- INTERNETMASTER, on 06/11/2009, -0/+62stupid brain. that's the last time I trust you
- DouglasQ, on 06/11/2009, -1/+43You should've stopped listening to it when it told you to call yourself 'INTERNETMASTER'
- BobTheTaco, on 06/11/2009, -3/+28I think I accidentally my brain.
- mediaphile, on 06/11/2009, -2/+23They used it to pretty good effect in this music video: http://www.keithschofield.com/goose/
The guy who directed that video has done some other interesting videos, my favorite being One Block Radius' "Loud and Clear": http://www.keithschofield.com/1br-video/ - ironeus, on 06/10/2009, -0/+18If you pick 1 corner and stare at it you can see the full 360-degree rotation; very cool illusion.
- acceleration, on 06/11/2009, -0/+17You should go to England sometime. Apparently they have many British guys talking there.
- marciot, on 06/11/2009, -0/+12I had the windows in my house done by Ames, and the stairs done by Escher. It's pretty wild. When I go upstairs I end up in the basement, and when I walk up to a window, I end up in the front lawn.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -2/+13That man was constantly talking for the entire video but I didn't follow a word he said.
- VelvetoneFusion, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8Here's I'll sum it up for you:
"This is a pretty cool optical illusion." - inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5I'd rather go to Australia tbh...
- shniper, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5How do I get one of these?
- lovek, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3Yes, but it's ok. As long as you don't try to marry yourself.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3But what about the Swine Flu?
- Ceryn1126, on 06/11/2009, -1/+4The whole thing?
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+4dugg for the British guy talking...
- VelvetoneFusion, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3First thing I thought after reading the title: Didn't Ames go out of business, like, 10 years ago?
- hazard99, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3Doesn't work for me. I'll see if it does when I'm more awake.
- InverGoatie, on 06/11/2009, -1/+3Or you could try Scotland, Wales or Nothern Ireland. They have many British people there too.
- RedSquaree, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2This video is a lot better than that other YouTube video.
- robmmiller, on 06/11/2009, -1/+3I saw this back in the 80's on Mr. Wizard.
- tgc1, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2Looks like a Scooner.... oh... wait... no... it's just a Sail Boat.
- NakedDemon, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2I don't get it. I'm probably just drunk.
Yup, I am. - MrOmniscient, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2If you like this illusion, you'll like the optical illusions of Jerry Andrus. This video is a little slow to get to the point, but a lot of his illusions are remarkable.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-418090234 ... - inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2HEAD ASPLODE
- PottSie2, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I'd like to see a pantomime artist get through that window!
- 1ofMany, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Takes me back to High School 1977.
(Did I just date myself?) - Ibox, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1don't mind me just markin' the spot...
- amplifiedshock, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Mmhmm... mmhmm.
- marciot, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1It's actually easy to make. It's just a pattern which can be printed on cardboard and cut out, then mounted on a spinning shaft. If you want to find plans, do a search for "Ames window pattern" on "books.google.com". The very first result is the book "The Nature of Visual Illusions". There is preview of pages 61-63 which allows you to make something resembling an ames window. I would include a hyperlink, but it's massive and possibly would not work.
- Lightnin4000, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Yeah, you just have to recognize that the window isn't rectangular like an actual window. I had to watch it again after reading the description in order to get it.
- Contajeerus, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Proof that our brains suck!
- themastersb, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1My brain somehow managed to work it out after tripping out the first time round.
- lartones, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Didnt blow my mind.. but it is pretty cool. Easy to figure out how it was done just from watching one rotation.
- Kinneas12, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Haha I was off to find this link but thought I'd check if it was posted.
Now people are going to discover the full music video to "Pi" and think "oh wow look what "I" found!" - Glayden, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1all I see is a weirdly shaped rotating window with a stick in it =[
sounds really cool though... - sinembarg0, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1He also did When I Wake Up, which has been on digg before.
- MuadDave, on 06/11/2009, -2/+2Yeah, but he didn't say a single thing that I understood. It just sounded like an elderly British guy talking with marbles in his mouth.
- DaryLintheDark, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1i saw one of these a long time ago, but it's still completely f-ing cool
- tacodealer, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1I remember seeing this on Mr. Wizard's World back in the 80s. He explained it better.
- toucha, on 06/11/2009, -2/+2build a window they said
- BraveLilToasta, on 06/11/2009, -4/+4All I can say is, Sham....WOW!!!
- Janv1er, on 06/11/2009, -3/+3I watched the video. My mind is still intact.
- levi88, on 06/11/2009, -1/+0My mind has been sufficiently blown.
- skylicious, on 06/11/2009, -2/+1***** i still don't get it.
- cl2yp71c, on 06/11/2009, -2/+1You mean we actually have to listen to that little voice?
- evilesttoast, on 06/11/2009, -2/+1Yeah, I figured that out just by looking at it and realizing what they had done. It didn't blow my mind sadly :(
- immatellyouwhat, on 06/11/2009, -3/+2For some reason when the guy says perspective, he reminds of Anton Ego from Ratatouille.
- flyingsquirle, on 06/11/2009, -3/+2Wow awesome video and actually a good song!
- NJSlacker, on 06/11/2009, -4/+2O.O
- dougm68, on 06/11/2009, -4/+1This inventor is an idiot and is easily amused. Invent a new fuel for my car so I can drive to ball games without paying $5 a gal for gas NERD!
