- DarlokDC, on 10/30/2008, -3/+32Leather without the dead animal? Maybe gross, but also ethical.

- jaymzdean, on 10/30/2008, -2/+29Things that make you want to throw up.
- Bogo, on 10/30/2008, -1/+19"Other Tissue Projects:
• The Disembodied Cuisine: attempting to grow sheep or frog skeletal muscle over bio-polymer for food
• The Flying Pig
: attempting to grow wings on a pig
• The Extra Ear 1/4 Scale: attempting to show recognizable living body parts as an art form
• The Living Doll: attempting to make partially living worry dolls"
Oh man oh man. Flying pigs. Think of the implications... Think of all the times "...when pigs fly..." has been said... - jcpudd, on 10/31/2008, -0/+14"Is your jacket leather, it is so soft and smooth?"
"No, it's living tissue from my scrotum, and if you think my jacket is smooth..."
-Best pickup line, evar! - roelion, on 10/30/2008, -1/+15So this is what is what the "mad scientist" has been reduced to . . .
- inactive, on 10/31/2008, -0/+13What the ***** is a partially living worry doll????
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/30/2008, -0/+9Fascinating but creepy!
- plainOldFool, on 10/31/2008, -0/+8It's People! The clothing is made out of people!
- RCBuford, on 10/30/2008, -0/+8You mean from a dead human. Seriously, though, this is pretty cool.
- BaseballGuyCAA, on 10/31/2008, -0/+8Never seen a pig fly? You need to smoke more salvia.
- Rudegar, on 10/31/2008, -1/+8great for making necronomicons
- theeEqualizer, on 10/31/2008, -0/+7If only this had been developed in the 70's then the tragic Texas Chainsaw Massacre would have been unnecessary.
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/31/2008, -0/+6Spicy Pork wings anybody?
- JamJosh, on 10/31/2008, -0/+6No, it's completely creepy.
- artfiend77, on 10/31/2008, -0/+6Seems we're that much closer to creating Spidermans' alien costume :P
- barryiggins, on 10/31/2008, -0/+6this is ***** awesome
- mattavila, on 10/31/2008, -0/+5Wait till Skynet gets hold of this... makes perfect sense for humanoid like robotics (terminator?).
nice going guys... lets advance the creepy. - MikeFromAmerica, on 10/31/2008, -0/+5Is your English really that bad or was that a Haiku?
- pe5t1lence, on 10/31/2008, -0/+5Like Chucky.
- gregography, on 10/31/2008, -0/+5Would it be creepy to give someone you love a gift of clothing made from your own cultured skin cells?
- protodon, on 10/31/2008, -0/+5So I could wear my heart on my sleeve?
- nard3456, on 10/31/2008, -0/+4You can wear someone else's birthday suit

- mutesounds, on 10/31/2008, -0/+3A little panko and fry that baby up!
- johnnick, on 10/31/2008, -0/+3Or you've never been to a Pink Floyd concert.
- kismetropolis, on 10/31/2008, -0/+3Wow. Adam Warren can see the future. He wrote a story in the 90s where a girlfriend gave her boyfriend a leather jacket grown from her own skin cells.
- theeEqualizer, on 10/31/2008, -1/+4Oh Wait, WAIT! I think he should bring up Cameron Sinclair! He can make some inane analogy about architecture's parallels to leadership, then he could look around the thinning crowd calling out for Joe the Plumber.
That would be less embarrassing and about as effective as bringing up Larry Sinclair whose claims of "gay sex, drugs and possible murder committed by Barack Obama" have been exposed as a very weird sham, not to mention highly entertaining. Having failed two polygraphs, and being found to have had a long "27-year criminal record, with a specialty in crimes involving deceit" I would imagine there are better things we could do with the final four days before the election. But hey, Karlitzor, have at it. Somehow, I think McCain would rather not do anymore damage to his Hindenburg of a campaign. Maybe he could then walk with a scrap of dignity. - RobotBuddha, on 10/31/2008, -0/+3Bad move. Never, NEVER, underestimate the public's inability to get past their cultural "yuck factor" when it comes to new technologies.
- idreamwideyed, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2it does this whenever its told.
- feezus, on 10/31/2008, -1/+3I'm too busy eating mistreated chickens from my local chinese restaurant to respond to your comment.
- koldmilk, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2Think of the BBQ!
- Chrontius, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2Here's what I know: the tissue is grown over a polymer-fiber substrate.
Here's what I want: An engineered, seamless leather jacket. I also want the polymer matrix to be *kevlar*, or perhaps buckytube, Spectra or an equivalent synthetic fiber. - koldmilk, on 10/31/2008, -1/+3Kinda creepy but very cool...
- marlb0r0, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2Biodegradable?
- inactive, on 10/31/2008, -0/+2great a sticky little flesh doll under my pillow staining my sheets

- sarahes, on 10/31/2008, -0/+1I had worry dolls growing up...but i dont think i would want worry dolls that ooze though my pillow.
- inactive, on 10/31/2008, -0/+1What's even creepier if that they're developing a living "doll"........talk about giving little girls everywhere horrific nightmares.....
- Frostek, on 10/31/2008, -1/+2Dead skin mask?
- nomoreink, on 10/31/2008, -1/+2Was that whole environment naturally red or was that just another part of the experiment to make it more thought provoking? Was there really blood involved in the cell culture?
