Xbox 360 and PS3 Games in NEED OF Publishers! - catfud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14you mean like your type(o)?
- laserick, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17I "in NEED" Halo 3.
- autocrawler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Digital distribution on the PC equals no publisher needed.
...Well, except for the possible case that they actually need extra financing. - Barnolde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The City of Metronome looks AMAZING, but instead of it getting picked up, we're stuck with generic shooter game #1235.
- Dunkan21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6crackdown is fun but has no replay value. you will get bored after you beat the bosses.
- gamegenie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Crayon Shin Chan GBA/DS/Wii
Metal Wolf Chaos XBOX
Earth Defense Force 2 PS2 (denied by Sony but 3 is coming this month to the 360 in US)
Zwei (PC/PS2 Falcom/Taito)
DJ MAX/DJ MAX 2 PSP
There's also 360/PS3 stuff as well that's WAY further along and not picked up for the US. You're on your own on those. - sampson123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Name them.
- gamegenie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The digg heading SHOULD be "We want money", or "Why tech demos are the new games". There are FINISHED games that are much more worthy of a publisher - and less risky to boot. Lame.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Heavy Rain, Metronome, Data-Fly, and Dreamers. WOW! Other than Heavy Rain I hadnt heard of any of those.
- APHughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4turns out they need more WWII shooters, who knew?
- jholland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Didn't we bury someone because they complained of typos and didn't spell typo right?
Look in a dictionary:
myriad MIR-ee-uhd, adjective:
1. Consisting of a very great, but indefinite, number; as, myriad stars.
2. Composed of numerous diverse elements or aspects.
noun:
1. The number of ten thousand; ten thousand persons or things. (Chiefly in reference to the Greek numeral system, or in translations from Greek or Latin).
2. An immense number; a very great many; an indefinitely large number.
Thanks dictionary.reference.com! If only you could also keep the retards off the internet! - beckerist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why is it that a good 50% of the time someone complains about something trivial like spelling or grammar, they themselves are guilty of the same thing?
- yfph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3from merriam-webster: http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=myriad
usage: Recent criticism of the use of myriad as a noun, both in the plural form myriads and in the phrase a myriad of, seems to reflect a mistaken belief that the word was originally and is still properly only an adjective. As the entries here show, however, the noun is in fact the older form, dating to the 16th century. The noun myriad has appeared in the works of such writers as Milton (plural myriads) and Thoreau (a myriad of), and it continues to occur frequently in reputable English. There is no reason to avoid it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I wonder if we'll see any of these titles at GDC this year?
- nekkron99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hell yeah. All these games sound like winners. I'd play all of them.
- unununium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep damn those big companies for not financing buggy games from unknown developers. Damn those big companies for not being benevolent charities!
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, they will be adding more content to Crackdown, and it will be free. So not sure what it is but I hope they can add a lot to it.
- unununium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If it's half as good as generic shooter game #1234 I'll be happy.
- unununium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Right, DamageInc, because one missing word in the header should completely discount a story. Get over yourself, we all knew what he meant so what's the big deal?
- demizu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Quite strange Things like this happen everywhere.
- Dustin00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3! DREAMFALL 3!
I don't care about any of those -- games from new developers often languish because they can't finish them. I've worked on one that never shipped, each new "update" included new features + new bugs, and no fixes for the bugs we were reporting. It just got worse and worse... until we, the publisher, dropped them. We didn't even sue for breach of contract since they had no money, obviously. - Sparke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good story. I hope some of these get the publishing they need and likely deserve.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice story....liked it
- fixedcoma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, there's nothing more dissappoining than creating a game after months and months of work, yet to be turned downed because of small flaws! I guess some of the big companies need to step foward and give a hand. They're the ones running the game!
- Jgsublime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have wanted to play Demonik ever since I saw Grandma's Boy.
- hamstahue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0most games designed and created do not get released.
- TheEgghead, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"Littered throughout the games industry there are a myriad of promising titles"
God damnit why don't people know how to use English properly. There aren't "a myriad of" anything, just like there aren't "a three of" anything. Myriad is an adjective, not a noun (at least in this context). If you want to sound like you know more than do, at least use plethora instead. - CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6I bought crackdown for the halo 3 beta invite, but i must say that game is awsome. I would compare it to GTA on sterioids because it really is one of the better games i've ever played.
- muka3d, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1They've all jumped ship to the Wii :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Yeah small typo...who cares. Anyways, another title would be cool to add would be Time0 from Zootfly. They are looking for a Publisher too and the game looks amazing.
- DamageInc, on 10/12/2007, -19/+3No story with a type should make the front page....buried.
