It seem that the maintenance team asked the pilot a low pass, and the pilot gave them a little something more.. just after take off-
The event was photographed and even taped (there is a video of this flight around) by the maintenance team.
The tape later ended on a General desk… Which brought the “gutty” pilot 30days of punishment, and another 30 days without flying..

For one thing the wingspan is probably 16-20 feet, he's above the cement runway, not the dirt in the background as some of the comments seem to think. Seems like he's at least 4 feet off the ground if not a bit more.

Now granted, another poster says this happened on takeoff, which might make it a bit simpler... but damn. not as impressive? really? the marginal difference in altitude between a wingtip 4ft and a few inches is what? half a thumb twitch on the stick? sheesh... nothing impresses digg anymore...

- jeffness, on 08/02/2009, -0/+6well, i gave you a thumbs up pal. you're right. ive taken tons of photographs that appear to show something that really isn't. the plane is really low, no doubt, but it's probably higher than it looks in the photograph due to problems of scale and distance in a 2d photograph.
