- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I've talked with to two native Chinese people in my office and they say this paper has absolutely no credibility. Like a supermarket tabloid.
- iTony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes
- PapaBier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't buy it. I need to see a picture first, oh wait. Nevermind.
- wahooka, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4how is this on the front page? who believes this?
i think digg finally needs some kind of moderation, this is retarded - tazamore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Stories from remote villages in China are usually true too.
- spling, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3why the ***** is this still being dugg? This is just plain lame.
- zediker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Vampire!!!!! :o ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG"
No no... Its Gyonshi or Jiang Shi, not Vampire. They dont suck blood, but instead suck life force (Chi or Ki depeding on the region). Also they usualy have to devourer the entire body, not just a bite on the neck. Whereas you might survive a vampire bite, you never survive a Jiang Shi. - ScottyQuest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I see two distinct possibilities here.
1. He is some kind of photo-vampire. Instead of the ubiquitous mirror disappearances and the on-the-fly tests by vampire hunters that accompany them, vampires are now photo-immune.
2. He has seen the video from The Ring.
Scientifically, I think the first option holds more merit.
- Scott - coOLcAT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm Chinese, but I can be photographed. I just tried a few times. Is this because I live in Canada?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1C'mon - wheres the suspension of disbelief?! I mean don't some of really *wish* it could happen?
wouldn't it be kinda cool? Makes me wonder what his passport pic looks like...
Think of the advantages:
1. Those traffic cameras could never prove you ran the light
2. Family photos - Hey - Where's Xiangting?!
3. Girls gone wild videos - Honey I swear I wasn't there!
4. Ferris Bueller moments anyone?
5. Redeye? Never! - ozydingo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw a newspaper once that said a half crocodile half alien was born to Reese Witherspoon. Apparently there was still no clear explanation for that result either. I'll bet it was a government test!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1[FARK]
This story is useless without pictures.
[/FARK] - RiddickRom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe it, the fact there is no photo is proof! I have seen things like this before, or rather, I haven't which is again more proof!
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1is his face got rootkit?
- FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sheesh, why not get news from a legitimate source like the Weekly World News or the National Enquirer.
- TRUEPATRIOT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1heres a google cache

- egorgry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Never had this happen, I have however taken pictures where people appear transparent. I can't figure out why and it only happened once."
@Thunderbird. I take pictures like that all teh time. your flash setting was probably on night mode. where the shutter stays open longer then the flash and you get a ghosting effect in low light situations. - MrKite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The staff could not find a reason. They took images of Ye Xiangting with other people. They were stunned when the other people showed up in the computer images, but not Ye. Ye Xiangting seemed to have "disappeared" from the photos. In the end, the staff had to give up. Ye Xiangting said that he has never encountered this kind of problem before. Normally, he could be photographed."
That's the funniest thing I've ever read. It's BS, but it's funny. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0take the damn lens cap off
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@dravidian:
"If you read the Chinese version I bet it says:
"Stupid decadent foreigners! They'll believe any story we make up and post on the internet!""
No, I think that the Chinese version reads:
"什么是 DIGG?!" - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This man is obviously caught up in some kind of strange temporal paradox and is slowly fading out of existence, e.g. Marty McFly's disappearing hand in Back to the Future.
- whisperedlie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'm calling shenanigans on this article.
- ventaur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I second the label of "retarded" for this sad attempt for a digg.
- KC311Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's some funny stuff right there!
- matsiescruff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0funny but i'm leaning toward fake. still an interesting read and it got a digg from me.
- thunderbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Never had this happen, I have however taken pictures where people appear transparent. I can't figure out why and it only happened once.
- leadingzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Ye Xiangting from Yelou Village in the Yangzhuang Township of Wugang City, Henan Province"
- was this information completely necessary to put in the post? - Jugm123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sites down
- Advenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe the PD needs to learn how to use a camera.
- monopoly41, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the camera is probably pointed at the ceiling
- Guano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol, iTony, you know what I'm talking about.
- altcountryman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm - they hand the Epoch Times out downtown, I need to start reading that. Hopefully this guy hasn't seen the Thai movie "Shutter."
- dutter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Amusing story. No digg though; I'd have to see this for myself first...
- Filoviridae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0[Stories from remote villages in China are usually true too.]
^ROFL - mathie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Like this is real....
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Forget onions, holy water, wooden steaks, the digg effect is how you foil a vampire.
- atf487, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh, *****. lens cover was on.
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No picture of the man.
No digg. - ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's garlic, not onions, right?
- nneonneo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dang it, is there *any* mirror of this? The server seems to have been subjected to the Digg effect.
- bertd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who diggs this, anyway? :s
- joker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oops! my bad! ..... forgot to take the lens cap off.
nevermind. - bluedepth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bet if you shave his head you'll see "666" or "999". :) You might also find a camera with a booger on it.
- scaaven2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh yes...
- hadak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bah. you beat me to it.
- TheWarrior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Yelou Village in the Yangzhuang Township of Wugang City, Henan Province"
That rolls off the tongue! =P - hifiDesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0alternate link:
http://www.theepochtimes.com/news/6-1-9/36705.html - deBSefyer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A bug in DRM software of the camera considered Ye Xiangting a copyrighted material.
- openbah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The police station chief told the reporter they have encountered two similar cases."
Wow, three people found in one village that were all impossible to photograph? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the PD. -

What is Digg?
