- flamingmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I think in your case its your blatent placement of a link to your website trying to harvest diggtraffic.
- threemagic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Genentics, my friend..
I am an otherwise very healthy person. My pulse rate remains in the low 60's with excellent blood pressure. I eat healthy (cooking with olive oil even) and exercise a little more then I should.
Yes, I have very, very bad cholesterol.. (my good cholesterol is in the good range.. it's the bad cholesterol.. you'd think I have bacon fat for blood.) - JackCampbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@arunforce
Not everyone is born healthy - abbott75, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8That was one hearty article!
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He didn't use "amazing".
- KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My personal favorite nodal tissue on the heart is the Perkinje's Fibers. Located in the ventricles
Named after the discoverer's dog! - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wonder if clowns could use it on their hands. You wouldn't suspect a thing!
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So will it not react with microwaves anymore?
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wonder if he was dissecting the dog to find it.
Naming it after the dog would be the least he could do. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow if that were true then it would truly be an amazing discovery!
Pacemaker owners could finally enjoy a hot pocket at their own accord =) - viking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mod this down please
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, I said you feel like you do all you can possibly do. You obviously feel that way since you got so offended that I implied that you might not be. You're misinformed about coconut oil... There was a lot of bad hype put out about it many years ago because it is a "saturated" fat, but there's studies that have even shown cause WEIGHTLOSS (as opposed to weight gain)....
Check out Mercola's article on coconut oil:
http://www.mercola.com/2001/mar/24/coconut_oil.htm
Or... this book on amazon about coconut oil:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1583332049/ref=nosim/102-7296006-3878561?camp=2025&dev-t=D26XECQVNV6NDQ&link%5Fcode=xm2&n=283155
Notice the all five star ratings on the book? There's a reason. Coconut oil is a trick of the trade, and key to promoting good health. It is anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial. In short... It is the *****.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not criticizing you, I'm just giving you the advice that has come from my family that has battled the cholesterol battle and been winning. - viking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it sounds like it would not react to any EM fields from microwaves to pinches :) very cool stuff
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahhh hahahaha.... Well, we digg'ers do like to save-a-buck by being hefty do it yourselfers!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think you mean genetics. But the truth is a lot of people just throw up their hands and say genetics when they feel they've done "all they can possibly do." Things to take out of your diet: vegetable oil, any fried foods, ANY fast foods, preservatives, any hydrogenated oils/trans fats (almost ALL packaged food has this), and yes... soy. Things to add to your diet: coconut oil, and fish oil for the omega 3s... and as many vitamins as you can get from natural sources. I use a vitamix and grind up all organic vegetables and fruits for all of the phytonutrients and vitamins. You'd be surprised how sweet uncooked vegetables taste (and how many more nutrients they have because they're raw).
Take the fish oil, eliminate the transfats, and take coconut oil and I can almost guarantee you'll see the bad cholesterol drastically drop. - billygoatzz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1When I read it the Title, for some reason I thought it said,
"Awesome: A pacemaker made from your own cell"
as in "cell phone".
I was like holy crap, some guy in his garage made a pacemaker from his cellphone! - tawnykw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is something that would have been great for me about 20 years ago. I've had a pacemaker since I was 3. I hope it saves a lot of other kids from multiple surgeries.
- threemagic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@tiabin
Right, like I've said I can't do anything about. Don't be an a$$.. of course I do what I can.
AND ACTUALLY, you are wrong.. coconut oil is actually bad cholesterol.
And I know how to spell genetics, the problem with anal grammar/spelling nazi's is you generally have far too much time on your hands while the rest of us are quickly typing so we can get back to work. - Ickster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just to nitpick (mostly because the distinction is fairly important), all pacemakers do is keep heart rate (and maybe rhythm in multi-chamber models) in check. The devices you're refering to are Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators (ICDs) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Devices (CRT-Ds). Both incorporate the functionality of a simple pacemaker, but are vastly more complicated and expensive devices.
A pacemaker runs about $5K, an ICD about $35K, and CRT-D about $50K. - Ickster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Because there's little in the way of lifestyle choices associated with Bradycardia? We're not talking about coronary artery disease here.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Congrats on using YADB (yet another Digg buzzword). You truly are a master of garnering diggs...
Cool article though. Just had to vent about the use of "amazing". ;-) - arunforce, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Why not just live a healthier life?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -21/+3What the hell is with all the neg diggs on comments?
