Is this senator a democrat or republican?
Go! - Takfam, on 07/07/2009, -8/+291According to Fox News, she's a Democrat.
- RandomEarthling, on 07/07/2009, -5/+270The Stupid. It Burns.
Dugg for that image alone. - daschupa, on 07/07/2009, -2/+213Pfft, they're all idiots, Arizona is only 97 years old, it was admitted to the US in 1912. Idiots.
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -5/+186John McCain was born before this woman's timeline apparently.
- ldailey06, on 07/07/2009, -3/+183duh...God put that uranium in the ground already partially decayed, just to ***** with our heads.
- whahaa, on 07/07/2009, -5/+183you know 0 people?
- decker12, on 07/07/2009, -12/+168Everyone knows that Arizona is actually 6005 years old. She needs to get her facts straight.
- appleseed1234, on 07/07/2009, -3/+143And we wonder why NASA can't get any funding. People keep reaping what they sow by re-electing these ***** morons.
- Kohaxx, on 07/07/2009, -35/+174This is the south, and she is a dumbass...sooo Republican?
- bobartig, on 07/07/2009, -2/+118I want to write to this senator right now and try to explain to her how startlingly contradictory her statement is, and how she violates any shred of credibility in less than 1 minute of talking time, but I'm afraid that sending her email will give me Internet Brain Herpes.
- sharkd, on 07/07/2009, -6/+115Technically, Arizona is in the area of the United States known as "the Southwest"
- skintigh, on 07/07/2009, -7/+97Fox News has a long history of putting "(D)" next to the name of someone who just made a fool of themselves, no matter how long they have been a Republican. I have seen dozens of screen shots of them doing that.
Take Mark Sanford, for instance
http://crooksandliars.com/logan-murphy/shocking-fo ...
Anyway, she's a Republican according to the Google:
http://www.google.com/search?q=arizona+State+Senat ... - costumemaker, on 07/07/2009, -10/+94technically it is 6,000 years old in the same way its technically 1 million years old, but more accurately it's roughly 4.5 billion years old.

- RealmDown, on 07/07/2009, -4/+75Shhhh! He's being divisive.
- Hetman, on 07/07/2009, -2/+72***** they might as well go back to believing the world is the center of the solar system. I mean this is just absurd.
- custal, on 07/07/2009, -3/+72She didn't. Just take a look at her voting record.
- AdmiralAcbar, on 07/07/2009, -4/+73... you need to learn how to pluralize.

- TVarmy, on 07/07/2009, -1/+60Where do you live? Here in NJ, all my creationist friends lean decidedly right. It's fun to try to reason with them, if by fun you mean frustrating.
- Jektal, on 07/07/2009, -6/+64That word you keep using. I do not think it means what you think it means.
- bubba9999, on 07/07/2009, -5/+61You can try to separate yourselves from the South all you want. We all know better.
- kingmanic, on 07/07/2009, -3/+58You must not be well acquainted with science. Science contains an element of politics just like all other human endeavours. The only difference is a mechanism to correct the damage politicking can do to the truth. Science rewards those who overturn incorrect ideas so there is a great motivation for the new generation of scientists to question the old and once the influential old guard die their incorrect ideas begin dying as well.
- pintomp3, on 07/07/2009, -7/+62It's sad that these religious fundamentalists keep getting elected to office. This one is even a doctor, how on earth did he pass biology?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JyvkjSKMLw - GABACALM, on 07/07/2009, -2/+57She also occasionally votes on state legislative issues??? Maybe that's because she's a STATE senator, as the description of the article so clearly points out. So I guess you can go ahead and pass out those "E-points" to just about everyone else who read this.

- LiThiuMElectro, on 07/07/2009, -12/+60If you believe the earth is not 6000 you support the terrorist, drug addicts, gay rights, abortion clinics, communism and probably socialism as well.
- zadadka, on 07/07/2009, -6/+53When will these blinkered fools understand that the Bible is a book of short stories, not a technical manual?
- thanakar, on 07/07/2009, -4/+50Some people need to quit taking the Bible so literally.
- manlyandy, on 07/07/2009, -3/+48What? The age of the earth is a scientific matter you dunce.
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -2/+46How do they explain buildings that over 6,000 years old? There's quite a few man made objects that are left over from way longer than 6,000 years old. How do they explain background radiation? How do they....oh screw it, they're just insane.
- BoneheadFarker, on 07/07/2009, -1/+44To answer all of your questions:
God did it. - GorfTron, on 07/07/2009, -6/+47The people are ignorant/religious.
- Zinite, on 07/07/2009, -0/+41Thank you, I just emailed her.
Dear Senator,
I recently viewed a video of you discussing the mining of uranium in our great state of Arizona. While I am for such a measure, it deeply concerns me that you would postulate that the earth it 6,000 years old. It is because of decayed radioactive uranium that we can take measurements that show that the earth is in fact billions of years old. While I am not one to condemn others religious views, the senate is surely no place for religious mythology. Please consult any accredited scientist before making such an outlandish claim.
Thank you, - pintomp3, on 07/07/2009, -2/+42Silly, the whole world isn't the center. Just America.
- elitedw, on 07/07/2009, -0/+39she said "earths" been here for 6000 years. So yeah its a problem.
- angusm, on 07/07/2009, -2/+40It's odd to hear words like "technology" and "uranium" in the same utterance as an assertion that the Earth is six thousand years old. Young Earth Creationists should really limit themselves to talking about things they actually know about, such as burning bushes and plagues of frogs.
The real irony is that Senator Allen is obviously ready to accept what science has to say about the decay of uranium isotopes in nuclear reactors, but not what it has to say about the decay of carbon isotopes in rocks. The fact that she can't see the contradiction there may be at the root of her problems of understanding. - thebigredcat, on 07/07/2009, -2/+39Let's look at her argument without the her willful ignorance of the age of the Earth. Her argument is that Earth is X number of years old. Earth has survived without environmental regulation. Therefore, environmental regulation is unneeded. She omits that until very recently we didn't have 6 billion people on the planet and there was no real heavy industry prior to the early 1800's, which creates a huge environmental impact.
- Enkairi, on 07/07/2009, -2/+37Goes right along with this
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/172/431306643_528c6 ... - psunut5, on 07/07/2009, -4/+39The Bible provides a complete genealogy from Adam to Jesus. You can go through the genealogies and add up the years. You'll get a total that is just over 4,000 years. Add the 2,000 years since the time of Jesus and you get just over 6,000 years since God created everything.

God I love people that believe this. No matter how hard you try, you cannot ever have an intelligent conversation with them since they believe in the unbelievable. Nothing they say can be proven, but they will always be right lol... Humanity cracks me up. - frieddonuts, on 07/07/2009, -3/+36Phil Plait is a person too, it's not like scientists are ethereal beings who have to be above petty human debates. It scares him that a person who believes that the world is only 6000 years old is in charge of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.
- ladysherwood, on 07/07/2009, -2/+35creationists are the leading cause of "hurty-brain."
