Did you happen to see the gameplay movie posted above? The guy was trying futily to get to 2 enemies because some invisible level boundary was stopping him... a boundary that NPCs can ignore. The Japanese go nuts for any game with any of the following in the title: Dragon Quest, Gundam, Evangelion, Pocket Monsters, DragonBall. They're willing to - and have - overlooked ***** gameplay to wrap their sweaty palms around a controller to play one of these games. In the Gundam games I have rented I have found that the Gundam always handled like a wet noodle. So if they can't even get the controls right I don't think they can handle programming for a cell processor.
So avoid Gundam Games at all costs until Bandi goes to a decent developer (I.E. Day 1 Studios, Sandlot, Vicious Cycle Software, From Software, Genki, Capcom Production Studio 4 or Konami Computer Entertainment Japan)
Until then here are some recommendations
If you want a game where your mech is uber powerful buy a game from the Zone of the Enders Series
If you want a game that will give you a Mech Sim type gameplay buy a game from the Armored Core series
(Yes I left out Microsoft titles because
1. we all know Mechassault 3 will be the game to rule the genre.

Probably. Japanese (and other asians) love the Gundam series no matter how awful the games are. The very first PS3 sold in Japan went to a man who picked up this Gundam game as his first title. Tell me that isn't funny and pathetic. I feel bad for the guy, but then I realize, he's probably loving that game.
Famitsu also gave a really high score to Ridge Racer 7. They said it was "totally satisfying." That quote kills me. No game is "totally satisfying." I'm anxiously awaiting the US review of RR7. I expect it to get 6 or 7's out of 10. - xLiKx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4dang, i had high hopes for it

- Amadeus2490, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've watched the gameplay videos for Motorstorm, Resistance, and Gundam and i've definately got to say that I found myself saying "this is SO weak!" outloud; Motorstorm looks absolutely NOTHING like the E3 "oh, we're rendeinrg this on the PS3, but we turned off AI, physics etc and are rendering the entire theoretical power of the unit just to graphics" trailer. In fact, it basically looks like an Xbox 1 game.
Resistance looks (graphics, gameplay) very similar to Half-life 2. Nothing original there, really. And Gundam. . .well nothing needs to be said about that. There is absolutely NOTHING worth spending 6-700 (factoring in sales tax, and at least one game) over. Remember Famitsu's Editor came out and declared PS3 the winner of the next gen wars already. He is the ultimate Sony fanboy. The only rag worse is Eurogamer (who is still waiting to see all the other reviews for Resistance:Fall of Man before "compensating" with their own ridiculously high score... mark my words).

I am probably one of the few who enjoyed Gundam Side Story: 0079 for the DC. Unlike thier later counterparts early gundams are supposed to be slow. They are like tanks. This is digg in which anything that is posted positive about the PS3 is considered fanboy garbage and/or is buried. There are alot of positive things about the PS3 on various gaming sites. But when somebody makes a call like that when other ( gamespot or IGN) sites break it down and still doesn't come to such a horrible conclusion then it makes you wonder what is up with the odd one out. But no.... as long as it fuels the anti sony sentiment it must be the truth.
