(Incase you don't trust me, you paranoid person, look at the ZP page's HTML, for var vars = {file:'selfserve300.dow[.....] - copy the bits between the two ', append _high.flv and there's the FLV download link.)
I wrote a script to scrape the site and grab all the .flv links so I could convert them to .mp4 for an iPod - I'm slightly hesitant to release it. In fact, screw it:
http://static.dbrweb.co.uk/code/zp/zpscrape.py (save the script, then run it in python, in a Terminal: python ~/Downloads/zpscrape.py or double-click it or something)
It needs the BeautifulSoup module, either grab it from http://www.crummy.com/software/BeautifulSoup/downl ... or http://static.dbrweb.co.uk/code/zp/BeautifulSoup.p ...
It'll output all the .flv links as a series of wget commands, if you want to download them in a different manner, edit the output in a text editor (or edit the script)

- TheHayze, on 04/02/2008, -24/+83You know, it's kinda funny (no, I don't mean Yahtzee, because he's more then just kinda funny), I, a normal gamer, could have easily told everyone that Army of Two looked like it was gonna be a crap game even without buying or playing it. From the previews alone, I had came to a conclusion that the game was going to be either for A. 14 year old boys who play too much CSS, or B. Frat boys with too much money to know what to do with. But for the rest of us, it didn't seem like it was going to add ANYTHING to the FPS genre. Though certainly not like most FPS add anything these days it seems. At least not until we get more a glimpse of Far Cry 2, and i'm rather hoping it won't mirror Far Cry 1, and Crysis. But that's another opinion for another story whence it comes about. My 2 cents on the whole issue. Take it as you will.
- LithiumPower, on 04/02/2008, -27/+8Paragraphs *****, DO YOU KNOW THEM!?

- JudgeMonkey, on 04/02/2008, -0/+4Exactly, if he wanted to say something about your comment, it could be that Army of Two isn't an FPS.
- KidVicious, on 04/03/2008, -1/+2They used to say 3-5 when I was in school, though more important than the length is for each to be about a separate topic or point.
- fyrehart, on 04/02/2008, -1/+20You say that after watching Zero Punctuation who seems to not... use... punctuation...?

- elnerdo, on 04/02/2008, -0/+6I think that was technically the joke. Smid was making fun of Hayze for calling it an FPS. He should've just stuck with "Shooter", though.

- bobartig, on 04/02/2008, -2/+1Tomb Raider. although I much preferred Oni.
- postalblowfish7, on 04/02/2008, -0/+10Shooters in general can't really be explored much more then they already have. Games like Bioshock and Killer 7 may push the genre to a higher level, but anything revolving around mercenaries or army men are just going to be basic combat sims, no matter how much you dress it up as an innovative title. This, I feel, is the problem with Halo as well. Ok, more alien shooting... really? That's it?
- hexydes, on 04/02/2008, -4/+3Portal
- postalblowfish7, on 04/02/2008, -0/+3yes, Portal as well - I was just talking about games that have a lot of camo pants in them.
- Drakoola, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't really call Portal a shooter. You shoot portals, but that's about it. But I guess it does lay up for portals in Half Life or something.
- Grym11, on 04/02/2008, -0/+9You know, I seriously disagree. There's a lot of places that modern shooting games haven't even dared to go that I personally would love to play.
Why is it that only a few games expect players to have a clue about fire-team tactics? The only one I can think of off-hand is Rainbow Six which makes the entire process pure drudgery because you have to pre-plan EVERY tiny aspect of the mission. I'm sorry but that just isn't fun despite the fact that it COULD be if it were *more* realistic in that there is a place for improvisation. No, what I want to see are games where you have to do an improvised leap-frogging retreat with your other squadmates when things get bollocks'ed up instead of a huge GAME OVER/MISSION FAILED black screen. I want to be assigned tasks intelligently by a sergeant based upon where I am/what gear I am carrying rather than being completely scripted and/or arbitrary like most games.
Oh, and why is it that years after highly successful movies like Black Hawk Down or Starship Troopers that there are not ANY large-scale online multi-player co-op games? Gamers are itching for scenario missions which they can play with all their friends and yet NONE of the game companies are delivering. It's weird.
Oh and what about MMOFPSs? Have you ever played Planetside? It COULD have been the *****. But SOE, as typical, completely screwed it up and by not fixing bugs and milking the community dry with expansion pack after expansion pack. I'd keep my eye on games like Huxley because the minute one game company does get the MMOFPS formula right, I have a feeling it's going to become immensely popular.- postalblowfish7, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1What you are suggesting are just tweaks on the war-game sims already out there. World War II Online comes to mind when you mention MMOFPS, and Quake Wars when you mention 'large-scale online multi-player co-op games.' As much as they can switch around the mission objectives and overall gameplay flow, it's still just "aim at the enemy and try to get a headshot."
- hexydes, on 04/02/2008, -4/+3Portal
- RilleWest, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1I agree with what you're saying, if you are playing the game alone. I would never ever consider buying it if I knew I was going to play it alone. You would be playing with a boring bot with a poor AI, but that´s not the point of the game.
Certainly, it didn´t push the quality of FPS games any further, but it added one important thing; an FPS game completely designed for 2 players. It opened up the doors for a new level of coop multplayer campain mode.
With the aggro-system and the tactically designed weapons truly adds Something to the FPS genre.
At first I also though it would suck, but playing it with a good friend and the beer next to you, I though the game was very fun and well made. - Chritto, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1Are you saying that Far Cry added something to the FPS genre ? It just has good graphics, and uses that as a justification for making ever other aspect of the game *****.
- moush, on 04/02/2008, -2/+2You think Farcry 2 and Crysis are good, your opinion means *****.
- TheHayze, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2This reply is to the above two posters. I said no such thing. I merely suggested that it will mirror Far Cry, and Crysis as being nothing but FPSs with bloody fantastic graphics (for their day, i.e. Far Cry.) I personally feel as though Far Cry was a ***** game, with ***** voice acting, ***** plot (wtf, mutents? where have we seen this one before?) , and even ***** style, and weapon skins/models. I mean, comon, every time I brought up my M4, i thought I was playing CS 1.6. That's really off the tip of my head on how bad Far Cry was.
And Crysis? What a load of BS. It's more of a benchmark for graphics cards now, then it is as a viable game tbh. If your new graphics card can run Crysis on ultra omg wtf high, with omg wtf 16qAA, and 16qAF.. you have an epeen the length of a train, and worthy of the attention.

- h4mx0r, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1I didn't see Army of Two as something that would "add" to the genre but just another coop game that the game scene desperately needs. One with the gimmick of teamwork in a coop game sounds awesome however you put it. (Other coop games are just "blast your way through" and while Army of Two seems to be just that, at least they seem to have certain elements that really emphasize the "helping each other out" aspect)

- BlueSkyfish, on 04/02/2008, -1/+15Smash Bros
- kmckanna, on 04/02/2008, -12/+12Haha, great. This just completely re-inforced the reason why I won't buy that ridiculous looking game. It's nothing special.
I am hoping he does a SSBB or Final Fantasy: Crisis Core review sooner or later.- ferrariman60, on 04/02/2008, -1/+3I rented it, and it's fun if you have a competent person to play it with. Two gamers on the same skill level can have some fun with it, but playing with the AI is a decidedly boring exercise into frustration. It does have the broken mechanics that he mentions, that's for sure, but it has some solid ideas that could be improved upon. A lot, in some cases.
- bonecones, on 04/02/2008, -1/+8Sorry mate, but we don't even have a SSBB release date here in australia. It's very unlikely you'll see a SSBB zero punctuation anytime soon.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/data/928518.ht ... - TastyLamp, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Converting to PAL would be like flicking a switch in the factory where it's manufactured. Well maybe not that easy, but still. It's laziness.
- Falsey, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1I just can't wait until we get Rock Band 7 months after everyone else.
- Furkle, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1that's where the wonder of imports comes into play.
- B3000, on 04/02/2008, -1/+2Don't buy it, but do rent it. There are a lot of flaws, yes, but it is actually a lot of fun with a second player. Single player = crap. Local Co-op = pretty awesome, despite itself.
- kornwin, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1I bought Final Fantasy: Crisis Core the other day, let me tell you, it has sucked me out of the real world for the past week... The side missions are equally fun as the main story, not to mention the strange lottery type DMW combat thing will sometimes incorporate cut scenes when doing its thing... [basically it's like a slot machine, but with characters, when 3 characters match up, you get a special ability, like if I got Cloud I would be able to use meteor strike. But while it is still spinning it will sometimes flash a cut scene that wasn't shown in the normal part of the game. I didn't realize this until I got to chapter 10 of the main story, so I'm going to have to play it over again.] I definitely recommend Crisis Core, it's definitely one of the best PSP games around right now.
(don't listen to G4/ Xplay's review of the game, it's total BS and from the looks of it they only went through the beginning 2 hours of the game and just quit.) - penterz, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1He wont review FF:CC. Yahtzee hates JRPGs.

- philthetechie, on 04/02/2008, -34/+2I enjoy Yahtzee's ramblings as much as the next digger but, I hate when he reviews a game I've never even heard of. I think his reviews of popular upcoming titles would be a better focus for his work. Sadly, when we do get a review of a game the vast majority knows about, it is weeks late and no longer holds any relevance to someone looking for his insights while deciding to purchase the game. *coughcod4cough*
- emomakesmecry, on 04/02/2008, -3/+22You've never heard of Army of Two?... You definitely haven't visited gamespot recently and seen the utterly annoying ads the past few weeks.
- bweltondav, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2He lives in australia--a country that constantly gets the shaft on release dates. rock band, for instance, was just released over there.
- JudgeMonkey, on 04/02/2008, -0/+3Yeah, gotta love that ethnocentrism. Just because a game has been out for a while where you live, doesn't mean the same for where he lives. - surKaz, on 04/02/2008, -8/+5Army of Two didn't look that great from the start ... I knew:
A. It wasn't going to be pushing the envelope
B. It's main hook is the co-op thing...
But I still got it.. Yes, Maybe a waste of money, but I was interested on how interdependent the players would be..
Will it be as fun as Gears of War in co-op ? Well, most parts of it anyway..
I guess I'll find out..- B3000, on 04/02/2008, -0/+3You will have a lot of fun if you play with a friend. Don't bother playing solo however. There are some cheesy elements and broken implementation of certain ideas but it still provides a solid co-op shooting experience. and the aggro meter is actually pretty innovative. Just don't play it on easy mode.

- elegantjihad, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1My buddy brought the game over (i wasn't going to buy this *****), and I have to say this: THE END BOSS IS A CUT SCENE. Seriously, were they too lazy to make a boss battle out of the .... boss? As mindless and dim-witted as the game was, I didn't expect that twist.
- rileylolz, on 04/02/2008, -13/+6Best one in a while.
- nirav72, on 04/02/2008, -6/+1Best game in a while? You do have low expectations don't ya?

thats ironic- laserblazer, on 04/02/2008, -0/+6Your expectations preclude irony.
- Swarms, on 04/02/2008, -4/+14I only played with a human co-op partner, not an NPC, but everything he said is right. The whole "two" thing was more of a gimmick than a feature. To open the door you have to press the button...no, no, wait.....two buttons. Why? Because there's another person playing.
Everytime there's a need for "boosties", lifting your partner up to a ledge, there's bad guys at the top waiting to shoot you. He's now playing alone, since you can't get up to help until he can turn around and give you a hand. If he does that before killing them, he gets shot in the back while lifting you up.
I liked that there was a way to upgrade weapons in the store, but they didn't seem to do much. I didn't notice a real increase even with a $75k gun, and why would I waste another $10k to "pimp" it? I don't remember ever seeing the gun much really anyway, so what's the point?
That being said, I still played through to the end. It's not a bad game, it just offers absolutely nothing new to the FPS genre.- DetpackJump, on 04/02/2008, -1/+7pimping guns increases their aggro generation rate.
- AmnioticEntity, on 04/02/2008, -6/+1the fact that you know that..well, you get dugg down for that.
/troll.
- AmnioticEntity, on 04/02/2008, -6/+1the fact that you know that..well, you get dugg down for that.
- bobartig, on 04/02/2008, -1/+2The gun upgrading was a bit over-balanced. I seemed to get nearly the same results with the $4000 spray and pray SMG as I did with the fully upgraded M5k.
The one exception to this was aggro. If player A has a big aggro stick, and player B has a suppressed SMG, then player A is like a glowing neon sign, and player B is always invisible. "Pimping" your gun increases your aggro even further, and it just costs a ridiculous amount. The game slider doesn't seem to move much, but it makes a very noticeable difference in-game.- Swarms, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1You're right. I remember now. It's just that the whole "aggro" feature of the game seemed a little wasted. Like Yahtzee said, you really only need it for those 5 people all game that have to be shot from behind. I'm not spending $10k on that.
- jggr, on 04/03/2008, -1/+1You're saving your money for what, then exactly?
/Psst... It's not real money.- Swarms, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1psst, there's $250k guns if I recall. And special guns. And secondary guns.and upgrades for all those guns to make them shoot better. I'm not wasting the money to make one sparkly.

- johimself, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2The two buttons were there so that the two of you advanced at the same pace. I can't remember there being a spawning system like in Halo where your partner spawns next to you at a checkpoint if you get too far ahead. Quite why they couldn't have put such a system in is beyond me. Maybe they did but my (real life) teammate and I were never separated for long enough (insert Yahtzee gay joke).
When you and your partner are doing boosties I think you can shoot the bad guys while your partner is boosting you (sigh) and use that like a cover system.
I quite enjoyed it. It wasn't long, it wasn't hard but it was a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon with a friend.- superbobd, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2.
- sl123000, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Good Point.
- superbobd, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2.
- AmnioticEntity, on 04/02/2008, -2/+2third person shooter not FPS....hell you might as well call it an RTS or RPG due to the fact that you can add bling blong to your weapons...anyway the game is complete shyte and the reviewer was spot on. i did manage to waste half an hour of my life playing this game with a friend, it took everything i had not to hurt his feelings and tell him how i really felt about the game.
- JudgeMonkey, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1You aren't supposed to boost your team mate all the way up right away, that's why you have lift control. You're supposed to life him up enough to fire, and lower him down if he is taking too much damage. He's only playing alone after a boost if you fail at cooperation.
- DetpackJump, on 04/02/2008, -1/+7pimping guns increases their aggro generation rate.
- reuscel, on 04/02/2008, -11/+4I really wanted this game to be good. I thought the concept of the gameplay sounded intriguing, but instead I was out $60 and bored after the first level. I should have known better than to buy a shooter from EA.
- NJank, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2and the problem? paying $60 for a game.
- kingmanic, on 04/02/2008, -1/+2Adjusted for inflation, $60 in 2008 ($32.41 in 1986 funds) is less then the average new Nintendo game in 1986.
- Neenahred, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1yes but most of the games they made work and where good
Please not the word MOST. This does not mean all.

- B3000, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1Before you go feeling really down about your purchase - try playing it with a friend. It gets A LOT more fun that way. Also, the levels do get better and better as they go. It never approaches Great, but co-op it can still be blast.
- Neenahred, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1I rly want people to not like stupid comments that no one cares about but that is not going to happen so lets all just get over how we wish something was or was not

- cthellis, on 04/02/2008, -1/+12Indeed you are.
- Tyrghast, on 04/02/2008, -7/+2I'm sure we can all agree that if EA probably hadn't released the game when it did and let the dev's have a few more months with it, the game would be much smoother. But goddamn EA....
- onionoino, on 04/02/2008, -7/+2oh most excellent, and just before i leave for work! excellent timing

- proghead, on 04/02/2008, -8/+2If someone were to send him a copy of SSBB would it work on his wii?
and what's stopping him from ordering an american wii and an american copy of the game? (He can write it off as business expense)
or we could pool some money and get that stuff for him...- MrQuoz, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Could be wrong, but I think Australia is in a different region then the US. Probably one of the reasons it takes longer?
- penterz, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1It is. Australia is PAL whereas the US is NTSC.
- proghead, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Well what's stopping him from having it shipped FROM the states or elsewhere TO his place of residence?

- gincarnated, on 04/02/2008, -7/+2"just six more weeks"
Classic! - daizaru, on 04/02/2008, -7/+2Kinda funny, I think the point of the game is you're supposed to play it with someone else and the single player was more of an afterthought. I think most people don't look at the EA on a game and go... "this will be amazing" anymore anyways.
- Maverick0420, on 04/02/2008, -6/+2the co op feature is the only reason to get this game but yet again the main game is really short all in all I ll blame EA for this one cuz im sure it would have been a lot better without their overwatch
- nutniqs, on 04/02/2008, -15/+1FPS are ***** old hat.
- Neenahred, on 04/02/2008, -1/+4You! Shut the ***** up no one wants to here what you think

- iRAZ3R, on 04/02/2008, -7/+1This was honesty one of the funniest videos I have seen, I would have to agree on pretty much everything that they said . One thing I think he should have mentioned was the annoying multilayer with CPU enemy's as well as other people. If they would have made the game with a Gears Of War style on-line play I believe it would have been more successful. Greeeat Find!
