eLoader 0.98 "Porter" - 2.0+ Homebrew for PSP without GTA
qj.net — Thanks to the recent new exploit found in later firmware versions for the PSP, homebrew enthusiasts can now launch basic PSP homebrew without the use of the Grand Theft Auto UMD! This new version of Fanjita and Ditlew's eLoader works with firmware 2.0 - 2.60!

Cracking firmwares isn't a definite science. It's always done by poking around the system and hoping for bugs; something which is still quite difficult with the current state of homebrew on 2.80. - themacx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the tiff exploit works on my (2nd) 2.8 PSP so there is hope... but crap I'm happy i bought an extra and kept one original ;p

What games don't work on 2.71 (Which devhook can emulate), seriously? There's like...that soccer demo on the Sony website and that's all. You're an idiot for upgrading one of your PSPs to it.

I had 2.6 when I got my TA-082 PSP, then I updated to 2.71 for a demo, and then to 2.8 'cause I thought I'd never have homebrew support. Here's hoping that they release a downgrader or the eLoader for 2.8, and that it doesn't brick my TA-082 if I downgrade to 2.6, or use the eLoader. >.>
