- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13A great anti-thievery method.
- lithuin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Unless you like to smuggle small children around.
Then there's a very good reason. - frobozz0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12This just goes to prove that women are far dirtier than they ever let on.
- Lutja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Try stitching up all of your pockets for a few days. The pockets on womens jeans and trousers are so tiny - useless for holding anything. I love my combats :)
- SublimeRuin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11dirty girls....dirty dirty girls.....
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10And anymore they have those stupid pocketless jeans.
Just to get the word out coming from a male -- pocketless jeans are ~not~ sexy. They're just bizarre looking. - Antz0rz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11...
Wallet > Purse. :| - rtakach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I love how men get accused of pissing on the toilet!! How many times have I waited in line at a party to use the bathroom, and a girl comes out and there's piss dribbles on the seat? Too many times, because these girls accuse men of bad aim or something, but WHEN YOU HOVER ABOVE THE SEAT TO TAKE A PISS you will definitely get some piss dribbles on the seat...just like a man would if he failed to lift the seat.
If you're going to hover, just leave the seat up since none of you are actually going to sit on it, and don't complain when it's not magically left down for you, because you weren't gonna sit on it anyways. - geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9You do know that E. Coli is quite possibly the most studied and most prevalent bacterium known to man, correct? Sadly, we still live in an era where everyone doesn't wash their hands before touching *anything* else; this may be because women's hygenic needs are different, but they could still carry around some hand sanitizer...
Anywho, this is still one of those "duh" studies; someone just needed a topic for a paper and decided to do a study on the first thing that randomly came to their minds. Moral of the story? Wash your hands ladies. - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Women need to stop carrying purses-- they have ballooned to disproportionate sizes. What the hell do they carry in their?
- officecamel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes they are. I worked at Best Buy doing loss prevention, and had to check the women's restroom for stolen merchandise after the store closed...Their bathroom was consistantly the most disgusting thing I have ever seen....
- officecamel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Living proof that purses are nothing but hazards. There is no fathomable reason for someone to carry a damn bag around everywhere that you could fit a small child into.
- Xanin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Most E. coli (species name isn't capitalised btw) are actually harmless, it's only a few strains that cause upsets. E. coli are used in research, they are everywhere...a few bacteria never harmed anyone. Simple hygiene and not getting someone's piss on you is a no-brainer. Bah.
- rtakach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5seems to me that before a women calls something a man does "gross" they should step back and take a look at themselves. far too often is the primm and proper lady so high and mighty about her cleanliness that she forgets she puts her purse on the floor next to the *****.
and yeah, the the bathroom thing...i've never been in a ladies room but I've heard that they just disrespect it. i thought the guys getting piss on the floor next to the urinal was savage until I heard some of the horror stories about ladies rooms. - tchamp2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Considering the size of my wifes purse, this doesn't surprise me. More than likely someone once lived in it.
- missflibbles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't carry a purse. I find I'll put a bunch of extra crap in it that I don't need. Obviously, if you put your stupid purse on the floor near the toilet, it's going to pick up some nasty things. Stop doing that.
I've seen men's rooms that were much worse than the women's restrooms in the same building, but I don't think it has to do with women or men being any dirtier (except for pissing around the toilet, men). The wastecans in women's restrooms usually get gross, but it makes a difference who's cleaning it. At the store where I work, the men who clean it usually won't clean the women's room. - officecamel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My point exactly. Not all men are slobs, nor are all women...but, the womens restroom was always a wreck compared to the mens. The only good thing about the womens restroom is it had a nice smell because they are always spraying perfume etc...
- WiseWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4E. coli, while often used as an indicator of fecal contamination, are present in the environment in fairly large numbers. It's not surprising to isolate E. coli from any surface that isn't disinfected regularly. This report falls under the category of "who cares", as it has no relevance whatsoever. To actually be considered a health hazard, the concentration would have to be very high, and the report fails to quantify the presence of bacteria in the study. This does NOT mean that women need to disinfect their purses daily, but merely that they should stop listening to news reports hyping useless scaremongering like this.
- evilTak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Actually urine is sterile and antiseptic. If you're worried about bacteria, you should get someone else's piss on you.
- saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I personally agree, and carry a wallet in my pocket.
Can't count the number of times my male friends have been annoyed I wasn't carrying a purse just so they could pawn something off on me to carry, though. - earlysound, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Not only is there E. Coli on our purses, but we usually cover our hands in poo and walk around giving high fives! Doesn't everyone??
C'mon, guys. This is so alarmist. There's E. Coli on EVERYTHING, and you're not dead from it. Just try to remember to wash your hands before you eat. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3since i stopped biting my nails, 12 years ago, and started washing my hands religiously after going to the bathroom, i never get sick.
it's so obvious when guys wash their hands just because someone else is in the bathroom and they want to _seem_ clean. the water is on for 1 second, no soap and they're out the door without using the dryer. - officecamel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4On the money with that one! +Digg
- missflibbles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Oh yeah, I've seen some disgusting things at work in the ladies' room. Namely, five bloody smears on the wall. Of course, I work in sort of a bad part of town, and we have some nasty people who come in. I don't know about the men's room where I work, but I hear it isn't too bad.
- jayKayEss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So please; stop eating lunch off the bottom of your purses, Ladies.
- kindall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why would a woman put her purse on the floor beside the toilet? Isn't that what the hook on the back of the stall door is for? Even men's restrooms have them -- sometimes I hang my laptop bag there.
- mrhaines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I used to clean bathrooms and the womens bathrooms were always totally discusting compared to the guys. Guys may pee on the seat, but thats nothing compared to what girls do. Anything that is put on the floor of a womans bathroom should be considered a toxic hazard.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5+dugg SublimeRuin due to his Futurama reference...
- scstraus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exactly! Bacteria are everywhere, and it's all about the amount. There's e.coli bacteria all over your body too. Mythbusters tested toilet seats and found that they were the cleanest places in the house. Anyhow, gotta be scared of something, right?
- poshsuicide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3what the hell kind of person puts their purse down beside the toilet? gross!
- altcountryman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've read articles that recommend not using those hooks, because a thief might reach over and grap your bag while you're taking care of business. I'd probably still hang mine there, though, I really don't want to put my timbuk2 on the bathroom floor. Of course, I carry so much stuff in my bag that most thieves probably couldn't haul it over the door anyway.
- SpyDerMann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The alarming thought is that they keep their pads in their purses, too! O.O
- JayWright, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I think they're sexy. Just about anything is sexy on the right ass.
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well with what women wear today the only real means of storage are in their bra (if fortunate enough) and in their purse.
- beervolcano, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Then they need to have those hooks on the stall door to HANG my purse!
Not all places have them.. and its quite weird trying to hold it on my lap while I tinkle.. - swingsetacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would think it's as much about the type of bacteria as the amount. I'd rather get bitten by a cat with a load of bartonella henselae (cat-scratch disease) in its mouth than one with enough rabies (not a bacteria, but you get the point) to get me infected.
- rossb1, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1Dirty Diors?
http://discountcoachhandbags.ratrodbarn.com - japaneseempress, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1don't women put their purses on the door handles on the stall door? And if you don't have a handle because it's a ghetto bathroom, hold on to that purse for dear life... lol
- smurfmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why does that article focus on womens' purses so much? The same thing applies to backpacks, laptop bags, briefcases and pretty much every item people carry around these days. Newsflash: Bacteria are part of our daily livesand have been so for the last thousand years. If anything, we're exposed to LESS bacteria nowadays.
I bet tomorrow there'll be an article saying how we live in environments that are too clean... - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1her pockets? the smaller the pockets the bigger the purse?
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Why does that article focus on womens' purses so much?"
Maybe because that's what they chose to do the study on???
Just look at the first few words of the summary "A study was performed on women's purses" - lowededwookie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To be honest, Whoopy Doo.
Did anyone catch the episode of Myth Busters about the tooth brushes and ecoli?
There was ecoli on the brushes that hadn't even entered the bathroom. I personally think that it would take large amounts of ecoli to be dangerous if this is the case. It seems logical to expect that if there was so much ecoli floating around then the body would have built up a resistance to it. The only time it becomes dangerous is too much or a different strain. - MrBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hand dryers are actually not very sanitary.....I did some testing of the hot air dryers in my highschool like 6 or so years ago when I went there and they were some of the most disgusting growths in the petri dishes
- missflibbles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0not the used ones.
- MrBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its sterile and antiseptic with a healthy person.....not always the case...so dont go bathing in strangers urine just yet
- 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1remember everyone the size of a women's purse is directly proportional to the size of her...
it's a psychology subconscious advertisement, really! - kate8705, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0This is why I never put my purse on the floor of the bathroom, and never on a surface where I will have food or be eating. But what the study found was insane. And I can see it important for purses because so often we forget that they can carry bacteria and we just throw them wherever. It's just the same as where you keep your shoes.
- deenodino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 The presence of E. coli and other kinds of bacteria within our intestines is necessary for us to develop and operate properly, and for us to remain healthy - E. coli, along with other species of bacteria, provide us with many necessary vitamins for example. The bacteria make the vitamins, and we gladly absorb them. We pretty much depend upon E. coli in our intestines for our source of Vitamin K and B-complex vitamins.
Hooray for dirty purses. - SublimeRuin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Your forgetting about midgets....
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Uhh... masamunecyrus, yes they are. I prefer a thight fitting pair of them over a thight fitting pair with pockets... on a woman of course. HA!!!
Otherwise if you are fat and ugly, dont wear them because it makes your ass look FATTER in a bad way not the big booty sexy way.
