- PleaseJustDie, on 02/28/2008, -0/+307Anyone else wish the article had a picture of the guy's eye?
- dotlizard, on 02/28/2008, -1/+267that is just the weirdest thing. i would give my eye teeth to understand how that works...
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -1/+262"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" ... now a tooth for an eye.
- MWeather, on 02/28/2008, -6/+204He gets his eyesight back and uses it to watch TV....
- jazzyjeff84, on 02/28/2008, -0/+145You really don't but here it is anyway...

- rabidg00se, on 02/28/2008, -9/+78Guys. It was a joke. Calm the ***** down.
- TKidd, on 02/28/2008, -1/+69This article needs more detail. I have no clue what the heck is going on here.
- roadnottaken, on 02/28/2008, -3/+69Another "gross but brilliant" idea. Or is that "brilliant but gross"???
- borez, on 02/28/2008, -1/+64That'll make for an interesting trip to the dentist
- cmyk, on 02/28/2008, -0/+58Osteo-Odonto-Keratoprosthesis? We need a smaller name. Like...
...eye-dentures. - Harbinger67, on 02/28/2008, -0/+58Please, it isn't that bad. The guy was in an explosion involving red-hot liquid ***** aluminum; he's lucky to have a face.
- Dokument, on 02/28/2008, -0/+54WTF
- slvrbullet87, on 02/28/2008, -1/+49Western medicine kicks ass
- carbonetc, on 02/28/2008, -0/+46There are a lot of articles on Digg where you can get the gist of what's going on just by reading the headline and the description.
This is definitely not one of them. - sgtbutterscotch, on 02/28/2008, -0/+44I guess that's why they opted for a stock photo of someone's hand holding a cane.
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -0/+41Grandma always said 'Recycling will make you go blind"
- falstaff, on 02/28/2008, -1/+38Fail. The correct response is: "I see what you did there."
- ethanpack, on 02/28/2008, -5/+40Well they always said that the tooth will set you free...
- andrew606, on 02/28/2008, -4/+35its good to see the english working with teeth again.
- sctx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+29What in the hell. Teeth, the undiscovered cure-all.
- ru1dt, on 02/28/2008, -0/+29"Now I have enough sight for me to get around[,] and I can watch television."
at least he can watch television again... - TheExtendedName, on 02/28/2008, -0/+28Why did the son have to "donate" a tooth and part of his jaw? Did this guy have such poor dental health that he couldn't "donate" a tooth to restore his own vision. Or is this Harry Potter magic that requires a tooth of the son unwillingly taken.
- Harbinger67, on 02/28/2008, -0/+27After 15 hours of surgery, I'd want to sit on my ass and relax for a while too.
- Kola, on 02/28/2008, -5/+28ok ok now i have to say this. pardon the language but seriously what sort of ʇıɥs up pǝʞɔnɟ is that.
- Scynet, on 02/28/2008, -7/+30You just gave out perfect topics to discuss about this kind of stuff yourself. Instead of there being a joke on God, there's now a more deep discussion. This is how most religious discussion always begins - by people who just HAVE to voice their opinions, like the parent, you and me.
You even went as far as to bash atheists in the end yourself. I think that's a bit hypocritical. It's as if you want to argue against one of these groups without wanting to hear anyone else's opinions. - matperk, on 02/28/2008, -0/+23that really should be the first thing every person thinks.
- Khorpo, on 02/28/2008, -0/+18Dugg for the loud "WHAT THE *****?" I said at the office.
- kiiwii, on 02/28/2008, -0/+18Whatever excuse you want to use, go for it.
- dragon76, on 02/28/2008, -1/+18Well I guess it's no longer an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, but rather a tooth for an eye.
- DonLinguine, on 02/28/2008, -3/+20They're the same damn thing
- KennMac, on 02/28/2008, -2/+18That's great that aluminum can exist in liquid form and not glow red. But guess what, HOTTER liquid aluminum will glow red.
- bsurette, on 02/28/2008, -1/+17Crest: now available in saline.
- echolyean, on 02/28/2008, -0/+15The medical technique for recovering use of the 3rd eye is still being perfected.
- jazzyjeff84, on 02/28/2008, -1/+16http://www.independent.ie/multimedia/archive/00173 ...
- CrazedLeper, on 02/28/2008, -1/+15How'd the hell did you do that?!
- graemee, on 02/28/2008, -0/+13Yeah, I'd play Xbox, but most of you guys would just surf porn again.
- toggo, on 02/28/2008, -2/+15Dugg for upside down profanity!
- stackered, on 02/28/2008, -0/+13Who would think of implanting a tooth into an eye... wtf? Who originally created this method? Were they on crack?
- nomoreink, on 02/28/2008, -1/+13How did the hell did you do get such good grammar?
- xNIBx, on 02/28/2008, -0/+11Osteo = Bone
Odonto = Tooth
Kerato = The surface of your eye
Prosthesis = Addition/added in
Being greek helps with all these medical terms :P. Greek language is ideal for describing exactly what it is because you can compound many words together into a single term and it will still make sense(we greeks had modular languages way before C :P) - ChristianDKSD, on 02/28/2008, -1/+12i don't get this! They drill a hole in a tooth and inserts it into the eyesocket, and now he can see?
- lyso, on 02/28/2008, -1/+11Yeah, this is why every country with free healthcare has collapsed within a year.
Oh wait, no it hasn't, you're talking *****. - slvrbullet87, on 02/28/2008, -1/+11God fobid it might hurt a little to cure the blind. You take your pick on what is worse, pain for a few months, blind for 40 years
- dudetaz2003, on 02/28/2008, -0/+10This is the closest I could get to a definition. It looks like the nerve on the tooth connects to the optic nerve, and then they place a new cornea onto the tooth.

http://www.city.ac.uk/avrc/groups/cpo/example17.ht ... - Xanaver, on 02/28/2008, -0/+10What they did is they remove his sons tooth. They drill the tooth hollow where it is just a small ring of bone. Then they cut out the guys cornea (where the metal is). The doctors then put the ring of bone around his pupil. Then they put a new cornea on top of the ring of bone. All the bone/tooth is used for is a support.
- mgrest, on 02/28/2008, -1/+11It wasn't aluminum, it was aluminium. It was in Ireland...
- Thuktun, on 02/28/2008, -0/+9Anything heated to those temperatures will glow red. It's called thermal radiation and has nothing to do with the composition of the matter.
