- yotomote, on 02/21/2008, -14/+237Censorship sucks horse ***** *****
- HiKevinRose, on 02/21/2008, -13/+208Decent but the censoring cut down on the fun. That and the fact that for the first time I couldn't keep up with his rapid speaking.
- BlackStorm, on 02/21/2008, -3/+136Yea, the censoring wasn't cool. Distracted me more then anything. =/
- cheech794, on 02/21/2008, -8/+138Down with the censoring, it took away the fun.
- ElSpaniard, on 02/21/2008, -17/+127So how many of us stayed up till midnight for this?
- Zuggy, on 02/21/2008, -1/+109What's funny about the censoring is that a lot of the time you could still hear the word.
- MonkeyBoyz30, on 02/21/2008, -4/+100"like how the invention of realistic virtual sex would wipe out the human race within one generation"
I never thought of that and it scares me cuz I think that it is what would happen. - jimmick, on 02/21/2008, -8/+87Those censors are all a bunch of tw*ts
I seriously had no idea that was a swear - SpectreFire, on 02/21/2008, -3/+67They censored *****?
The *****? - bweltondav, on 02/21/2008, -2/+66I want to be able to find an actual video from the GDC so that I can see the audience reaction--if they thought this was anywhere near as funny as i did they were rolling on the floor
- Nextrix, on 02/21/2008, -0/+44Found it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA_5lJOrVVY
- tofagerl, on 02/21/2008, -0/+43Try calling your mother a ***** and see what happens ;p
- BlackStorm, on 02/21/2008, -0/+39Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA_5lJOrVVY
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r60vb3ejl2A
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODHg1qJ-YKE - ErBiC, on 02/21/2008, -0/+39It had to be censored because it was played in front of an audience at GDC 08.
The Escapist didn't bother to (or couldn't) remove the bleeps when they posted it... I don't think it's permanent. - Whamola, on 02/21/2008, -5/+41Seriously?! They censored the word "Bollocks?"
- Schmidtopolis, on 02/21/2008, -1/+28I stayed up till midnight so I could finish 12 beers... Yahtzee was the icing on the... bottle.
- Gizza, on 02/21/2008, -0/+27What I found weird about the censoring is that words like *****, bollocks, jerking were censored, but others like ass weren't. But yeah, the censoring really ruined the whole thing.
- Schmidtopolis, on 02/21/2008, -2/+25Here is how you know a show is popular:
"I remember this show when it was funny"
"This show is really starting to fall off"
"If only you all knew how this show used to be back when it first started"
Sooooo, do you feel better about yourself now that you have ripped on something that is popular... jerkass? - cheeseron, on 02/21/2008, -1/+22they said that about the computer!
- fakekevinrose, on 02/21/2008, -0/+21the censoring definitely disrupted the natural rhythm that Yahtzee is known for. every time i came across a bleep it felt like stumbling over a rock, so rather than enjoying the clip, i had to anticipate when the next swear word was coming so it wouldn't be as jarring.
they censored *****
why? - inactive, on 02/21/2008, -1/+20So where is the uncensored version?
- meez, on 02/21/2008, -1/+20I don't know what part of Britain or Australia you live in, but if you were to start shouting ***** at your mother, you should not expect to be still in the house much longer, much less still breathing.
- Gizza, on 02/21/2008, -1/+16Yeah, and the majority of the world's population don't yet own computers, so whats your point?
- Schmidtopolis, on 02/21/2008, -2/+17Its as much of a swear as c*nt.
- thetechkid, on 02/21/2008, -1/+16I would like to hear the word, rather than hear the word with a loud beep that distracts from the topic.
- ozroy, on 02/21/2008, -0/+14What? It's 4 in the afternoon. This is the first time I have actually been able to watch this at a decent hour!
And it was worth skipping my afternoon nap for it! - inactive, on 02/21/2008, -1/+13*****
See, isn't that better? - strictnein, on 02/21/2008, -0/+12Yeah, what the *****?
- makkaveli19, on 02/21/2008, -2/+13thats it. i'm gonna ***** start a petition to stop the cencoring. he can't even say bollocks!
- daewoo5385, on 02/21/2008, -8/+19It is entertaining.
- ddawggin, on 02/21/2008, -5/+16Why pay for a sex machine when I can get it for free from your mom?
- giid, on 02/21/2008, -0/+11I dug him up, but just because I wanted to pretend I got the joke after you mentioned it was supposed to be a joke.
- spudnic, on 02/21/2008, -0/+11Try listening faster.
- DarkShroud, on 02/21/2008, -0/+9How many of us would have been up anyway. (raises hand)
- dclowd9901, on 02/21/2008, -1/+10Sometimtes I think censoring can be even funnier than the real deal. I'll point to Arrested Development as my case study:
Buster: It's like she gets off by being withholding.
Gob: Look who's got something to say.
Buster: I'm Mom and I want to shoot down everything you say so I can feel good about myself. 'Cause I'm an uptight -- [Incredibly extended BLEEP] -- Buster! -- [Extended BLEEP] -- You old horny slut!
Michael: [pause] Well, no one's gonna top that. - RawrAtYoo, on 02/21/2008, -5/+13The censoring sorta ruined it for me.. But still awesome as usual!
- Memitim, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8Demolition Man.
- inactive, on 02/21/2008, -1/+8[Almost] Buried because of bleeps :(
- ed3r, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7You fail to realise that the vast majority of the world wouldn't be able to afford it.
- Shaflugi, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7We've had virtual sex for years. It's called porn.
- Laxaloot, on 02/21/2008, -1/+7is that even a curse word?
- Hitpoint, on 02/21/2008, -2/+8Yeah i do wish we could get a transcript of these every week. Saves me the trouble of having to replay the whole video to perfect my Yahtzee quotes.
- Vindexus, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6Censoring made Arrested Development funnier. I'm not sure if it translates to Zero Punctuation.
- tdous, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6I doubt it. All he has to do is keep writing witty, inciteful commentary. As long as he's still able to do that he won't lose anything. Throw in some expletives to keep the gigglers happy and you're golden. A more realistic danger, to me, is that the fickle internet horde loses interest regardless of the quality of his work and begins to call it tired and stale, though it's really never changed or got worse.
- Lyianis, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6There is a very good chance that he had to spefic time window for each clip, so for his usual brutishly eloquent style to work he had to speed it up a bit. Besides, its not like Yahtzee to hold words back.
- AussieFox, on 02/21/2008, -0/+6I see what you did there...
- makkaveli19, on 02/21/2008, -2/+7***** you for censoring this *****
- Hitpoint, on 02/21/2008, -2/+7Yay for piggy back rides!
- tdous, on 02/21/2008, -2/+7"Where are my naughty words? It's not the content I find funny. It the rude words. *childish whine*"
This has been a comment parody. Subtlety rating: minimal. Thank you for reading and have a nice day. - inactive, on 02/21/2008, -1/+6Everyone agrees with the censoring I'm sure, but what WAS more disappointing was, like HiKevinRose said, his OVERLY rapid speaking. It was like there was negative punctuation in that sense, and I really couldn't keep up with it the first time I watched it
