- Edrick, on 10/12/2007, -12/+130Just for that, I'm digging this one.
- Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39Yes, because moderately large hand gestures are so much more likely to cause carpal tunnel than small repetitive button presses or mouse movements.
/sarcasm - korbink, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33Nintendo.com still mentions the game for GameCube everywhere.
- Flump5000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Well, theres still super paper mario...
- MSTK, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25^^ This doesn't mean that the Wii won't support Gamecube games.
They're just not going to release a gamecube duplicate of a Wii agme. - DS513, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20"Get out the pine box and some nails, prepare to bury your Gamecube. It's over. The Gamecube is dead, long live the Wii."
At least you won't have to make the hole too big. :P - RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24Its pretty well known that 99% of digg's userbase have no respect for dupe checking. I usually won't complain about a funny video or a cool web game thats been posted more than once, as long as its been significantly long between postings.
I just don't have much respect for a site that disrespects is regular users with such a horrible design flaw. Write an script that checks for dupes, before letting articles get "greenlit" (aka frontpaged or RSSed). Write a script that doesn't let too many of the same subject get frontpaged or RSS (Apple, I'm looking at you).
Fix the goddamn comments so this place isn't a mad house where there's 50 comments replying to the first one just so that they can be seen.
Get rid of the ***** captchas and implement flood protection like a normal goddamn website.
Fix the Digg system. Mob rule has failed here and it shows.
I'm not whining. I'm not threatening to leave. I'm providing constructive criticism. I'm telling what to fix, and how. Hopefully those extra PHP coders will actually be able to code. - Bara, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Yea well, EB Games and Gamestop aren't exactly the end-all be-all fact shapers of the gaming industry. Perhaps they should get an official word from Nintendo?
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23Why thank you for informing me of that story you linked us to to being a duplicate, I will now digg this one, and bury that one.
And please stop replying to the top post, for the sake of getting your post read more. - MontyZooma, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Remember that EB is Gamestop. It's not surprising that the game's been removed from both companies computers considering they share the same distribution centers.
- larrabee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11This announcement is right on the heals of Nintendo saying that the GCN version would only be sold online through the Nintendo website in Japan. So it isn't that surprising.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10OrangeTide, please provide citations for your processing power comments.
- 13tongimp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14If this is true, then I will NOT be buying a Wii. Screw Nintendo and MS for dicking over last gen system owners. I'm not going to buy any new system until it has an extensive library and a couple of price drops. Trying to force me into getting the new system via Zelda after promises and delays after promises and delays is just *****.
If Sony pulled a stunt like this, you people would be demanding their head on a pike. - bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16It was to come out a few weeks later, and it wasn't $50. We're talking a year ago. Actually Like I said, I can't really afford things as much as I'd like to. If you'd prefer I'd gladly accept a donation of a Wii from you so I won't have a right to complain. Thanks for being a ***** though, much appreciated.
- larrabee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Or Nintendo can follow through on their promise to release it on the GameCube.
- Ub3rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Inaccurate. The only thing they're doing is not taking pre-orders for the game in GC form anymore simply because they don't know how many they are going to get. You can still pre-order it from Amazon, among other places.
- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Why would you buy a Cube before the game you really wanted came out? In the world of tech software gets cancelled.
- mildewmedia, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Obviously this is wrong. Read the story, it says EB has taken it out of it's reserve sku. Lame.
- slaystench, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It is not cancelled.
- Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Marked as innacurate, because 1 company (EB = Gamestop) doing something does not kill a game. Would Nintendo not say anything about it?
- larrabee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Lets hope so. At least GCN owners won't be totally screwed.
- Misanthrope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And mario sunshine, and Wind Waker, and kiler 7, and Animal Crossing, and Pikmin, and Viewtiful Joe...
But yeah...total waste. - larrabee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3FROM JOYSTIQ:
[Update: 1) Nintendo's PR company is attempting to confirm the information. 2) Some Gamestop and EB Games employees say the reason the game is no longer in their computer system or online is that pre-orders have been maxed out. Apparenly once the company stops taking pre-orders, they remove the game from their computer system entirely. 3) As previously reported, even if the Gamecube version -- the system the game was originally developed for many moons ago -- still comes out at retail, gamers will still be forced to wait until December 11. A full three weeks after the Wii version is released. 4) Nintendo of Europe has apparently confirmed that the game will retail normally there saying, "It's a safe bet to assume the US will be doing the same as us - a full release, though it will be printed in smaller numbers than the Wii version.] - Tochi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For those of you who are scared of getting carpel tunnel syndrome from playing the Nintendo Wii system, you really have no idea what carpel tunnel syndrome is... here's some recommended reading:

So I think people will be able to get it for their Gamecubes. I already paid for my Wii version! - Greyline108, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lawl, irony. The article now has an official statement from Nintendo at the very top.
It'll be in stores. ^_^ - lokon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm mad about this. I pre-ordered this game last year when it was supposed to come out(that holiday season I think) thinking I was going to get it for gamecube. Now I've lost $5 to EBGames because I don't plan on getting a Wii
- dolemite5005, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6It's going to be sold online through the Nintendo store only. Mark my words.
- UncleCrapper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why available only through the on-line store? Why not everywhere? It doesn't make sense to me. You spend all that money developing a version for both consoles and you have an established base of existing Gamecubes, of which not everyone of them will translate to a Wii sale. On top of that if stores run out of Wii machines, as I expect they will, then people aren't going to buy either version.
Parents, Grand Parents, Uncles, Aunts, whomever are going to walk into a game store and not see the game after little Johnny or Sally put it on their Christmas list and walk out without making a purchse. How the ***** does that help Nintendo?
I realize it's Jotstiq so the accuracy immediately comes into question, but Nintendo is still selling the Gamecube version of Zelda only on-line in Japan, so all my arguments, except perhaps for Christmas (I don't know how Christmas freaky they get there), still apply. Anyway, I don't get it. What ***** stupidity if they choose to release exclusively on-line in North America. - Snowcone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just confirmed with Nintendo's PR Firm, Golin Harris, that this was false. See this story for the details:
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Zelda_TP_Gamecube_coming_to_US_Retail - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3what about people who already paid in full for TP more than a year ago >_>
- Etheo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I did the very same thing, but at least the cube let me experienced a few good games (RE4, Killer7 namely) so I'm not really THAT pissed... but I'd still be really upset if I ended up not getting a copy of Zelda:TP at all for the GC.
- scurker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Marked as inaccurate. Still listed on Nintendo's website:
http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=fce85fe2-688f-4276-a3c2-84e0f270ab8b&
Until official word is received from Nintendo proving otherwise, I still expect them to release it for the GameCube on December 11th. - TDDM, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9If joystiq was reliable. But I doubt this. Joystiq has said some pretty dumb things lately.
- latca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Marked as inaccurate directly from joystiq
"[Update 2: Nintendo's official statement: Online reports about the Nintendo GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are incorrect. The amazing game will be available at retail outlets nationwide on Dec. 13.]" - z.unit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was a Joystiq fan but dear lord they are starting to lose credibility with me
- BleedingHollow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.amazon.com/Legend-of-Zelda-Twilight-Princess/dp/B0009UBR3A/sr=8-11/qid=1161320570/ref=sr_1_11/104-9666523-9268716?ie=UTF8&s=videogames
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Meh, I was planning on making a purse out of my GameCube once I got the Wii anyways. :)
- Federbeast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dammit!! I reserved this game 2 freaking years ago and this pisses me off!
- gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You lost $5 to them? No, you are just to lazy to go back to the store and get your money back. If you have your receipt they will give you our cash back, if not, you get store credit.
- hizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I work @ GameStop, reserves for a Gamecube Zelda are alive and well @ current time.
- anchondo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Innaccurate...Why do people always jump to conclusions. They would have made an announcement about it if it were true. Not to mention other sites have not yanked it off their shelves. Ex: Bestbuy.com and Circuitcity.com still has it in system. Why would nintendo only tell one company about this. Bury this story
- Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You can still odred the GC one online, not really a big deal though. Good marketing for the Wii, buy it, and you don't have to shop online :D Which my son can't do anyway.
- jmdajr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope this is bogus
- KJSatz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You guys are fools. Nintendo wouldn't do something so asshateous (though that WOULD move some Wiis). It was simply a misunderstanding that there wouldn't be any Gamecube Z:TPs in November...because the Gamecube version was delayed to December! Durr!
- b0b0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Marked as innacurate; joystiq jumped to conclusions simply because EB Games/GameSpot took the game off catalogue. This is very poor reporting on their part.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2thank you, crystal ball... i'm glad you showed up.
- doshindude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's in stores now.
Inaccurate. - Chaoswing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funny how people react to quickly to speculation...
- ChildeRoland420, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You should've gotten RE4.
