- Louis11, on 11/14/2008, -0/+7If i'm not mistaken HDR is a method of editing images . . .
- BrianOl, on 11/14/2008, -0/+7Dugg because he didn't say "amazing" and also because he didn't claim it would be the most resplendent cloud I'd see today.
- rawheadrex, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6I hate to say this, but... it looks 'Shopped. Check out the largest "Original" size image, and how there are smudges here and there along the tree line, yet, the clouds, supposedly in the background, are all in perfect.... almost "too good" focus.
Also... I mean... check out the EXIF. Fuji FinePix 470?? You've got to be ***** me. Some of his other photos in that set also look shopped, and definitely do not look like they were taken with a FinePix 470, even if he did tons of enhancements in Elements 4.0 (also in the EXIF). - jdoublehcubed, on 11/14/2008, -2/+8Awesome example of HDR (high dynamic range) imaging. Thats what llows that awesome color. Check out more HDR images on here:

- Brassbud, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4Yeah, you're right, I can tell by the shadows.
/sarcasm
But seriously, I see what you mean. To me this looks like an HDR photo, which means it was probably run through a varity of different softwares, each of which could cause the effects you are talking about. - Brassbud, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4He's not your buddy, guy.

- KixEvilCereal, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2I dugg this just because you didn't use the word "epic".
- Krnballerzzz, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2That looks amazing. But, it also kind of looks like a mushroom cloud :O
- mikbunn, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2I'd be ducking and covering if I saw that.

- rawheadrex, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I can't find where he says that, although that would be a dead giveaway.
I'm obviously not against fabricated photos on Flickr; as an artistic composition, anything goes, and this is very nicely done.
However, I'm no pro, but I know enough about photography to know that this is too perfect a photo. Lighting, focus, exposure, composition, timing. I'm not saying perfect photos aren't possible. but perfect photos are not taken with a Fuji Finepix 470 that you happened to have in your pocket, when you just chanced upon a perfect situation. And if the Flickr member here is trying to impress people by insinuating that he actually *shot* this photo, and he didn't, that's a bit disingenuous, me thinks. - Chesterfield, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1Not a High Dynamic Range photo by any definition. The term "HDR" is incorrectly used so much these days to describe any digital enhancements.
- Chesterfield, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1How can anyone not see the touch-ups? Look at the largest version - the center has JPEG artifacts while the edges of the cloud have none. Feathered and smeared aggressively towards the edges of the cloud with no noise whatsoever. Gaussian blur on the trees and surrounding sky with a visible edge. Super saturated. Anyone here ever do digital manipulation before?
