Instead of whining we should get together and sweeten the prize. I wonder what is the easiest way to contibute to the prize?

Definitely worth it. Besides, it matches the theme of the contest as it is a "generator" flashlight.

1) No Scrap; all parts must be off the shelf so anyone can make it for the same price.

If you can't go to somwhere where there's nobody around, they won't be around for long once you start the wind generating process.
- eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3If you win the prize is a "flashlight." Is that the best they could do?? Are they so cheap that they couldn't give something like a DVD? Sure it's an interesting problem, but the prize is insulting. It's more like getting a handout so they would have free fodder for their website and not a "competition." They could at least be honest about it and not call it a "competiton". I suggest that everybody submit their designs to Make magazine instead. At least they pay for their content.
