- ApolloT4L, on 01/27/2008, -1/+3I love the way that some people who simply disagree with something give every comment a negative.
The arguments in this article are valid, so it doesn't deserve negatives from anyone. Comments like 'cue the fanboys' are comments that only come from the fanboys. If you don't like what you are hearing you should comment with something a little more constructive than 'cue the fanboys' because that just makes you sound like exact thing you are pretending to hate. - latpack, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1horrible. you put way too much effort into an obviously biased point-by-point rebuttal.
seriously, if you feel that bad about buying a PS3, suck it up. - ThugATRON, on 02/03/2008, -1/+1Truth is, this isn't the only game thats superior on 360, Orange Box like someone already said, Turok, Stranglehold the list is huge.
The release of GTA4 was always going to be the superior version as it's the lead development platform. Ports are never as good as the original and the PS3 version, whether you like it or not IS a port.
Great news and the facts are there and have been for some time. - ApolloT4L, on 01/27/2008, -2/+1I have one thing to say on the console port front, Orange Box!
Anyone who played the PS3 version will know how poorly it ran and the numerous bugs that exist within it. I do think that the PS3 has potential, I just think that its too late in the Next Gen (or current gen now) cycle for developers to really learn the hardware. Unless the PS3 becomes dominant, only then will developers who are creating exclusive titles fully utilise the hardware. Until then, you can guarantee that the full strength of the Cell processor will never come to light. - ApolloT4L, on 01/27/2008, -6/+5Probably a lot of truth in this article. A good majority of which any Sony fan will hate.
As for the comments that MS paid Rockstar for the exclusive content. That is normal in any business environment, did Sony not just pay $500 million to Warner to ensure exclusive production of BluRay movies? I am pretty sure that Rockstar were paid in the past by Sony to keep previous GTA games exclusive on the PS2 for 6 months, causing the staggered release of GTA games on rival platforms we have seen the past.
Although I have a PS3, unless there is something radically wrong with the 360 version, it's gonna be the 360 version I will buy. One for the exclusive content, but mostly as a result of the online play, my friends all have 360s so it's a no brainer that I want to get the most out the game and if the 360 is where I can do it, then that's the format of choice. - ToddSchishler, on 01/27/2008, -3/+2I could have summed up this author's arguments in two words: Downloadable Content.
Everything else is hearsay, speculation, and opinion.
PS3 caused the delay? Prove it. Even if it did, the game still has three months until release, the author has by no means has that the X-Box 360 version of the game will be superior.
360 gets better ports? I'd have bought that argument a year ago. How about Burnout Paradise or Call of Duty 4? The two are practically identical on either console, "PS3 syndrome" is a dead horse.
Better online/controller are both opinions and opinions aren't evidence.
Gabe Newell says the PS3 is worthless? Oh really? Why don't we ask what Naughty Dog and Insomniac think about the PS3's capabilities? Or would that hurt your "argument" too much?
My favourite statement made by the author, is one of his last about how arguments of the 360's limitations are moot because these same limitations existed on the PS2. Well for one, his logic fails because he comparing apples to oranges. Secondly, he's done more to hurt the 360 than he does to bash Sony by pointing out that there is an argument, that a 2 year old current-gen console, has the same limitations that an 8 year old, last-gen console did. By all accounts, if this statement hurts anyone, it's Microsoft.
Why can't people just wait for the game to actually come out, instead of fuelling more f(lame) wars among fan-boys? - inactive, on 01/27/2008, -8/+4This article is stunning. This is the biggest gaming news of 2008.
Although I'm certain some will not greet this news kindly. - inactive, on 01/27/2008, -5/+1Th author makes a very strong arguement I'll give him that.

Nice point.
Know your Hardware
Same point as the trojan horse...
Earliest Version = Lead Version "Its also believed that the 360 version of GTAIV was in development before the PS3 version"
Who believes that? You? GTA has always came out on Playstation first. And Playstation had a release era before the 360 did for GTA IV. Then Peter Moore showed us that Microsoft payed to get GTA IV released on the 360 at the same time as the PS3.
All Screen shots and Trailers for GTAIV have been from the Xbox 360 version
Thats what alot of people say, but I haven't seen any hardcore evidence.
Developing is easier on the Xbox 360
Developing is easier on the DirectXbox 360? Really?
And the Gabe thing, he said similar about the 360 if you didn't know.

PS3 Version Caused the Delay of GTAIV
Because the statements about making the load times without a hard drive on the 360 (not all have it remember) were a load of *****, right?
Take-Two Takes the Plunge
Take-Two just wants the money, they really don't care about us if you didn't know. Whatever contractual agreement they had with Sony, Microsoft would have bought it out.
PS3 version of GTAIV goes MIA at E3 2007
So you take the first part of his comment as fact but then ignore the fact when he says its identical?
Multi console ports struggle on PS3
You use EA as an argument of proof of this. EA. E ***** A. You don't see Infinity Ward complaining or Epic complaining, Do you?
PS3 Ports: Leaving out the "Little Details"
Similar to the above comment. You use games that suck, like games from EA as proof of this. Makers need to learn how to program better. Insomniac, Epic, Infinity Ward are examples of great looking games on the PS3.
Better Online
I'm positive a lot of multi-console owners feel the exact same way as I do.
Better Controller
This is all opinion, everyone here is going to feel different. As you don't know (submitter=blog writer), the DualShock 3 will be out before GTA IV here in the US and has been out in Japan. I don't know how long the batter lasts on the DS3 but the SIXAXIS lasts for a long time. It also uses a simple USB A male to USB B male cord. Easy to find, easy to buy. Nothing proprietary about it.
MEGATON: Xbox 360 version is the ONLY COMPLETE VERSION
These are Downloadable episodes, something that adds to the game. To get the full story, you buy GTA IV and play through on either console. You don't have to buy the second DLC to get the ending. This whole point has flaws.
Silencing the complaints of Sony fanboys
tl; dr but I skimmed through. The DLC content will not make its way to PS3, Microsoft paid 50 million dollars as you said. So I'm not saying the DLC is coming to PS3, I'm agreeing with you.
In conclusion...
I denied plenty of it.
My conclusion:(because you care
