    The "other" consoles come onto the scene and its as if someone in management has decided to begin to make the 360 and the live environment look positvely packed with goodies and fun ( outside of Uno ) .. Of course you would have to be a complete cynic to take that view !

    bury me if you must .. im still sitting on the next gen console fence to see what happens before christmas.

    I know one thing though Xbox Live is everything about Microsoft which is good when Microsoft do something well and it is frankly a killer app in the online gaming environment.

    My ultimate game for XBLA would probably be one of the old 2d Worms games (like Worms Armageddon), personally. It would probably suit the DS interface better, but I have more friends with 360's than DS's. In fact, I think if W:A was available in XBLA it would be the killer app (or at least "killer icing") that would drive several more of my friends to buy 360's. We've just had far too much fun playing that game multiplayer (internet and LAN) over the years and we still bust it out from time to time. C'mon Team17!

    It's the same deal as the Sonic games: go back to your 2d roots! Worms in 3d is as awkward as Sonic in 3d. Take a cue from the New Super Mario Bros game (or Paper Mario). 2d style gameplay with some 3d eye candy.

    Very easy to do the demo and I still remembered the hidden places :) How many hours of fun was that when it first came out!

    Looks like there's a split screen for local play or multi-player on Live.

  • violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I loved Doom just as much as the next guy, and I love retro gaming, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't get back into Doom when I loaded it up on snes9x. Funny thing is that when Rise of the Triad first introduced me to looking up and down in an FPS, I hated it, then it grew on me with Hexen and Quake, and now I can't go back to a game that only allows horizontal movement.

    4 player co-op is definitely something more FPS games need though.

The market is way to volatile to make a decision now. If history has taught us anything, it's that not all consoles are created equal. There's no sure thing in this business.

    That said, I own a 360, and I'm happy with it. But I also intend to purchase both a Wii and a PS3. If you're not the type of person who has to have the latest and greatest, and you don't have the spare cash to take a gamble on buying the "gimp" console, then wait.

    Ever since XBLA came out I have been emailing 3D Rewalms and Xbox begging for Doom to be online. What better game to have in an online arcade then the game that "started" online deathmatch and co-op.
