Still enough to play most games and more than enough to download xbla games. Also the 360 can do 1080p gaming, Netflix streaming, xvid/divx and music streaming over the network, act as a Windows Media Extender. And if you get the $299 model you get a 60gig HD. I stood in line to buy the Wii on launch day by way. I just really regretted buying it and will probably put it on Craigslist one of these day.

You are an idiot if you buy the Arcade, that is all. I have seen literally NO ONE who hasn't at some point said "holy crap, I need the hard drive," and have frequently been behind parents buying a hard drive for their kid's machine (because they know nothing, buy the cheapest unit, and get it begged out of them later), which you'd think wouldn't happen much.
The Arcade is a pointless SKU that fewer people desire than "buy accidentally because they're uninformed," and has caused issues for the majority of OTHER 360 owners.

Yes, they were really unreliable at first, but Microsoft handled that as well as they could. Yes, it's made by the all powerful and evil Microsoft Corp. But the games are good and the online is well implemented. No one is forcing it on you. The price went down and that's great for gamers.
- johnomaz, on 09/04/2008, -1/+11@TimDigg Yes, they extended the warranty for RROD's to three years. I just went through my first RROD on my elite. Took 2 weeks for the whole process. Really though, it was no big deal. If someone can't go two weeks without playing their xbox, they need professional help. What did suck though was on week 2, my Wii had to be RMA'd and my satellite stopped working. It was a technology crisis for me, but i still got through it. Its amazing what else there is to do when you don't have stuff like video games and TV.

You're telling me that it's blatantly obvious what you got with your PS3? Did you look up info about it before you bought it? If you did, then it would've been just as easy to look up info on 360 information.
If not, how could you tell if it was PS2 backward compatible? If it was hardware of software BC? How many USB ports? What kind of SD card readers (if any). Does it come with freaking component cables? HDMI cables? Does the controller rumble? What game does it come with? What size is the hard drive?
There's been so many Playstation 3 SKUs out there, to say that you know more about the PS3 than the 360 after doing unbiased research if laughable. Btw, Gold membership lets you play online, Silver lets you get online, but not play multiplayer. Price points directly affect sales. Lower price points can sometimes increase revenue if you sell enough. That would be your "extra benefit". In this case, they're creating a lower price point with a new, stripped down product. A new product at a lower price point than existing products will generate more sales. Help run a business with some sort of retail side, and then comment.
Oh, and I'm sure that Microsoft execs are reading your post and thinking "Why didn't we read a book on business before we changed the price!" - johnomaz, on 09/04/2008, -0/+7Exactly how does it ***** on the xbox? I was an avid PC gamer, still am really. But I also love my 360. There is just a big gap in the genres of games for both. Racing games, sports games, fighting games, even RPGs to me are way better on the consoles. FPS, strategy, MMOs are better on PC. Also, when I buy an xbox game, I know for a fact that its going to run on my xbox. 1080p high def, surround sound and unless the quality of the game is just low, its gonna look good. As for the PC, guess what, when FarCry 2 comes out, its time for a new video card. How about Crisis 2, or their next game. ***** that. I have an 8800GT in my PC and though I can play Crisis, I didn't get all my settings maxed like I like. I got tired of having to upgrade so much to keep up. When Diablo 3 comes out, I plan on getting it, as well as Red Alert 3.

- dood, on 09/04/2008, -0/+7I use the HD a fair amount. A lot of game demos are available on Xbox Live, and not just for Arcade games. Those game demos can get pretty large.
