- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -10/+32I bet they'd fight harder if the prize was losing their virginity.
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -9/+23no video? ***** this article.
- warp25, on 06/23/2009, -1/+14Hahaha. A digger calling someone else a "nerd". Good one.
- Rachmaninov, on 06/23/2009, -1/+13I watched the live stream for the whole weekend, it was awesome. Looked like a great event, and there was some epic matches! GJ to all the winners and organizers, evo's up next.
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -11/+23Here is a list of the matches

Ken v.s Ken - DougTanner, on 06/23/2009, -0/+11There are a couple of great matches here (In HD!): http://www.youtube.com/user/i208khonsu
The finals of the Street Fighter 4 competition is here: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/1694772 - humanerror, on 06/23/2009, -5/+16Article says "the country's top fighters"
If you go down the list of the world's top players, you're going to get down pretty far before you see anyone from the USA.
To prove the point, Justin Wong won this tournament. Go to youtube and search for "Justin Wong vs. Daigo". You'll see about 20 videos, and Wong gets his ass handed to him in all of them. Or just click: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94sm-ByWf8g
- ilykdp, on 06/23/2009, -0/+9that was too easy, even for you.
- Recoil, on 06/23/2009, -1/+10yeah and a little disappointing...
- billricardi, on 06/23/2009, -1/+9"What are you, a smash player who cries about "camping" and items?"
Noooo, I'm a games theory expert, former beta tester for Namco, and professional gaming author published in Scrye, Bluff, EGM, etc.
"This is STREET FIGHTER SON! We're in a different league. If fireballing is the most effective way to win, then that's what we do."
Well, I'm older than you are, son. And... I just said that the winners are going to be the ones who play Ryu and Sagat, so yes, I know.
"...fireball spam just doesn't work."
The average professional game with Ryu or Sagat has over a dozen fireballs per round, just counting standard (and for Sagat, high and low) fireballs. I never said 'fireball spam works', I just mentioned that the two most likely characters to do well throw fireballs.
So yeah, pretty pointless reply since I wasn't complaining, and you decided to attack... something I never said. Enjoy. - inactive, on 06/23/2009, -1/+9Anyone got links to the best fights of the tourney?
- nochilinopity, on 06/23/2009, -0/+6Good to see an article taking gaming competition seriously
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -2/+7buried for inaccuracies since everyone still alive in the end....
:( - dacool561, on 06/23/2009, -1/+6I'll wait for EVO, where truly the world's best come out and fight.
- billricardi, on 06/23/2009, -1/+6You mean when everyone whips out their secret weapons... in other words, ditches everything except for Ryu and Sagat? :) They're tentatively looking at: "2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, Double Elimination, 99 Seconds, No Handicap". It will be an orgy of fireballs right to the finals! =)
- therobd, on 06/23/2009, -1/+5Good finals match in the SFIV tourney. It almost seemed like Wong was disrespecting Choi by picking Abel for the last match, but if he thought it was a better matchup, then it was a good decision. Regardless, he won in the end. My hat's off to him.
Link to the finals for those who didn't check all the replies: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/1694772 - buffofspades, on 06/23/2009, -0/+4There's a link to a ustream site in the article that takes you to a VOD of the finals. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/1694772
- CLShortFuse, on 06/23/2009, -0/+4Strange to see Brawl is still being taken seriously. It's a fun game but horribly broken in terms of balance. Planking FTL
It's funny that they had a Melee side tournament and that's getting a lot of coverage. M2K won that one, btw. - Caedus, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Wasn't "I Got Next" supposed to be released (in limited form), last month?
http://www.igotnextmovie.com - inactive, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Oh. My. God. The Nerdism is seeping through the monitor.
- inactive, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Literally...? no?
Who cares. - Caedus, on 06/23/2009, -1/+4That just never gets old. :D
- JammoBlammo, on 06/23/2009, -0/+3Coming from Pedobears, is scary.
- Larssonk22, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2so impatient, they take to the street afterwards
- Larssonk22, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2You are only saying that because you've spent so little time playing it. Ono designed the game around the classic SF2games (ST to be precise), but added the revenge meter, ultracombos, focus attacks so once you dive into the real meat of the game its actually a very different and IMO quite refreshing SF game.
- smack1700, on 06/23/2009, -4/+6Sonic boom
- Larssonk22, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2Devastation is mere foreplay compared to EVO

Let's not make too big of a deal out of this. Gaming is awesome but it's still a hobby. - NJank, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2sure you can
- YellowSnowDemon, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2Competitive fighting games are social. Did you not see the pictures?

- ImyK, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1No Daigo?
- YellowSnowDemon, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Tekken and Soul Calibur are a joke compared to SF, Smash, GG.... well, anything. They are better than DoA though, I'll give them that.
- Dugglous, on 06/23/2009, -1/+2No one from US? BS!! I see Guile in top plays all the time.
- Elranzer, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1It was just an excuse to get a Street Fighter article after a Mortal Kombat article.

- sperin4, on 06/23/2009, -0/+1Buried for "Rock Band World Tour." Don't you dare associate the greatness of Rock Band with any Activision music *****.
