- Grambo, on 11/14/2007, -1/+41If you enjoy video games, you owe it to yourself to play Psychonauts, if you haven't already.
- skellener, on 11/14/2007, -1/+24Now if we could only move our old game saves off the original XBOX and onto the 360!
- mwinchell, on 11/14/2007, -5/+19I am the Milkman. My milk is delicious
- BornWithRage, on 11/14/2007, -3/+17My god, this is like the 6th time this story has hit the front page today.
- Tallon29, on 11/13/2007, -1/+10It's free forever if you download it within that time frame. They did the same thing with Texas Hold'Em where it was free for 2 days.
- McGrude, on 11/14/2007, -1/+9It plays remarkably well on the Xbox.
- GuyHersh, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7DAMN... I bought Carcassone a few months ago too. I couldn't beside between Catan or Carcassone.. I guess I chose the wrong one.
Why don't they give us like 400 MS points to spend on an arcade game of our choice during that 48 hours. ONLY and arcade game, and ONLY during the time period. - AntidoteSqrd, on 11/13/2007, -0/+7Agree completely, that's one of the funniest games ever.
- NSMike, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7Slow news day for gaming... "Divx coming to 360!" "Original XBox Games for Download in Fall update!" "Divx coming to PS3!" "XBox Originals on Dec 2nd!" "Divx Coming to 360 and PS3!" "Fall Update includes original XBox games and Halo!"
Yeesh. - GeneralFailure0, on 11/13/2007, -2/+9Why would anyone want to download Halo and take up hard drive space when they could just go buy a used copy for cheap?
Also, does anyone know if the arcade game is still yours for free after the 48 hours, or if it's free FOR 48 hours? - UwasaWaya, on 11/13/2007, -1/+6Wonder if they're doing this to push sales of the larger elite harddrive.
Not blaming them, this is an awesome move on their part. I'm thrilled to finally get Psychonauts, and know that the money I spend on it won't be funneled into Gamestop without hitting the developer first. - tman84, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6don't let that discourage you from playing XBL, some of the live games it wouldn't matter, I keep my headset off most of the time during Halo. plus XBL Arcade is one of the greatest inventions ever, it has classic games and free demos.
- MrNexus, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5I agree. This time buy the game damn it. Gamers complain about there being no originality in games and when they come out, nobody buys them. Take a break from the sea of FPS's and play something fun and well written.
- TotalHalibut, on 11/14/2007, -1/+6I'd play Psychonauts if it wasn't a damn platformer. However, it is, and jumping puzzles are never fun no matter how well-written the story and wacky the setting is.
- FullBleed, on 11/13/2007, -0/+5Shhhhhhh. You'll wake the Milkman.
- ahatter, on 11/13/2007, -1/+5too bad they wont refund the people who actually paid for the game :(
- plizard, on 11/13/2007, -2/+6yay another free xbla game. i hope its as awesome as yaris! /sarcasm
- PerfectVictim, on 11/13/2007, -1/+5I'm guessing "all subscribers" means "only available in the US" as usual?
- fedak, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4For those that haven't played it, Psychonauts was one of the best and most underrated games of the last few years.
- princessToBe, on 11/14/2007, -1/+5I just bought a 360 today and i love it BUT for me their isn't much use for online play sense I'm deaf.I bought Skate and call of duty 4 and I haven't tried call of duty 4 yet but Skate is really really fun
- hmunkey, on 11/13/2007, -0/+4Um... the 360 is a GAMING console.
- Grambo, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4I've played a decent amount of team deathmatch in Call of Duty 4 on live, and I really haven't noticed anyone talking much. Except for the random person telling their dog to get off the couch.
- Christbait, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3Lol.
- tntbone, on 11/14/2007, -3/+6I quit buying XBLA games after I received a refurb (3RROD) and found out that the games I bought can now only be played if I am plugged into XBOX Live. They only let you play the demo if you are not logged in. So no more money from me and I encourage everyone to take the same tactic. Microsoft changes their tune when everyone stands up to them. Getting what you pay for should not be to much to ask. I mean how much pirating is going on for a five dollar 25 year old game of pacman?
- loneraven, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3If you call microsoft after your get your refurb back, they'll credit the amount of points you used to purchase those games.
- adamuffa, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3It was a pain but I called them and got all the points I ever purchased, then only re-bought the ones I would play offline, which means tons of free points for me!
- MaynardJK, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4Are you really that dense? Joystiq was being sarcastic. I hope you were too.
- SirSquishie, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4Does this mean online multiplayer for Halo 1? That'd be cool.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Awesome, but lower the price. I've seen Crimson Skies for $3, and you can loan it out and resell it. The download has DRM, and would fill a 20 GB drive quickly.
The only advantage to buying it this way is to be able to play without inserting a disk. Also, who hasn't gotten at least Halo yet? - username9000, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Dude, you will get your divx content soon enough. What does bitching about that have to do with downloadable xbox games?
- hmunkey, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Don't worry about it. Lots of people play without headsets. As long as you don't deliberately annoy people, it shouldn't matter at all. Maybe only a few team-based games won't be good choices for you, but all of the big and greats will, like GoW and Halo 3.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2its not free points if you already bought them.
- MaynardJK, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2We get Carcassonne. They get Hexic 2.
- foomojive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Awesome, Carcasonne is one of the few games i've really wanted to get on XBLA. Now it will have tons of people playing it too! Catan is so much fun on XBLA, I like it even better than the board game version. And I REALLY liked the board game.
- MrFisty, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Psychonauts + achievement points = another weekend spent ignoring my incredibly tolerant girlfriend.
- damon5334, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2I wonder how long they've been planning this, and if they've had time to think about adding achievements to these old xbox games, because aside from scratched discs, I don't see much draw over downloading them and taking up space on the drive. Although, the GameCrazy by my house still wants $25 for a used copy of Halo 2, so if they end up releasing it through XBLA for $15, I'll save the $10 and use some of that space.
Also, I wouldn't mind having Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on my hard drive. - justinp, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Personally I already downloaded the Free Trial so when they release it and everyone rushes to get it... all I have to do is unlock the Full Game.
- Nobi-Wan, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2I'm all over Psychonauts if I'm not able to find a used copy soon.
- Izacus, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2And it never occured to you, that this is perhaps targeted to the people that DON'T yet have those games bought eh?
- justinp, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3The better to sell you a 120GB HD with.
- woohhaa, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Great game. Very outside the norm.
- fani, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2I don't know why you're getting dugg down. You are correct. This stupid DRM'ed ***** is nonsense. You have to be online to enjoy the game you paid for is nonsense if you changed your console. Go by gamerid or change the serial # against your gamerid or something, but this is insane.
- endlessoul, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4Because if this downloadable version has Multiplayer on Live, then it'll sell like hotcakes. If it's the plain vanilla Halo like everyone else has already, then there's little reason to buy it again.
- catfud, on 11/14/2007, -1/+3i know what you mean
its hard to find free porn that is WMV - princessToBe, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2If I make a user account I'll add it to my digg profile
- Christbait, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Yeah this would be the best Idea but Micro$oft don't like us having the freedom to choose when the word "Free" is involved.
- dsunshine1, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1i wonder what they are going to do for the 2nd anniversary of xbox live? (11/22)
- Christbait, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1I don't know why he's being dugg down. I'd like to see this feature happen also, especially seeing as Xbox 360 and XBOX games on DVDs are no bigger than 9GB, so why not do it right now before they do get bigger in the 8th Generation?
Plus they could always make slightly larger download-only games that wouldn't fit on a DVD, but that's a bit of a wet dream. and would probably make me have to shell out for the 120GB hard drive. - dandonia, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1excellent, gotta love free game and the ability to play more games on the system. Pricing is a tad expensive for old ass games like but I did already by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other xbla games which I suppose were far worse quality than the likes of Halo. Good move though to let people buy it, now if only they would put the full list of games up instead of a few select ones that 90% of people already have.
- JoeJacobs, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Yeah, $15 dollars for a "virtual halo." Nah, I'll pay $10 and get the real deal at Target or Best Buy.
