By all accounts, the PS3 should be selling three times as many consoles, since fewer people already own them! The fact that it is even a race is ridiculous, and just shows that Sony's plan to sell the PS3 as the most expensive console of this generation by a wide margin was stupid.

Everyone keeps talking about the 360 price cut.. the big 200$ model, you mean the one without a harddrive(256mb hardly classifies), without a built in wifi adapter, doesn't come with network cable, doesn't come with a headset, and can't play alot of the original xbox games due to lack of hd space.
Will be interesting to see the Numbers after the holiday season, Would be nice to see Ps3 come down even more, but if you compare the prices between the 2 consoles, and the included features.. PS2 = best games ever. - jusgreat, on 09/15/2008, -3/+13As long as the PS3 and 360 sell about the same amount, the 360 will retain it's larger US market share over the PS3. That 1 year head-start helped a lot... and in-game achievements... and Halo 3 of course.

PS3 and 360 offer consumers more or less the same thing; they're substitutes for each other. - JollyDumple, on 09/15/2008, -3/+9You also have to consider the quality of the games, though. Recently, the PS3 has been getting some really great games, and more are on the way. Also, Warhawk is my favorite online game so far this generation. It really is a good generation of games. Great games on both the Xbox and PS3, so really the only ones who can lose in this competition are the fanboys.
And maybe Nintendo. But I'm just angry at them because my Wii's system files got corrupted somehow.
