Not exactly live if you ask me. - Eric4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Got my webcam program loaded on my server and saving every image. If this thing erupts, I'll have every image of it so I can make a time lapse and post it on Digg for everyone.
- Eric4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please read. It says 30 minute update times. For anyone interested, I have a program running that is constantly saving any new images. I'll provide an archive of every picture from here: http://ehost.serveftp.com:443/volcano/ Already have 2 images in the archive.
- slack31337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0can't we get a volcano RSS feed or sumthihn?!?!?!? alaska is so behind the times :)
- jnorris441, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That looks like magma to me....
http://www.avo.alaska.edu/webcam/augustine2.php - alterself, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0not exactly getting refreshed either...did it erupt and take out the webcam?
- DisgruntledDave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0in the time it took for this to get the the front page, the warning has been lowered. :/
- chandler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is it happening right now? looks like it :/
- super_structure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No, dude. Sad that there are so many people here like that though, huh?
I do have some good friend that live there. Wouldn't now be the best time be up there? Of course, they live near Fairbanks; I doubt you could see much of the volcano from there. Hopefully, they'll survive the nuclear winter, though. Oh, wait, they're Alaskans. They can survive it if anyone can. - razzamatazz42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"can't we get a volcano RSS feed or sumthihn?!?!?!? alaska is so behind the times :)"
No we're not; the RSS feed is here:
http://lava.net.images.alaska.edu/caps/cap_rss.xml - thehickoks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's 17F right now here in Anchorage
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its the event you have been waiting for!
- super_structure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I can see that volcano from my house, but I'm at college right now."
Let me guess, your college isn't in Alaska? You Alaskans, always coming to the US and taking up spots in our schools that could be going to American citizens. Why don't you just go back to your own country, were you belong? Oh wait... :) - aguita, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome. I was there the last time it went off -- '86.. I was quite young at the time, but it was very cool to see all the pictures of it happening.
- JROCKinAK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I live in Anchorage and this is big news, they are making sure that everyone is prepared for the ash if the wind changes direction!!!
- rft3rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0erupted again. ash is drifting east this time...right towards homer. not much ash is expected though.
DOH! - akcanuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work at a credit union in Alaska and we had a meeting last week and we have to be prepared to come in and clean off all our branches. That will be a big pain in the ass. All the ATM's have to be covered. I sure hope it doesn't blow toward Anchorage.
- Sparticuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I went to a small town on the opposite side of the Cook Inlet this summer with my youth group for a mission trip. The view was amazing from Ninilchik. We had heard stories that it was due to erupt again.
- chicagobiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LTrain you're aware that Google Maps images are about a year old, so your post is just for geographical reference I hope.
- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks LTrain!
- LTrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Chicagobiker -

- rft3rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0according the the site the eruption happened on the 11th at around 4am local time

Augustine portion of daily Status Reports. Posted in mid to late afternoon.
clcik on the two updates for the 11th,
Great work on the collection of screenie, using forward and back on firefox gives a nice time lapse video.
good digg! - afty8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0erupted again. ash is drifting east this time...right towards homer. not much ash is expected though.
- le0ne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn, wish it had waited 2 more weeks. I'll be on Augustine in 10 days to put more instrumentation on. Nice webcams!
- nebunezzar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0If the winds blow north and it erupts soon then my flight's going to be cancelled and I'll be late for school. Stupid volcano.
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is going to be just like the movie Dante's Peak!
Maybe not... - Gundam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I can see that volcano from my house, but I'm at college right now.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Err... I was so ready to flame you until the end of that post. lol
