- swanny89, on 10/11/2007, -2/+50I was about to mention MacGuyver, but then I noticed everything was only useful for frugal middle-aged women.
- Iwantawii, on 10/11/2007, -1/+41101 Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things Listed 4 per ***** Page
- jonasmonster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+36"...but there's more magic to be found in the medicine cabinet."
I bet there is... - hiPpymIck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27"A stainless-steel colander is a perfect Martian helmet"
..theres no answer to that - alpine75, on 10/11/2007, -2/+24I fell asleep on the first page.
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19From the baby oil page...
Slip off a stuck ring. Massage oil onto your finger and rotate the ring until you can slide it off. (This trick works to get body parts out of a number of sticky situations.)
I'm not even touching that. - Snakedal337, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10really missed the demographic here didntcha?
- YEMandy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9You mean I can use an old sheet on my car seat to protect it from my dog??
I don't buy it... - chopenik, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13Wow. Some of those are so common sense that I'd be surprised if anyone learned anything new.
- hbeierg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5mommy's candy make my dizzy
- MattB123, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Meh.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Holy ***** jumping jesus in dan dare's spacesuit these are the LAMEST tips I've ever read.
- uzusan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I quite liked this one:
"Slip corkboard sheets under plates for a new take on place mats. Use letter stamps to personalize them with family members’ names or an appropriate message (“Eat your ***** dinner!”)." - Rockout, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4" Make a kid’s Halloween costume. A stainless-steel colander is a perfect Martian helmet. Attach ribbons to the handles and tie them under the chin."
Hey, I'm crazy pickle arm. Now give me some candy. - TTSkipper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3My favorite. Use a corkboard as a corkboard
"Store hair accessories. Mount the corkboard on a wall and hang thin hair bands, elastics, and clips with thumbtacks or hooks." - JohnnyXmas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Buried as inaccurate:
The author did not mention how to make a bong out of ANY of these things. - spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3With the added benefit of piercing your ear-drum and getting rid of that pesky hearing
- silverchrysalis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i bet they had a thrifty solution for narcolepsy, too! just had to keep clicking thru
- tateness, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"Extraordinary" use for a pillowcase #4: Fashion a child’s smock. Cut a large neck hole in the top of a pillowcase and two smaller armholes in the sides.
A more appropriate category for this tip would be: How to ensure your child's beatings at school AND destroy perfectly good linens. - Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I bet Martha Stewart really loves this article and Dugg it.
I however, think this is incredibly lame and in fact the lameness factor of it has permanentlly reduced my ability to walk. Buried as LAAAAAME! - 10001110101, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5There isn't a 'U' in Mac's name.
- jasonu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I registered just so that i could bury it.
- Emmo213, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Not really. Alton hates unitaskers. Using a colander as a luminary isn't really multitasking. It's stupid.
- AnotherThought, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3This is a required reading assignment for course: Blonde 101
- Nutmegan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Who knew such ordinary suggestions could be used as a Digg magnet?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3This is gay.
- willx99, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1wow not only could MacGuyver make a list twice this long but his would all involve explosions, lockpicking, or just general sweetness.
count me disappointed. - bubbadoo989, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Boy, what a non-issue.... no DIGG.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not really any need to, I don't think you could make it sound dirtier if you tried
- FlapJaw, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Baby Oil
-lubricant for stuff - thekronz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2They should call this "101 Ordinary Uses for Ordinary Things". Nothing on here was that Extraordinary. Well I guess I can't really say that I saw one item and got bored.
- shabazdavisjr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Send a letter using a name tag as an address label."
Or, you know...write the address directly on the envelope. - vokiel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2This is spam, move along
- svartgotik, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3My brain asploded when I read about using a bleach bottle as some sort of megaphone. That's probably the stupidest ***** "use" ever.
- dietprozac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Some of these are really bad ideas, actually:
"Before hanging a picture on a plaster wall, put a small piece of tape where the nail will go. This will prevent the plaster from chipping when you hammer in the nail."
And if you ever decide to remove the picture, your tape will also remove a lot of plaster, or leave a gummy sticky residue on your wall. - GhostWithToast, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Now be honest... you used dental floss to get this to the front page, didn't you???
- bouncingpepper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wonder how much this guy had to pay to get this on the front page. Lamest thing ive read in a while.
- deusdiabolus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Heloise's Helpful Hints FTW! http://www.heloise.com/
- DKDiveDude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not to bad tips, HOWEVER I FREAKING HATE WEBSITES THAT FORCES FOCUS WHEN THE PAGE HAS LOADED!
- jennybeth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not an extremely useful list, but there were a few good tips on there. Maybe not worthy the title of 'extraordinary'.
Some of the dental floss tips were good: we used to use dental floss to sew up our backpacks if they started to get holes in them. - PaperMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Silly boy.... clearly the submitter just missed the space-bar while they were typing out the article title.. It was actually supposed to be "101 Ordinary Uses for Extra Ordinary Things"
- CannibalTom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Q-tips are the tool of choice for cleaning your bong.
- Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1*****
- Cahaba, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0"Keep your phone charged. Use a swab dipped in alcohol to clean the battery contacts of a cordless phone, cell phone, or laptop. This will help maintain good battery connections and sustain the charge for a longer time."
Good tip, if you're careful. - Kumaku, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2bobby pins to take out ear wax!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2dugg because it's not a 1,2,3 list. horey.
- lispy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0How about these:
Sheet of paper and CFL: Print a nice pattern (http://www.squidfingers.com/patterns/) from the interweb on a piece of paper. Wrap paper around to make a lamp when you're too lazy to or too poor to buy one.
Bottle of wine: Drink up, remove label and use as vase.
Vinegar: Use it too clean stuff.
Ascorbineacid (Vitamine C): Use it to clean your waterboiler (german here, you know what I mean).
Dishwasher: Put fish in aluminium foil. Turn dishwater on without any soap. 30mins will do. Got a perfectly cooked fish. No 2: Put your keyboard inside it to clean it like new.
Photo wall: Use a piece of string with clothes pins and attach photos for decoration. Mount in kitchen for shopping lists and in office to keep your stuff at hand.
Ole Socks: Put on eggs to keep em warm for breakfast. (Girls LOVE this one).
Mentos and Coke: you know the drill
Come on, I just made these one up from the top of my head, and someone really couldn't think of anything better like the ones above? - angiesquared, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Pity the child whose mother takes that tip to heart.
- MrHighTech, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1my brain asplodes too when I read words like 'asplosion'
- givinupthefight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Potato: Cut in half, use to remove a broken light bulb from a lamp socket. As for the other half, I dunno, make it into a bong to appease JohnnyXmas.
