- rtfx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd rather meditate. It doesn't require going to some stupid web site.
- jdong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd also like some substantial proof that doing this actually helps my brain... And no, I'm not stupid, unless MIT is readily admitting stupid people :)
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It gave me a headache.
- offsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Instead of doing those same exercises over and over again, why not do the new ones that are posted daily at this site.
http://www.braingle.com/mind/index.php - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was obviously being sarcastic.
The real secret is to put a fork in the electrical socket. - nads, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0where are the answers? :o
- FzBravozf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use Sudoku... for my Mental Workout.
- yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hear learning things help also!
- Zoplax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The color exercise via the link sucks if you're red-green colorblind. :(
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As an aside, how much of the list was everyone able to memorize? I got up to 'midnight', so just over 2/3.
- osilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome exercises!!
def DIGG!! - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"where are the answers? :o"
In a PDF linked at the top of the page ;) - nonunique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd imagine this helps by comparison to just watching Jerry Springer all day...but if you have a job that requires any thought whatsoever, you are already operating on a higher plane than this "workout".
- eternalplay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone have a link to the research study they are referring to?
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cheers burke :)
- entropyfails, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dug it in the hopes that giving digg users a mental workout may increase the quality of the posts and the digg submissions. *grin*
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the list: 24 out of 30. I made a up a story.
- neggbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i feel brighter already
- petiejoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I was just about to point out the error in the triangle math... nilclop beat me to it.
- Spon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All I do is sit here staring at the screen with a "deer in headlights" look...
>80 - Anargeek77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I feel like I'll be able to solve that algo.....
- zoransa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is for dull persons. Play with your children, try to make them real game. It is easy to go to the shop and buy crown to your princess. Well make adventure game in which your kid deserves the crown!!! Try that. sounds simple but you will see how little imagination you have.
Brain exercising is not like going to gym. Try to animate people around yourself or to make some fun. You will see how your brain but also social intelligence grows. - fredtellum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where was that website about the mental thing?
- emostar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow... could this be any more simple? I get more of a "brain workout" when I'm coding.
- renskav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'm hung over. i dont feel any better after doing this.
- nilclop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anyone else notice that they put the wrong answer for the "Triangle Math" on the answer pdf? They accidentally put a 3 there instead of a 6.
- kablaaamo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't know about specific evidence, and I'll readily agree that writing code stimulates you more than the average puzzle, but the gear shift that doing silly puzzles provides always jolts me out of a rut, if I start getting tired while working. I do crosswords all the time, because I somehow ended up doing mostly technical work despite being a literary type of person, and I need to get the verbal part of my mind going. A momentary change is often good.
The puzzles at this link are too easy, but dugg anyhow. - renskav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'm still hung over btw..
- NotalesS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+digg. wow i do feel better
- chuckw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice, but the triangle math answer key is incorrect. Should be a 6 instead of a 3 as the left most digit in the first question. Correct answer is 29 ;)
- kickarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I also hear not being a fast lazy ass works too
- digitalhome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0HeadStrong has expanded upon the static exercises provided by Time into a "web 2.0" brain training experience. www.headstrongcognitive.com
- mindsinker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i retarded...
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"whats the best way to brake the terms of use?"
I hear they ban anyone that types "format c:" or "sudo rm -rf /" at a command prompt. I want to keep my account, so I haven't tried it, but if you really want to get b7, I think that's the way to go.
