Reporting. BAD DIGG. - x3n1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Fantastique! "back in the day" for me was an Amiga 500 at a friends place eating nacho's and loving this game.
I totally digg this game! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Because maybe it's in French and it has a side by side comparison of the old and the remake.

http://www.anotherworld.fr/anotherworld_uk/index.htm - nickj6282, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Definitely Digg+. This was a fantastic game back in the day, and I still play it now and again. Just more proof that the SNES may have been the greatest console ever. (And yes, I realize this game was available for more systems than just the SNES).
- brs165, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11It was renamed "Out of this World" for the US market. So it would not be confused with the sopa opera "Another World".
- TheBigFatKill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Flashback was AWSOME! one of my all time favorite's, for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashback:_The_Quest_for_Identity
- GodsHand, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Original name is Another World. It was changed for US release on consoles.
- TWiThead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Of course, the new title always reminded me of "Out of this World," the 1987-1991 syndicated sci-fi sitcom about "Evie," a half-alien girl with the ability to freeze time by touching her index fingers together (among other powers). Her never-seen "Anterian" father was voiced by Burt Reynolds. This is a camp classic in the same vein as "Small Wonder" and "My Secret Identity."
Back on-topic, I recall playing this game on my Commodore Amiga (which was the original format). Ah, memories. - MrShoop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I had this game for the amiga - really brilliant. The artistic style and storytelling of the game really set it apart from most other games of the time. I guess I can make amends for pirating the game at that time by buying it now. :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You know if you ducked his kicks had longer range, perfect for those little single tooth worms, or if you wanted to be really ballsey just jump over them. Maxuba
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes. Amiga 500 and "Another world" (as it was called, over on this side of the pond). The first game that I saw that blurred the difference between the intro and the game (the intro and the game were done in the same fashion, same graphics and animation quality). I remember to this day, the big underwater explosion, at the very beginning of the game, and not realizing that the intro is over and that the game has already started.
- scheper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's an action/adventure. Similar to the old Prince of Persia or FlashBack in fluidity, graphics and gameplay.
- 413x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There's also a free GBA version of the game (from the original programmer Eric Chahi):

http://www.idlethumbs.net/display.php?id=44 - MonolithTMA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well. we US users never knew it was called Another World, we only ever knew it as Out of this World, so you will have to forgive us.
- puzzud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well check this out guys. I had known about a project that remade Out of This World and is (was) open source. However, the creator of the original game essentially gave him a cease and desist, as far as PC builds go. However, he was allowed to still host Dreamcast and GP32 versions.

If you are clever enough, you could manage to get ahold of the source and build it for 'Whatever' system... including Mac. - Malchiah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Not bad, but all I got was the demo.
You'll get about 10 seconds into the game (or 5 minutes if you don't know what to do right away) before you can't go any more without paying. - illu45, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Er.. correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't/wasn't the game called "Another World", not "Out of this World"?
- DMCau, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6A mirror of the file:
http://www.filecloud.com/files/file.php?file_id=3162 - msprout, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6It's essentially frustration concentrated down into a video game.
But it's still a great adventure game. I played that game when I was little until my thumbs curled. - LawLSUVA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Is the demo the only thing available for free? I think that the digg description should not have said "available for download."
- majorbabu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4never played this one. whats it about?
- Jonny5alive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5But you can't kick a snake if your kicking 2ft off the ground.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5A mirror of the site:
http://www.epicconstructions.com/mirror/outofworld/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome! I used to love this game. Even though I couldn't figure out what the hell I was supposed to do..
- inactive, on 11/04/2008, -0/+3Woah, I was just thinking of my all time favourite Amiga games, and Flashback and Another World came into my head (as well as Sensible Soccer). Sidenote: There's a new version coming out in June for PS2/XBox/PC :D
For those kids who don't know what real games are about (no, CS is not how games started), they should really take a look at some of these titles.
I would appreciate it if the title could be altered to also read "Another World", since I was living in the UK at the time, and never knew it by any other name. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A really incredible game! I remember the emotional-impact when first played it... Awesome!
- inuchance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Flashback is NOT a sequel to this game.
From Wikipedia:
A sequel, named Fade to Black was produced in 1995. This game has completely different gameplay and generated mixed reviews from critics that felt that it was too different from the original game. Flashback is often mistaken for a sequel to Another World. - ProAm500, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Flashback was a GREAT!!! game....
- ProAm500, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3kind of off topic, but any remember the Sega Channel?...I remember downloading this and playing this when I had the Sega Channel back in the days when I was in like 6th or 7th grade......now that was a service that was ahead of its time....
- jippers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4torrent!
http://www.xboxyde.com/leech_2455_en.html - spaceboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is awesome! I was in love with this game back when it came out. I miss the adventure games like this and the Lucas Arts greats
- rvalles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So funny, how Mac (and PC) moved graphics relying only on CPU bruteforce...
The game was smooth in an unexpanded Amiga 500 with had just a 68000 at 7.14MHz and 512k of RAM. - playedalive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is an AMAZING game, remeber it on the old amiga 500 ah those were the days. Anyone know where i could get images of the background images used for the menu, their amazing.
- AttroPheed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2more cowbell.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One word: Blasphemy!
- Koskun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This has been announced a bit ago, and just became available for download like 2 days ago.
The original creator re-did the graphics so they are a little higher res. Now I am not talking Half-Life 2, or for that matter Half-Life here, but compared to what it looked like on the NES, or even emulated, it is a lot nicer.
Cost will set you back 7 pounds, or about 10 US dollars (still hasn't cleared through my bank), but I got my email with the key within 2 minutes. His server/inbox may be getting hit a little hard by now. - goatrandy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, it's worth paying for...but still hard as hell. Good luck. This is one of the hardest games ever devised by man.
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think I vaguely remember that game, it freaked me out with the little shadow things.
- billyballer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, this brings back memories. I enjoyed this game and it was ground breaking in many ways, and was very fun to play! It's a bargain at 7 Euros to buy the remastered full version. Great Digg and great game!
- Phoenixfury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I played the demo and loved it! I did pay for it but have a huge problem. I didn't recieve any confirmation by e-mail yet which worries me. The only confirmation page that did come up I lost imediately due to Firefox crashing when I tried to save it. In hind site, I wish I had just copid the text and pasted it to a notepad file. Has anyone else sucessfully purchased this game and got their registration code?
- redrighthand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2quick! somebody recompile for OSX I havent played this in 10 years and want in on the retro fun
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, I played it and really liked this game. Sucks it's a demo though, I can't buy a code yet...
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I played this on PC, it wasn't just consoles :) great find! dling as we speak. digg+++!!!!
- danjal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is very missleading, sure it's great its out, but when i read it i thought it was a free download of the full game.
- MrManFitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This game belongs at the top of some "All time games" list. Playing this game was like reading a fantasy adventure book. Two memorable moments in the game were: (1) kicking a guard in the nuts and diving for the gun just in time to blast 'em! and (2) taking the elevator to the top and looking out the window to the city below. Just like someone said, this game was all about mood. Plus, it made you feel clever as hell everytime you figured out a level. I still have this game on a 1.44MB floppy: "another1.exe". digg+
- deepsub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hot damn! I had this program on my Mac II back in the day. I had to buy an accelerator ( a -40- Mhz Daystar 68030!) to play it smoothly.
So dugg! - lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When I played this game I seem to remember having to start over and over again every time I died. Maybe I just couldn't figure out how to save. It was the same thing time and time again... run left, get chased, run right, die somewhere along the way, restart. Maybe I am just bad at video games.
- pozzoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's the best part of an action game I've ever seen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Awesome game, one of the highlights of the SNES/Genesis era, dugg+
