It is good. So good in fact, I am often labeled a cheater when I quickly switch to the perfect weapon while still circle strafing my brains out in HL2DM. It makes it easy to get your intentions into the game rather than having them lost between you and your interface. - ever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@urusai:

Doesn't work. Try pleasuring yourself with the wrong hand and you'll understand. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Attention lefties! You can use your right hand for mouse action! There's no law saying you must do things backward! For instance, did you know that us righties use our left hand when we type? Did you think we were ambidextrous?
- DaWolfman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WASD? Screw that!
Arrow keys all they way!
P.S. Don't flame me, I have a friend who plays Half-Life and refuses to use the mouse. That's right, he uses PgUp/PgDwn to look up and down. He also says HL is really hard for some reason..... >_ - omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what's up with the huge Z X an C keys? wouldn't the WASD keys be the most used? I still reckon the Nostromo n52 SpeedPad looks good.
- weesee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1what if I dont use WASD?
- doczein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice pad. horrible name.
- bonlebon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool gadget, I dugg dawg.
- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool digg. but iam a old fashion gamer. wsad is all i need.
- Skrolnik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll have to give this a try, but it just may be time to retire the old Nostromo n50 SpeedPad.
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0chump - ever tried pressing a thumb button (ala Logitech mx500) with your pinky?
- nannerla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0looks nice
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i like it. but fucly name
- odin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ummm...its not a keyboard
- chump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@nerfdude
I really don't see why your mouse options are limited, there is an option to switch right/left in the control panel (in Windows). - JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Next digg feature - spelling -AND- grammer checking. ("Te first time I purchased...")
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0omenmedia - Long story, but I bought the n52 twice. Te first time I purchased it I only gave it about a day of play and hated it. I have large hands that simply overwhelmed the thing and didn't like the feel of the buttons. After writing it off I saw a good friend using one and talked to him about what he thought. He showed me that the unit was adjustable for larger hands (I mean com'on, who reads manuals anyway?) and showed me that the buttons get a little softer with wear. That was all I needed to hear, so I went out and picked up a second one. After a few days of play I felt as-much or more at home on it than I did on a regular keyboard - and now I can't imagine playing without it.
Long story short - just be sure to give it time for you to adapt to playing on it. Once you do, you won't go back. - aubray1741, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome. I want one. Name could be better.
- omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0uh I meant to write "meaning to get", dunno what happened there o_O
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0someone needs to come out with an ambidextrous... anything. i'd love a nostromo but i mouse with my left hand (which SEVERELY limits my mouse options... luckily i've been sporting Razers since the Boomslang came out)
- Ace25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yup, reminds me of the N52 as well which I have sitting right next to me. I see no need to replace it as it does everything I need comfortably.
- omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0JHawk - I've been meaning an n52 for a while, I think you may have convinced me. :)
- gwjc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think I'd have to live with it for a month to decide if it didn't sux.. but I'll give it a digg.
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nerfdude - The WolfKing Warrior (lets just call it the WKW, it sounds at least somewhat cool) seems to be at least slightly ambidextrous, however you are right about the n52 - righties only need apply. Sounds crazy, but you could mount the n52 upside down under your desk or on some typed of stand and use it that way. :)
- linuxwarz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0one word... crap
- dargon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've considered buying the keyboard but held back cause I have a perfectly serviceable one now, this on the otherhand will make a nice additon.
- whisperedlie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have the WolfClaw II. It is the best FPS gaming keyboard I've tried yet. I don't mind it for WoW, either.
However, I wish this would have been available when I bought it. The gaming part is great but the keyboard part is uncomfortable to use. This would have been nice so I could use my regular keyboard for non-gaming activities without having to move around an extra keyboard.
This design is pretty similar to mine only they added the function keys, which is nice. I can't think of a major complain about it. It does take a bit of getting used to (maybe a couple days to a week, depending on how much you play), but once you do it is absolutely wonderful. - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's pretty cool, but I would have to have it in my hand before I ever even considered ordering one.

JHawk24821, you need it more. It's grammar, not grammer. Duh. - Maverick83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My N52 Speedpad performs nicely. Fully programmable buttons, changing the button config on the fly, and assigning macros to buttons is really, really nice. I don't use the mouse wheel to switch buttons any more.
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Attention lefties! You can use your right hand for mouse action! There's no law saying you must do things backward! For instance, did you know that us righties use our left hand when we type? Did you think we were ambidextrous?"
if what you just said made ANY sense, there wouldn't be "left handed" and "right handed" people. try writing with your left hand, or mousing with it. - sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Would be ***** great if I could find a place to buy it at... the site isnt working well for me at the moment
- Hyperion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd have bought an n52 a long time ago if it weren't for its very small amount of keys. CSS (for me) just uses more keys than it could offer for me. The WolfKing looks like it'd be very nice to have, but the Logitech G15's macro keys (or the Saitek Eclipse' for that matter) are too cool and the LCD for the G15 would have me hooked too. I'm just waiting for the second revision or the next version of Logitech's gaming keyboard to come out so they can have all the kinks gotten rid of and more features in place (as well as a larger developer's support for the LCD).

Actually that works pretty well... - Nazgul11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, nice looking. :) +Digg!
- revolution117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Should us MMORPGers look at n52 Speedpads? Would it benefit me in WoW at all?

"i use "ESDF" /cry"
You're not the only one. ESDF feels so much better to me, since the finger placements are just like normal typing. I've honestly never understood the WASD craze. Now my friend is really crazy, and uses GHJ-Space (never understood it). - Hawk4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heh, I'm a lefty and use my right hand on the mouse just fine. It's all about habit, really. Whichever way you first started using consistently is the one that will feel right. However, changing would also not be as difficult as you might think, since moving your wrist and two fingers doesn't really qualify as intensive work. I can use my left hand for the mouse quite well when I need to.
Anyhoo, the WolfKing (what chump named this?) Warrior looks OK, but I don't see anything revolutionary about it. It looks like some of the buttons could be a bit difficult to reach (depending on the overall size of the device). Especially the three on the left. They better be soft, otherwise the pinky will have a tough time with those. - jaknet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nostromo n52 all the way...... and only £25 retail... well in UK anyway
- sgtawol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Finally! Something that will give all the z-board users a wake-up call. THIS is what a gaming board should be like, not one that requires you to spend $10 for every new game you want to play.
I've got to get my hands on one of these soon! - Skrolnik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0About this whole ESDF vs. WASD discussion: who remembers IJKM from the dark ages of 8-bit computer gaming?
- Hercules, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nostromo n52 is by far, the best gaming pad out there. It's comfortable, adapts to big and small hands, is programmable and can change the profiling of its keys based on the game you are playing. If you have it set up right, you really don't have to do anything on the keyboard other than chat... and I only do that when I die -- else it's voice chatting thru Ventrilo or the in-game speech for CS:S -- and both of those are bound by my Nostromo too -- the right d-pad button.
While I would like to see a refresh to the Nostromo to perhaps add a few more keys, fix the sticky thumb button, and make the keys a bit more pliable (and maybe backlit!), even as it stands it's an amazing device. Every competitor that's come along I have tried -- be it the Saitek one, or the Cyber Snipa, or even Logitech's gaming keyboards -- they all pale in comparison to the Nostromo.
The thing with the Nostromo -- and it's especially true if you are a hardcore keyboard user -- is you *have* to force yourself to use the pad. I tried and stopped three times before my "A" key on my keyboard broke -- so I was forced into using the Nostromo. Once I understood the beauty of profile switching and the 'state' changes, I was amazed. My gaming has become not better... but more efficient and faster. FPS games demand quickness, so the fact I can hit my state change to go Blue, then hit ONE key and do an auto-buy for my CS:S guns, release the state change and then boom -- I'm locked and loaded to party. If I swap to World of Warcraft, those state changes do something different, based on different macros.
So the long and short of it is... regardless of what comes out, the Nostromo is perfect for gaming in any scenario -- Real time Strategy, FPS, RPGs, etc. Just force yourself to use it, LEARN IT, and you too will have drank the Kool Aid I did. - poet_will, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone have a N52 profile for WoW?
- kAtalyst, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0does it work with your keyboard or replace it...what about console commands for games like cs.
- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0W=forward S=backwards A=Strafe Left D=Strafe Right . default for most First Person Shooters (FPS)
