- r4dius, on 02/19/2009, -5/+122He's probably the only game reviewer who I know will give me his actual opinion, which alone is worth respect. Thankfully, he's ***** hilarious as well.
- Stormwern, on 02/19/2009, -6/+55Game reviewing is dead, long live game ostricizing!
- haharr, on 02/19/2009, -6/+41Anyone else surprised by the fact that he actually WEARS that hat in real life?! I thought it was just a fictitious Zero Punctuation thing, not a true-to-life caricature of himself.
ZP = Great viewing for the laughs since he takes the piss out of every game... even good ones. If you wanted "serious" reviews, check other sites (i.e. Game Revolution still my fav). - Deeh, on 02/20/2009, -0/+34"And on Digg.com, where Zero Punctuation is as much a staple as Huffington Post, Cracked, and Parody Motivational Posters"
Wow, that's embarassing.... - SolInvictus, on 02/19/2009, -4/+27I have to say that my favorite episode has to be his Far Cry 2 episode, where he put on the most atrocious South African accent ever.
- Slashered, on 02/20/2009, -0/+13The race to post his show on Wednesday is probably the most anticipated thing on Digg and beats out the refreshing of Cracked every minute in the morning (yes, this happens).
- bdickason, on 02/20/2009, -3/+15He needs to stick to Zero Punctuation. His other shows are c-r-a-p.
- wontstoptalking, on 02/20/2009, -1/+12"Almost by the book, he got his lucky break being discovered by The Escapist . . . after MS Painting just two installments of Zero Punctuation and uploading them to YouTube."
MS Paint? This guy is SO hardcore! - bonk2k, on 02/20/2009, -1/+11If you're an adventure game fan and you haven't played Yahtzee's games, you should really check them out. 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, and 6 Days a Sacrifice are 4 ***** great games.
http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games.htm - Phroday, on 02/20/2009, -1/+10I actually like the way he reviews games. No score, but it presses a general feel about games. He tells you whats right, whats wrong and whether there is fun to be had. He even said in one of his videos that he is "feverously picking nits" because it's his job to. But remember, it may be reviewing game, but it is comedy first. Go Croshaw!
- Ismith988, on 02/20/2009, -0/+9WHAT
- EmperorChow, on 02/20/2009, -2/+10i was hoping this was a video
- niccisnail, on 02/20/2009, -0/+8But does he wear it while gaming? Or just when he's out and about and feelin' fancy?
- ecacafce, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6I almost forgot about Maddox.
I wish he still updated as much :( - SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -2/+8It's about Yahtzee. What do you think, smartass?
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -4/+10If he sucks at a game he bashes it to the ground. I'll admit that his reviews are funny, but they are not very justified sometimes.
Then again, "professional" reviewers are complete idiots anyway - zinc6471, on 02/20/2009, -1/+7I LIKE HOW YOU USE CAPS TO CONVEY SCREAMING
- qaz0101, on 02/20/2009, -1/+6Good article chronicling the odd Yahtzee, I have gotten many a game off his recomendation (or lack thereof).
- SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -0/+5There's nothing unattractive about Yahtzee. Well... I mean, in terms of his looks. That goatee and that hat are simply endearing, are they not?
- oMeSSiaHo, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Oh god I seriously thought it was Wednesday...
- blix797, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4... and bacon"
- ElGanyan, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Those weren't suspenders.
- RetlawST, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4One word: Pufferfish
- BillCStickers, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4his sardonic personality is always funny. too bad he doesn't really have a face for tv. his teeth kept reminding me of a donkey and his eyes were perpetually glassy
Ironically he was the most photogenic of the hosts - inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4I fail to see the point of an "intro to Barack Obama" article. Watch a few ***** speeches. Done.
The article is pointless.
I fail to see the point of an "intro to golfing" article. Swing a few ***** clubs. Done.
The article is pointless.
I fail to see the point of an "intro to Quantum Mechanics" article. Read a few ***** books. Done.
The article is pointless.
See what a douche you sound like? - SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5I don't know. I thought it was okay. It's awkward with all 3 of them sitting on the chair though. They should be facing each other on a table, like they do on Top Gear.
- niccisnail, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Sure would, but that guy has stuff on his plate.
- vinceislegend, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Yahtzee is to people today what Maddox was to people ten years ago.
Also video games. - niccisnail, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4If I was in the habit of wearing a hat, I'd take it off to you sir.
- landosystem, on 02/20/2009, -4/+7"his breath of knowledge" Do they mean breadth? or was it a pun?
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -2/+5This article would be a lot more interesting if the author actually got an interview with Ben.
- SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Agreed. That other show he made? It never got off the ground. Died after a single episode, it looks like.
Of course, it wasn't too bad. Better than half the stuff out there, but it was no 1up. - FasterGun, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3I just beat The Art of Theft and it made me remember why I love videogames.
- l800LEMMINGS, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3I am a consumer, part of the system of capitalism. To the corporations that control our lives, I am nothing but a huge mouth wearing designer jeans, just one of billions, to be cajoled or threatened with advertising into giving my money to people who already have too much. Although I vocally consider this a despicable state of affairs, I buy their loveless food and wear their manufactured garments. I am simultaneously antagonist and component
-Ben Croshaw
Dugg - niccisnail, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Yup. It's a blog post discussing the nature of internet celebrity. If you're looking for Gene Weingarten, you'll want The Washington Post, not Gameriot ;)
- mikeymondavi, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3OK!
- Katana314, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2ONLY 4 DIGGS?
THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL??? - burketo, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Anyone play Yahtzee's John deFoe quadrilogy? I thought it was brilliant until about halfway through the last installment. After that it all got a bit too existential for my tastes. I'm not really sure what the ending meant!
- SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Indeed. You might have to read the New York Times if you're looking for some prize winning journalism. This is an article on gaming and a gaming-culture related celebrity.
I'm not sure what you're expecting, cjwright. - inactive, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1He's usually more honest than the "mainstream gaming press" who are notorious for letting their opinions be influenced by exclusives and other rewards.
- G001, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2I think he got the hat afterward to match his character. I remember the first time he appeared on camera for ZP everyone at Digg was wondering where his hat was. So he got one.
- sageerrant, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Hilarious!
...and I'm not even being sarcastic. I just love those little demon things. - SolInvictus, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2Pretty sure he wears it all the time. He wore it for the entire time during that show of his.
- joey368, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1He's full of *****. Scientific fact.
- superterrorizer, on 02/20/2009, -3/+4Zero Punctuation has become a weekly habit of mine, it's definitely the only review thing on the web that actually makes me laugh out loud.
- coldkill3r, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Uhh, no. Check out the gamedamage's forums.
- xXSheepyXx, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1I look at his review's because he points out all the little things that are annoying in a game. All games have them, even the good ones. There's always something that frustrates you or could be better. When he points them out, some I can agree with and know I would also find them frustrating or infuriating and bypass all the hype to make a proper decision.
Failing that, its still funny. I always prefer reading 1 star reviews than 5 star. I love reading about things getting slated. - inactive, on 02/21/2009, -1/+2FAGBALLS.
- volacide, on 02/23/2009, -0/+1GiantBomb for the win. If they enjoy the game it gets a good score, how things should be. Not a breakdown of storyline, visuals, and all that stuff. I've never understood those reviews you read where the guy/girl does nothing but praise the game and talk about how much fun they had and give it a very different score than you might think if you only read the text. That's ***** crazy.
