- adasha, on 11/07/2009, -0/+6Bill Bryson has such a way with words, he could make me see the wonder of accounting if he wanted to.
- tonks01, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Bill Bryson was my JK Rowling, got me back into reading. Funny funny man.
- mrmaroon, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Bryson's starting to look on the old side.
Kinda sad, given that I grew up with him... - EliteBeat, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3I heard a theory on the Colbert report that some people say the univurse is going back in time or something is going back in time to stop the LHC because it messes something up.
Most likely this is not right but its kinda funny how something goes wrong every time they start it up - elperegrino, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Well, that explains the sandwich.
- askantik, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Why does this article quickly say that Switzerland isn't exciting? Switzerland is awesome.
- nonapp, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2LHC take two. Action!
- EliteBeat, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1meh, I don't claim to be a good speller or be good at grammar, in fact I know I'm not.
- thebreach, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1I am glad they were able to repair the LHC, aside that wayward piece of french bread that happened last week. But, you have to expect some troubleshooting on the most complicated device ever built my man.
May the Force be with you, LHC physicists - EliteBeat, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1I'll say this first. I only heard about it on the Colbert Report.
I think the theory was that the "universe" is going back in time to prevent something from maybe not killing it but messing it up. - TobiasParker, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1The theory is that the creation of the Higgs Boson particle is so abhorrent to nature that its very existence destroys reality. It is an extension of the multi-verse theory.
Thus the fact that we are still here is because increasingly unlikely events have to happen to stop the LHC from activating, because if it activated we wouldn't be here. For example, last week a bird dropped some break on a sensitive piece of equipment which caused a cooling system to fail and almost damaged the reactor.

oh and this
http://www.hasthelhcdestroyedtheearth.com/ - inactive, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Will Jesus rise out of the LHC and smite these heathens?
- PhoebusAl, on 11/07/2009, -0/+0dug for image saved as pdf.
- breadfred, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1A bit like your spelling, isn't it.
- tr909, on 11/07/2009, -1/+0Why would they go back in time if they exist from the LHC not destroying the universe?
