- thepharmacist, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20Yeah, science is so like lame and like boring and like so hard !
Dumbass teenagers. - Celeron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Science and mathematics is the future. America's children and teenagers need to get this fact inside their tiny brains. No wonder we're the largest producer of dumbasses.
- SouthernDigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10If you like that then this might interest you as well.. http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/
- mrvalue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Here's a more functional one made in flash (better for chemistry courses): http://www.touchspin.com/chem/SWFs/pt2k60104w.swf
- SidU, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The AJAX Periodic Table is much better, though it seems to be down at the moment; http://code.jalenack.com/periodic/ Heres it in action; http://www.flickr.com/photos/elliott-back/53585753/ It's almost lightbox like with the information.
Edit: Heres another demo; http://www.bleakgeek.com/code/periodic-table/ - atlex2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i wish you could view the elements in the flash player and not just in a new window
but it is still pretty awesome - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I believe Theodore Gray's is far more useful and prettier than this one, which I frankly don't even get what's so cool and interactive about. Clicking on image links doesn't really qualify as "interactive" in my book. That's part of any static web page. Or does it become interactive then just because it's Flash? :-p
- Bleakvoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@FunkyGuy: Actuallly, yes. I'm graduating in about 5 days (thankfully). And quite frankly, I despise most of the rabble they let pass through the upper grades. They simply don't care enough (at least here in California) to try hard enough to pass a test that the average 6th grader can score 80% or better on with ease. I've found that consistantly, there's only two or three of us, myself included, that actually enjoy learning challenging subjects like chemistry and physics.
- Lousansano, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i used this table for a report a while ago, its pretty cool.
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yea actually i used this for an elements project back in 5th grade.
- Mujklob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are you using Firefox, Opera? If you're using Fx, try getting a customizable tabbed browsing extension. You can easily set it so new windows will always open in new tabs, etc. It's always nice for me, seeing as I hate getting clogged up with new windows.
Anyway, thanks for link. I believe I've seen this before somewhere, randomly searching on google or something. It's a very neat table, but I think it'd be much better if it all worked nicely in flash instead of new windows.
Fun fact, do you see the letter "J" appearing anywhere on that table? - dharm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3how can this be?
Chuck Norris destroyed the Periodic Table of the Elements because the only element Chuck Norris recognizes is the element of surprise - jrepin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah I like this one a lot and also use it. In addition to Kalzium application: http://edu.kde.org/kalzium/
- Vector713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i saw this on a poster in a chem. teacher's classroom once, this is by far better though, very awesome
- FuzzyLumpkins76, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Wow... something cool and interactive made it to the front page... and its not even AJAX!
Neat enough, but I do agree that it is a little ugly/busy. - brandizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That's actually kind of fun. Maybe they should use fun, interactive periodic tables in highschool then I wouldn't have hated studying it so much.
But too bad the elements open in new windows, and not in flash. I can't even get them to open in new tabs =( - zgystardst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This does have the coolest images of any periodic table I've seen.
It also has cool animations. Check out scandium, for instance. www.chemsoc.org/viselements/anim/
There are also wallpapers and desktop patterns. The mercury screensaver is pretty cool. www.chemsoc.org/viselements/pages/page4.html - foomandoonian, on 10/12/2007, -11/+10Dupe http://digg.com/science/Flash_Version_of_the_Periodic_Table
Sorry, I know that's lame, but I have to say that at least once if I'm going to be posting on digg :P - yeahbuddy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Umm, why are the images/desktop patterns on the download page .exe files? I dun theenk sew....
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I've never seen the word cool and periodic table in the same sentence.
edit: oops, said before :( - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I can't believe i counted about *30* elements that I'VE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF!!!
crap. - FunkyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1arg arg I'm some old guy who doesn't like teenagers and thinks they're all stupid
Any of you teenage-bashers actually in high school? - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I wish I could download the elements, but all I get is a bunch of 0s and 1s.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I guess you guys can now prove how tons and tons of metal can not evaporate into a wall.....like the Pentagon for instance.
- Wickerman392, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I can't find Bolognium...
MMMM... Bolognium /me drools - kalmi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1What do you like about it?
I think it is ugly...But I see it is just my opinion. - macman06, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1shut the ***** up! quit with the ***** dupe!
NOBODY CARES!! - Celeron, on 10/12/2007, -6/+041 days ago... Pfff.
- hoodwinked, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0i never thought id see "really cool" and "periodic table" in the same sentence
lol nerdy nerd nerds xD - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Periodic table = cool?
HEAD EXPLODES - seraph741, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2"Yeah, science is so like lame and like boring and like so hard !"
its true though! especially when u get into organic! lol - jadoo, on 10/12/2007, -32/+3I have enough chemistry in High School. I don't want to see a periodic table

What is Digg?
