- mb3581, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16that is FREAKIN AWESOME!
- KJSatz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Ugh Zelda is making me want a Wii...!
I guess a Wii + Zelda (+ Wii Sports) "launch window" purchase is plausible. - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13The simple fishing component in some Zelda titles is what people not familiar with the series always remember. To this day, my entire family refers to Zelda 64 as "that game with the fishing boy."
- jodokast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Finally we see a Wiimote demo without the user over exaggerating the movement.
Looks great. - Jerk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10If it's not in HD, it can't be fun, right? Ugh.
- SirThom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Awesome stuff.
But someone should notice that he's sitting down playing this game... no flailing arms and jumping around required. - jodokast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Since when does 2 days qualify as "old".
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah... I don't know what people are thinking, but I'm betting that the accelerometers won't require HUGE movements to be able to swing the sword effectively. I don't know for sure, as I've had no experience, but that's my guess. Fishing, on the other hand, is a rather physically innocuous task (at least, this kind of fishing) and I wouldn't expect lots of movement to be required.
- gmillerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That reeling in the fish was sweet.
- jeffb083, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The last console that I bought was the PS1 almost 10 years ago, but the Wii is seriously making me consider getting back into console gaming
- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Wow... taking the OoT fishing mini-game to the extream! and I love it!
I'm so very glad I reserved TP.^__^ - ArcusOfSV, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Well....JUst for that alone I will be buying a Wii
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So glad I scored a pre-order now. The Wii might turn me back into a gamer for the first time since the N64 days.
- zengonzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 So I haven't had any concerns with the Wiimote .. but I am curious as to why it always looks so spastic in the menu demonstrations.
Granted, a presentation venue isn't an ideal playing environment, but it nevertheless always seems to be more spazzy in the channels - like that ones about making the Miis.
It looks perfectly fine and smooth in Red Steal, so what gives? I can come up with a few reasons, but I'd like the real one if anyone has a clue. - tange1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where can we find the sword/dungeon demo he spoke of?
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That game looks REALLY good... and it's just Gamecube graphics in widescreen mode. To know that the dev. team wanted to push the graphics more, only to have Miyamoto deny them, makes me mad... still... this game will be an experience, not just a "play trough".
- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4So pretty...
- sik0fewl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same here, but my last console was the Genesis :)
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah I though so also, I didn't expect them make something like that. I am glad to getting that game.
- rafk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that is pretty freakin cool. I love how the rod's position corresponds to how you hold the remote.. i didn't think it would be *that* detailed.
- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4That is so cool. I agree with other comments that the best thing about this clip is the guy pretty much only had to use wrist movements. This is going to be such a great video game system.
I just wish all the sony and ms fanboys would shut up about HD, CPU speeds, and hard-drive space. Video games are about playing games. And Zelda looks like it's going to be a really, really fun game.
Wii FTW. - marc26uk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Same here, the Wii will be the first console I will have bought in a decade. (although i do obviously play friends' systems etc)
- stan205, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I'm freaking out in my office right now. I can't wait...
- UnglueD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Youtube/google video link?
At work, site is blocked.. however youtube and google video aren't.. go figure - eagleswings, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Why is it the UK has to wait till Dec 8th (at least that's the date they have in Game where I am).
- cardyology, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Thats it for me. Gonna go pay my £20 Pre Order deposit tomorrow.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5'finally'? This video is kind of old.
- whirlwind12, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I
- jasper976, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6wow, it's going to look really bad to people walking in the room as you're reeling in a fish
* the commentary doesn't help there either
"almost there!, almost there!" - brilliant - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Anyone who had a wonky 64 controller analog-stick while fishing in the N64 version knows that Link did some VERY suggestive things with that pole as he turned around...I remember some older friends commenting that Link was just "doing what came naturally, although the location could have been chosen better...that creepy guy at the fishing desk is watching."
- wolfzombie, on 10/12/2007, -14/+0Nice, this gives good insight into how the controller works. Cool for ideas like this. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out in regular games that don't require the motion.
