- mark_in_bc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34A digg for the title. It was very punny.
- lava, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14whoa, there was a warp in the tubes and I've stepped into fark.
- AgentMull, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I don't think we have the same definition of boiled eggs. Any boiled egg that has a runny yolk is not boiled enough for me.
- Telhai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7BBC News Site has the same article but with an image of the device: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/6040320.stm
With all those lights it's probably an effective cure for SADS as well..
I, for one, welcome our new egg overlords. - drapelyk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7it was pretty punny...
a lot of people don't know what [reply] means... - airmann90, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm pre-ordering right now... I hope this isn't a yolk...
- Sp0rAdiC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Hopefully, the machine will become a common household item like a toaster," he said.
Not gonna happen. It might be a fad item, but it's too specialized to be a huge hit. - ketsugi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Sounds like them Brits like their eggs soft-boiled and you... I dunno, I'll assume you're Americans, you prefer 'em hard-boiled.
I'm with the Brits on this one. There is nothing quite like drinking an egg down off a saucer. :) - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Title pun says it all...
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5-.-
that is pretty awesome though. it wont be such a hassle to make them with this. - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Any egg that has a runny yolk is not edible to me.
- rushiku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Technically, it's baked. But, given everyone is used to calling an egg that's been cooked in its shell boiled, boiled still works.
If you take the egg out of its shell before boiling, it's called poached (or soup, if you don't do it right), but, you can make a poached egg in a frying pan, with no water. Again, it's the shape and general consistency you're after, not the cooking method. - lava, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5...come to think of it, that headline would have been passed over on fark.
- kippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4they're called soft boiled eggs.
the middle is runny so you can dip eggs in them. its not runny as in uncooked just gooey. everyone in england eats them.
you cut toast into strips called soliders. - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10and it certainly isn't "perfect." Goddamn brits with their bad teeth and bad food . . .
- mbwilliamson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4FTA: "Once cooked, the top of the egg is lopped off at a circumference of 1.5 inches (40 millimetres), just wide enough for dunking in toast."
How do you dunk a boiled egg in toast? - Salviati, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Well I'm glad some one is creating this invention. I hate having to dirty a pot and waste a lot of electricity and time to make a few hard-boiled eggs. I would much rather have a simple counter-top device to do it for me. I actually thought of the same concept last year, but the R&D would be too time intensive for a poor college student (or so I thought). +digg .
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Technically wouldn't this be a baked egg? I'm just being anal.
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3We have our eggs hard boiled in sandwiches and things, but when we're dunking our soldiers, you've got to have a runny yolk!
- DeltaZ113, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3wait...
boiled... but no water...
confusing... - blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Except you can't really call them hard-boiled anymore. Just hard.
- CptPhillips, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm pretty sure 4 Halogen bulbs will use more electricity than your stove. Still , it's worth it. I love eggs, from my head down to my legs, I love eggs! The incredible edible egg!
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1put it in micro-oven. what happens?
- ayeroxor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Boil an egg without water You must be yolking"
I think you need a question mark I have one you can borrow. - wurzelgummage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't remember him getting an investment.
- MrSidnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn, I thought the Submitter was original enough to come up with the title.
- MoofTheStoof, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Laughter? Hell, must resist throttling the editor.
- MrSidnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How do you know?
- Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think I just hit my pun ration for the remainder of the month. Damn you, digg!
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't you have a basic grasp of the English language?
You dunk in toast. Toast is dunked in. You dunk toast into the egg. - Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2thats one bad yolk but anyway cool idea
- MrSidnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wtf? lmao.
- hinterteile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2wrong article?
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3And toasters aren't specialized? Or kettles? Or sandwich toasters? Or coffee machines? Or....etc
- Telhai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0see: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/graphics/2006/01/10/hfbestb10egg.jpg
- reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yes, out the anal
- data64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It will explode and make a huge mess. Don't ask how I found out :)
- ray901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0err.. R&D? - in WW11 the desert rats used to 'boil'/'fry' their eggs on their tanks the desert was so hot.
heat source, egg - R&D complete....
wonder how long this guy worked on his invention? - toMatto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Baked, boiled, whatever. It'll end up in the same place.
- BrutusCirrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A similar device was on the 'Dragons Den' on BBC2. And he got an investment even though it didnt work on the spot.
- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Too.. many.. egg puns.. must.. resist.. falling down in.. uncontrolled laughter.
- ATLBeer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2You drunk you toast into your egg....
- Comatose51, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Seeing the 10 super carriers we have makes me all giggly... and those are super carriers. They're about twice as big as the French carrier, which is about as good as any other than the US. Talk about projection of power!
- dunning, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1dugg for the clever title
- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3The title is the worth the digg
- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1no phuckin photo?
- Dotcommer, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Mm...no...the title..was ***** retarded. It actually made me wince as I read it. The conecpt and the article however.. very cool.
