I'm not sure it's too big of a difference. I wish they had a higher res photo.
http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&q=Kutztown,+Pe ... - Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -2/+14I'm going to lay out naked in my backyard till I see my picture on Google Earth.
- miggyb, on 10/10/2008, -0/+11I don't know why you're getting dugg down. I don't trust the government either.
- badenglishihave, on 10/10/2008, -3/+13I work for General Dynamics AIS, who produced a large part of this satellite... go GD!
http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/general-dyna ... - ThaDRD, on 10/10/2008, -1/+11I love birds eye view.
- bushout, on 10/10/2008, -1/+11Plus I'm laying in it naked and I just went.
- Junior612, on 10/10/2008, -1/+9Damn that is nice props microsoft. Who do they get their images from?
- sl123000, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8All of them.
- machocheese34, on 10/11/2008, -1/+9they tie a bunch midgets to some helium balloons and fly them and random.
- Nothlit, on 10/10/2008, -0/+8Good, I'll remember that the next time I'm outside reading a newspaper with 16-inch font.
- WNW3, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7I'm waiting for the day the message I put on my roof is readable.
- inactive, on 10/10/2008, -1/+8I wonder what oddities will show up in pictures this time.
- badogg, on 10/10/2008, -3/+9Humans kick ass
- psion01, on 10/10/2008, -0/+5Unfortunately, they more frequently kiss it, too.
- leerayIG88, on 10/10/2008, -2/+7Predators own
- gordonj, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5You should do it in your scuba gear (well everything but the suit)!
- cowsgonemadd3, on 10/10/2008, -1/+6We kick donkeys?
- DreKor, on 10/10/2008, -0/+4I really want someone to try to explain the national security implications of 16" vs 20" resolution. And then, I want some of whatever government cultivated crop they've been smoking.
- Takteek, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5Global Dynamics?
- spectxim, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4New tool from google! Stalker 1.0
- RandomGorilla, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4So instead of viewing images of a guy picking his nose on a street corner with google street viewer... we'll be able to view them picking their noses from space. Innovative.
- GeorgeWKush, on 10/10/2008, -3/+7You are a worthless human being. You're trying to interweave politics and terrorism into this news report about a search engine's satellite? Go ***** yourself up and down.
- icedust, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4google has been lagging behind lately compared to live search maps:

(both zoomed in all the way) - Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -0/+4lukedemi you just gave me an idea, all I need to do is find scubagirl...
- dafragsta, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4On October 10, 2008 the Google became self aware.
- 1smartguy, on 10/10/2008, -2/+6Don't look at my pool. I have to clean the filter, and pick up 3 cases of chlorine.
- lukedemi, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3there's millions of ways to get porn on the internet, but naked people on google earth are the method of choice for diggers!
- r4ge, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3hellz yeah
- arkaycee, on 10/10/2008, -0/+3Soon, you can Search Maps for "my dropped car keys"
- icurnvs, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3Nah, it'd have to be web 2.0ish. Stalkr....or even Stlkr
- mizarone, on 10/10/2008, -1/+4Which fuzzy looking street?
- mrsteveman1, on 10/11/2008, -1/+4"In fact the images will be so precise that only the U.S. government will see them at full resolution - clearly showing objects just over 16in across."
Yes, i feel much better now... - Scottievm, on 10/10/2008, -3/+6Nope, still not clear enough to see my genitals from space. Wait...
- JaysonthePirate, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3Why do the colors look off? The other Google earth pictures aren't this bad.
- Flashtone, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3so what they get a feat every level.. halflings get bonuses to saves.
- DreKor, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2You have one of those novelty Key To The City type keys? Not much else is going to show up.
- palehorse864, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2Oh heck. This was meant for the story of the DJ who quit on air. Oh well, it's staying since the edit window has expired.
- SPThom, on 10/10/2008, -1/+3I have a feeling this is only going to be used to "fill the gaps" of detail in rural communities. IIRC, most metro areas already have higher-resolution imagery from plane-based photography. It'll be nice, though, to have much improved consistency from coast to coast.
- palehorse864, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2He's lucky they didn't cut him off. This could have happened.

not just for rain anymore - badenglishihave, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2Nope, just happy that I am employed somewhere that makes valuable contributions to Google Earth.
- nemrel, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3I heard Google is working on a subatomic particle view for the updated Google Maps.
