- Smwbigboss, on 11/21/2007, -1/+70"But the next time you swat a fly, or squish a spider at home, Braddy said, try to "think about the insects that lived long ago. You wouldn't want to swat one of those."
Think about what it might evolve into. KILL IT NOW! - JayD16, on 11/21/2007, -2/+40Speak for yourself! I can't wait until we can clone these things and we'll all have epic mounts.
- drknownothing, on 11/21/2007, -7/+36It's good that it doesn't exist today.
- sockpuppets, on 11/21/2007, -2/+29We'd club and eat it just like everything else in the food chain.
- jorisb, on 11/21/2007, -0/+21more info here

- enivid, on 11/21/2007, -3/+20was bigger than *a* car.
Homer: "Linguo dead?"
Lingo: "Linguo is dead." - ggrav, on 11/21/2007, -8/+25Cool. I swear I've seen cockroaches that big in New York City.
- Canadacdn, on 11/21/2007, -2/+18Attack it's weak spot for MASSIVE DAMAGE?
- Maeser, on 11/21/2007, -5/+20Scorponok?
- banmaster, on 11/21/2007, -3/+14Nah, Rudy doesn't spend a lot of time there any more.
- markp93, on 11/21/2007, -1/+12Was it bigger than a Beetle?
- famikon, on 11/21/2007, -1/+11It's the Cloverfield monster
- j1ggy, on 11/21/2007, -2/+12I does. I had one of those at Red Lobster.
- Furkle, on 11/21/2007, -1/+10lmao, http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20070 ...
- sockpuppets, on 11/21/2007, -1/+10If your car has 8 feet you might be a Flintstone.
- inactive, on 11/21/2007, -4/+13A dupe within 3 hours of the original, I think you beat the record.
- dyrshin, on 11/21/2007, -1/+9"..Bigger than Car"
Ok, I imagined this ridiculously large scorpion, possibly like a hummer sized (hummer being larger than a car). Granted, for a scorpion, 8 feet is huge, but comparing it to a smart car? I think I can step on a smart car, kinda maybe. - Enigmaster, on 11/21/2007, -1/+8Technically, we all should just kill the big ones. That way, we put some kind of artificial selection pressure, so they evolve to tiny little things that don't even bother humans anymore :)
- inactive, on 11/21/2007, -1/+8Clash of the Titans?
- abenton, on 11/21/2007, -3/+10Honey... we're gonna need a bigger can of Raid
- thespudmall, on 11/21/2007, -13/+20But will it blend?
- LaSepultura, on 11/21/2007, -2/+9Did anyone watch the ant video on the bottom? Thats pretty crazy also. Flies that inject eggs into ants' heads.
- Jargonaut06, on 11/21/2007, -1/+8Misleading title - more like a crayfish than a scorpion, and 8'x4' is not "bigger than a car".
- DjOverEZ, on 11/21/2007, -2/+8"Ancient Scorpion Was Bigger Than Car"
But nothing will be bigger than the Beatles! - birdspot, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5the fire ant video at the bottom of the page was better...
- doktorrocket, on 11/21/2007, -1/+6I think it's a great idea. If the fly population ever becomes a problem, we'll simply import a bunch of South American frogs to eat them, thereby solving the problem ONCE AND FOR ALL.

- TheSnuffster, on 11/21/2007, -1/+4"...and at 8 feet long as big as some Smart cars."
- riggs32, on 11/21/2007, -1/+4well im sure if your scared ***** of tiny spiders, a 6 foot scorpion would probably make you have a heart attack .
- sockpuppets, on 11/21/2007, -1/+4Honey? Heeellloooo? Honeeeeey?
- Memnochxx, on 11/21/2007, -1/+4Well, both are arachnoids.
- SlipstreamLucas, on 11/21/2007, -1/+4i see what you did there.
- yankeesfan, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3"We have known for some time that the fossil record yields monster millipedes, super-sized scorpions, colossal cockroaches, and jumbo dragonflies. But we never realized until now just how big some of these ancient creepy-crawlies were," he said.
Someone's been watching too many cereal commercials. - bahamutxd, on 11/21/2007, -0/+2God forbid this spawn a sequel to 8 legged freaks.
- totetite, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2ancient sea scorpion = giant lobster
yumm ... - CrackyJSquirrel, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3buried as ALREADY POSTED A COUPLE HOURS AGO!
- wedgemartin, on 11/21/2007, -0/+2And each time the size of the sea bug keeps getting bigger.
- chilipeppers4u, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3You'd think Discovery news would be more scientific than "biggest bug ever". I'm guessing they mean the biggest arthropod ever (group that includes insects, spiders, scorpions and crustaceans)
- yournamehere, on 11/21/2007, -0/+2Brought to you by Fishy Joe's: Ride the Walrus
- zhouray, on 11/22/2007, -1/+3I did, I thought it was more interesting.
- DarkRabbit, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2Yeah.... the mom thing is SO 2002
- Phyltre, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2"But--"
"ONCE AND FOR ALL!" - Matri, on 11/22/2007, -0/+2Exactly. Doesn't matter if it is or isn't a true arachnid. If you're scared of multi-legged insects and you see a multi-legged insect the size of a Lear Jet, you sure as hell won't be stopping to classify it before screaming in terror.
- motters, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1If the scorpion was as big as a car how big were the fish that ate it?
- rockdawg, on 11/21/2007, -0/+1RAD
- OptimismPrime, on 11/22/2007, -0/+1Dug for the CRTL-ALT-DEL refference, but from a 'logical' point of view.....that statement is false because insectoid mounts are either just "Blues" and rideable in An'Qiraj or they're Legendary, but there are no Insectoid Epic Mounts to date...
- contradictator, on 11/22/2007, -1/+2Hail Megatron!
