Not knowing how to do it properly, I just used water. Months later I became angry about something, grabbed it and threw it up against the wall in my bedroom sending rancid bug juice flying in all directions. The smell stands out in my mind as one of the most horrendous I recall every having experienced and I spent the next few hours scrubbing everything in my room vigorously after I took a shower.
