- nmc9, on 06/04/2008, -6/+279That description is sad... "My turn maybe for diggs." There, there. *pats*
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -24/+276I want to comment about something in the video, but know that by the time I watch the video this will have 2000 diggs. What do I do?
Edit: Dugg for playing a guitar solo on the corpse of God. - 1337Einstein, on 06/04/2008, -9/+201I loved Oblivion,but Yahtzee as always, trumps any and all of my loves and hates through wit, charm, and his maniacally fast British accent. Etc, etc, sycophancy abound and such. All said and done, I digg this.
- manergy, on 06/04/2008, -13/+203Nothing gets the day going like Yahtzee and severed alien willies bouncing off my space helmet.
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -24/+176***** YOU. IT'S YAHTZEE DAY
- Zyphron, on 06/04/2008, -8/+138"I chose to believe I was in there for shagging the emperor's wife and daughter at the same time while playing a rock guitar solo on the desecrated corpse of God." ~Priceless
Great commentary on cut and paste forests, and horrible execution of the NPC system, but I wonder what he thought about the various different towns. Although Oblivion was almost exactly the same throughout a large amount of the area between towns, each individual town/city had a lot of personality to it. Admittedly though, all that was killed by the fact that there were very few truly interesting NPCs. - Ploosheeta, on 06/04/2008, -10/+136I guess I don't like Oblivion after all...
- jakash, on 06/04/2008, -10/+122∞ 4 0 = "All for nothing" FTW!
- Haroshia, on 06/04/2008, -1/+102Oh man this week is ***** week? Dammit and here I am wearing pants.
- Shawn4168, on 06/04/2008, -10/+91He's not a great reviewer. He's a good critic, but that's about it. His primary goal is to entertain, and in order to do that, he disproportionately weighs the bad against the good. Most of his criticisms of games are valid, but they are overly exaggerated, and that doesn't make for a good review. I love watching his reviews, but I would never base my decision as to whether or not to purchase a game on one of his reviews.
- mentallyinhell, on 06/04/2008, -1/+77The whole dialogue issue really bugged me. He wasn't exaggerating, everybody sounded like one of four people with little to distinguish them.
- Merendino, on 06/04/2008, -1/+67I'm consistently amazed as to how he keeps his reviews fresh and funny as hell every ***** week.
- DeadlyCyclone, on 06/04/2008, -12/+69He is a great reviewer, if only some developers would listen to his gripes....
- WallnutBoy, on 06/04/2008, -2/+55Dugg for accurate assumption of all Glastonbury festivals.

Not quite syntactically correct, but funny nonetheless. - SpacePirate, on 06/04/2008, -2/+51So what you're saying is that in order for Oblivion to be good, you have to tweak it until it doesn't suck. I like those development values.
- Archaic1, on 06/04/2008, -0/+47Tipperzack, guess what buddy. Today you are president of the internet. As you click from hyperlink to hyperlink feel proud that every dog has his day, and today you are that dog. So as you prance and frolic from from meadow to meadow make sure to enjoy yourself as you look down at us, because I'm afraid to say that tomorrow you will be back to dusting Cheetos off you chest as you wonder mindlessly between your PC, the toilet and the refrigerator. Enjoy it while you can my friend.
- bj1989, on 06/04/2008, -1/+47Put a comment in as a placeholder, you have five minutes to watch the video. Then, within 5 minutes, edit your comment.
- meruru, on 06/04/2008, -2/+44No, there isn't a huge variety of terrain in that game but in a way that improved the immersion for me. It felt more realistic that an area of that size would have roughly the same terrain as opposed to most games where you can walk between a desert and the arctic.
- Doomsan, on 06/04/2008, -40/+81These comments suck.
- woodychris, on 06/04/2008, -6/+39Dugg for "Medieval countryside with wolves copied and pasted until the map was roughly the size of Yorkshire". That was my biggest gripe about Oblivion. The world was just too generic. And, don't get me started about the Oblivion Gates. All of them were copies of the first one you have to go through, at least until the final Oblivion Gate. The only redemption that game had for killing Captain Picard at the beginning, was the fact that his son was Boromir, aka Sean Bean (***SPOILER***)and that he turned into a dragon at the end. (***SPOILER***) At least the towns were unique unto themselves, but everything else was just a copy of the first one, with very few alterations. Still, it was a great game for the 360 at a time when the games were just mediocre. Here's looking at you PDZ, Kameo, and PGR3.
- unicronband, on 06/04/2008, -3/+35Also, the Shivering Isles really made up for a lot of the repetitiveness of Cyrodill. On the other hand, Morrowind had forests, swamps, deserts, mountains, volcanic areas, archipelagos...
Wait, did Yahtzee really just ignite the age old Morrowind vs Oblivion flamewar? - NaziHatinChimp, on 06/04/2008, -4/+33That was really lame dude. "I ran out of time to edit"
- RobotChicken1, on 06/04/2008, -1/+29To be honest, I completely agree with everything he said in his review. Even after you mod the crap out of it (like I do), you're still taken out of the game world all the goddamn time. I just try to avoid talking to NPCs and occasionally I'll just walk from city to city, see if maybe there's a town or an inn on the side. There's often a really nice questline waiting for you. I once found a small village where there was an invisible man wreacking havok, and I eventually talked to a wizard who was apparently this really powerful bad dude and I got to kill him or something. It was pretty cool.
- Llanowar, on 06/04/2008, -0/+27Damn, missed the deadline due to half a minute of laughter. :(
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -5/+31You have to play Oblivion with Natural environments, BTmod, and Francesco's leveled creatures mods to get the best possible experience. They bring back the exploratory nature of the game where you can go into a cave at level 2 and get ***** up by level 20'sh things. Or possibly score some good loot early on if you get lucky.
- Ratty, on 06/04/2008, -4/+30"All for naught" It's a British saying.
- Lasereth, on 06/04/2008, -0/+25The level scaling completely ruined the game for me.
- DocCochran, on 06/04/2008, -1/+26I don't think he spoke quickly enough.
- Stevethegreat, on 06/04/2008, -1/+25I know it sounds weird but the mod community of Oblivion have made greater game decisions than Bethesda itself. Oblivion's modding community is by far the greatest creative force which is spontaneous created in the gaming industry. I can't imagine Oblivion w/t the mods, they're basically two different games. In fact it is wrong to call them mods as they don't just modify, they change the whole experience to something as different as say Halo to Call of duty (two different game philosophies of a game of the same genre). If I was to rank the first (vanilla Oblivion) I would call it an 85% game while the second (modded Oblivion) would be close to 100%, the difference is that dramatic and you have to experience it with mods like "FCOM: Convergence" to believe it.
- Llanowar, on 06/04/2008, -0/+24[placeholder]
- RomanThommassen, on 06/04/2008, -13/+36oblivion is the best rpg i ever played! The mods make it twice as good.
- Philmer, on 06/04/2008, -6/+29I love Oblivion, and I seriously thought this was going to be a positive review, just like painkiller. When i watched it, i was left disappointed, then I realized that what he said is true, but Oblivion remains awesome, he just won't admit it.....sigh........i suck don't it?
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -6/+28Kinks FTW
- lamiaconfitor, on 06/04/2008, -1/+22Really, you ran out of time to edit your really ***** long "Look! I'm First!" comment? Im sorry you were too damn drunk to hit the edit button in the 'unforgiving' 5 minutes Digg gives you to edit your comments.
For instance; at 2 minutes 41 seconds i decided to return and let people know I suspect you of sodomizing your own father. - NikoKun, on 06/04/2008, -2/+23Wow, He hit that one perfectly!
Pointed out all the problems which I had with the game. Course I still loved it.
Lets just hope when Elder Scrolls 5 comes out (someday), that they fix these types of problems. - notzak, on 06/04/2008, -4/+24The difference is, unlike Dane Cook, he actually is witty.
- bj1989, on 06/04/2008, -0/+20Maybe I am a pessimist but as much as I loved Oblivion I share every frustration he pointed out. Especially the fact that every three characters you meet you hear the same voice again.
- Mejogid, on 06/04/2008, -2/+21Right, remind me - what exactly did you say about the game? Oh, that's right, you're just another attention seeking hypocrite.
- Tugsy, on 06/04/2008, -1/+19Is it Wednesday already?!?
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -5/+22That's the exact opposite of what I said. The game is good on it's own but you can't expect a small team of devs to match the resourcefulness and ideas of a large mod community.
- danielsan1701, on 06/04/2008, -4/+21This guy makes my day every damn time, whether I've played the game or not.
- whiskeyklone, on 06/04/2008, -0/+17No, he's a Brit in Oz. Try to keep up...
- Terrk, on 06/04/2008, -3/+19That's like saying that a Ford Focus is really good, once you replace the engine and transmission.
- hogar983, on 06/04/2008, -1/+16Me and my team of engineers have been working all night, and I think we deserve the prize of "Teh biggest code-penis":
remember (nothing() && this); - c1rcasurv1ve, on 06/04/2008, -1/+16So does this mean we're no longer neutral digging the first post for every yahtzee video?
- fgsfds, on 06/04/2008, -1/+16"I had rented it when i first came out on 360. I played it, it didn;t hold my interest - so I sold it."
I'm pretty sure that's illegal... - sexybobo, on 06/04/2008, -5/+20Half-Life2 and Portal both kick the ass of any community project i have ever seen. I am not dogging community projects at all I have seen many community projects that are a hell of a lot better than a lot of high budget games.
You said though "You have to play Oblivion with Natural environments" if the game is not fun with out a mod the developers didn't do a good job making the game. - pharekyz, on 06/04/2008, -5/+19if {
nothing ();
else {
remember (this) ;
}
GENIUS! - inactive, on 06/04/2008, -1/+15Portal started out as a community project. And I guess you haven't played gary's mod or played some of the better single player missions.
