- jamesthewitch, on 05/29/2008, -0/+6Looks like something out of an Edgar Rice Burroughs-cum-Jurassic Park flick!
- debuggercll, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3Neo!
- EmperorAwesome, on 05/29/2008, -0/+3Awesome names for those guys. Kinda chilling.
- Sirlolalot, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2Woah! are you suggesting animals actually change and adapt to their environment, and weren't just created they way the were by an omnipotent celestial being?
Your crazy what a ridiculous idea. - jrhelgeson, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2I think that a lot of us could "fly" as well, but like the reptiles, we prefer to walk. Ahhh, the human condition: Having wings and not using them / being afraid to use them.
Like the saying goes: Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines... - nohero, on 05/29/2008, -1/+3that looks totally awesome :D
- GT35R, on 05/29/2008, -1/+3Wouldnt be very surprising since reptiles and birds are close relatives to each other. It makes sense that early flying reptiles, though adapted to flying, would still depend on their ground
based traits. It is from this point onward that these flying reptiles would continue to develop and refine various traits to improve their advantage as flying animals. - johnnysaucepn, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1There's adapted to flying and there's really adapted to flying. You have to be pretty damn good to be able to hunt over sea - so it makes perfect sense that the bigger, heavier flying reptiles would stick to ground work.
- ajkrik, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1"Until now virtually all pterosaurs have been imagined by palaeontologists to have lived like modern seabirds. . ."
Now they imagine some to walk. Brilliant. - Thrilltone, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Babe is the same way

- johnmw, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1And now I'm a giant walking mammal who prefers to drive. Isn't evolution beautiful?
- nakani, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1In all fairness, Eagles evolved in an environment free of jet engines :)

Also the title of the second Jurassic Park movie/novel. - khil, on 05/29/2008, -2/+0nice hats, crazy looking emu's!
emu's prefer to walk too.
