- tzmartin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think people are confused between the terms religious and spiritual, atheism and agnostic and God rather than a God. A lot of comments lean towards the fundamentals of agnosticism, rather than true atheism. Being an atheist assumes there is no God in a similar fashion that Christianity believes in "God"... the underlying logic assumes you have the knowledge, or facts, to make an educated decision.
I think our society doesn't understand the difference, if at all, and that breeds fear. Those that embrace the fundamental question of "Who am I?" are those that tend to question the institution of religion imposed by society. Or at least question their own beliefs based on facts they possess.
